Stardew Valley has officially passed one million copies sold! Great job, ConcernedApe!
I really hope that sine the game's been so popular he'll add some really big expansions.

I'm getting super hyped to get this, I'm totally getting it though.

This is asking a bit much, but I also hope this doesn't end up like Five Nights At Freddy's or Undertale, where the bizarre community/sub-culture/etc eclipse and drown out the actual game.

Maybe not to the same degree but any game with a fanbase gets this to some degree. Just ignore it and enjoy the game.
I feel like this game is going to be genre defining, like Minecraft or DayZ were (ie be prepared to bitch about a million clones hitting greenlight)
Can't wait for Dewstar Valley. it's like Stardew Valley, with guns!

I would love the opportunity to make a game like Stardew Valley with a stronger emphasis on people and complex relationships with events rather than just a gifting system. Something bigger and more diverse. I would want to make it something where your relationships with people depends on the things you say to them and the actions you take that impact their lives personally. Actually, I don't even know that I'd make it a farming game. Like, I think it'd be cool if you could be any kind of profession and not necessarily be a farmer.
I feel like this game is going to be genre defining, like Minecraft or DayZ were (ie be prepared to bitch about a million clones hitting greenlight)
And we shall call them... Harvest Moon-likes, wait what.
1 Million Copies sold is a pretty big success for a one-man-job.
To be honest I don't even know how many copies the original FNAF sold. Steamspy says it didn't even sell a million which I kind of find hard to believe. But if Stardew really outsold the original FNAF game, holy shit.
I feel like this game is going to be genre defining, like Minecraft or DayZ were (ie be prepared to bitch about a million clones hitting greenlight)
I like this game tremendously but let's be real: this is a Harvest Moon clone. There's nothing at all wrong with that, but that game did the genre-defining, not this. [editline]14th April 2016[/editline]
And we shall call them...
Yeah but hasn't the latest Harvest Moon games sucked? It's like City Skylines. For some reason the big devs can't fucking do it right so the little guy has to come up and do it themselves.
Yeah, Skylines is the new standard for city builders, and Stardew Valley is likely to be the standard for farming RPGs. Doesn't matter who is first, just who is better. How about Starmoon-like? Gives credence to both with a nice ring to the name.
Infiniminer existed before Minecraft, but nobody calls Block Game With Guns #2396 an "Infiniminer clone" Harvest moon may have been the first but it didn't create a flood of farm rpg games like Stardew Valley will [editline]14th April 2016[/editline]
How about Starmoon-like? Can't argue with that. [editline]14th April 2016[/editline]
I just realized there isn't a single toilet in the whole town. No wonder my crops grow so fast.
Games installing now :hypeisreal:
Have fun dood. Don't be afraid to ask us for help if you don't want to use the Wiki.
Games installing now :hypeisreal:
A train is passing through Stardew Valley
Does anyone ever use the train? I usually have a vague idea of what I want to accomplish the next day and when a train comes by I already have setup a bunch of shit to do so I ended up never using it. It takes to the desert right?

The trains supposedly drop coal and stone? But I've literally never seen any after one passed
