What are the benefits of actually being married? What sort of chores do they do around the farm? If they're like pets, I don't think I'm gonna bother with it. Dogs / cats do fuck-all around the farm.
On one hand they'll do stuff like repair fences in the morning, on the other they lose all of their personality and have it swapped with generid husband/wife character.

So far I've had Abigail repair fences one day and cook me breakfast another, the third day she hasn't done anything however.

Are your spouses supposed to go into town during the day or something? Because for over 1.5 months Abigail never left my house further than standing on the little porch. And if she's inside she just stares at random parts of the house and complains that she can't walk anywhere even after I threw everything but the TV out. Also, since I married her I get this weird feeling - I got the girl, but I kinda miss the hunt, if you know what I mean. :v: Would probably help if there were still a lot of marriage events or she would actually still do things other than doing a few chores on the farm.
on the other they lose all of their personality and have it swapped with generid husband/wife character.
so what you're telling me is that marrying sebastian will improve the quality of the character significantly phew
Wanted to store some bombs in one of my chests in my storage room. I Rightclick on the chest while not facing it and it drops the bomb. Literally all my chests with stuff gone lol. Alt + F4.

It'll turn you if you click a square that's immediately bordering your character but outside those it doesn't affect your facing at all. (Except apparently when fighting in the mines where I've had my character randomly flip around 180º which is typically nowhere near where my cursor even is...)

While I like the fact that villagers keep their personality after marriage unlike most of the harvest moon games I used to play, I think it's kind of a pain if you still have to take care of them afterwards, I haven't married anyone yet but if your wife suddenly becomes bitchy over you not giving her anything for a few days or because there is this one tile she can't get through I'd get kind of annoyed. How does it work in this game? What is the measure of treating your wife right? And does it affect anything at all or is it just to give them more personality?
Wish they at least helped you reliably if you keep them happy, since after marriage they become a recluse trophy wife that hates furniture and sometimes waters plants that dont need to be watered and feed animals that don't need to be fed. It's very underwhelming overall, which is a shame. The dev said seems to be taking feedback at heart so hopefully we'll see some improvements on that front
I think I'll stay unmarried for the time being then Sounds like a bother anyway
I'm really looking forward to see what the dev is planning to add to the game in the coming months/years. What do you think might be added? I'd love more locations and characters, obviously. Also, I'm getting filthy rich. [thumb]http://abload.de/img/2016-03-03_00005kjlxs.jpg[/thumb] [thumb]http://abload.de/img/2016-03-03_00006zgxzq.jpg[/thumb]
Co-op is the next major addition, iirc. Beyond that, who knows? We can but hope though.
Quite helpful for that.
all that does is show a little red square of where you're targetting, no? I have that turned on, and I still manage to spray water in the wrong direction (when I'm charging up for 3 tiles). would be nice if the character auto-turned to whichever direction your mouse is facing, no matter how far the pointer is from your character.
Mh, I guess Rune Factory 4 spoiled me again with the marriage mechanics. Really, you get to have a kid, your partner is always available to go anywhere with you, they still do their life routine but lives at your place, has some new dialogues and references to you differently, but still retain their personality. They'll cook breakfast too, and you don't exactly need to shower them in gifts like when you're courting them, but it's still gets you nice responses and they give you something back every once in a while. Ah well, still having fun with Stardew Valley. The community center is really fun to complete and it goes year around so there's always something to do.
Mh, I guess Rune Factory 4 spoiled me again with the marriage mechanics.
Except for the whole "them saying yes is pure RNG", it took me a solid season to get Forte to say yes.

Well Penny and I have professed our love for each other, just need the mermaid pendant now.
Ahaha, you're right on that account. IIRC though, you can just reload until it happens too. Granted I've seen plenty of people say they got it in the first try or so, so I guess I was just exponentially unlucky.
where the hell are the purple shorts
damn, it finally happened. just played today and about one hour in, I got hit with the feeling of how pointless and repetitive the game is. now I can't have fun no matter what. at first, unlocking and upgrading is fun, but the minute my brain thinks of things in terms of "but then I'll have to unlock something after this, and again, and again" I find it really hard to enjoy the game anymore. always happens in every game I play, was hoping it wouldn't happen so soon with this one.

I'm sure there will be a lot more crops, items and even possibly story by then.
the game was damn enjoyable while it lasted, and it really gave me a nostalgic HM feel. I got to binge on it and had a blast. I really miss the days when I'd be able to play games nonstop, I don't know when I started to lose interest so quickly in all of them. shit sucks, yo

All games get boring much more quickly.
I bought this game on impulse and played for 6 hours straight after launching it :vs: I'm enjoying it, to say the least.
Welcome to adulthood. All games get boring much more quickly.
Ironically enough, for all the people shitting on portable games, I find them so convenient now that it's almost became my main platform. From android to 3DS, I can always whip out the thing and play something. The time when I'm in front of my PC to play games is smaller than before, and being elsewhere allows me to talk to people and do other things than just play.

That's how it is for me anyway. I see how all the mechanics and minigames in new releases are just like the things I've played before in other games and that's why it gets old so quickly.
