I don't mind powergamers so much, but I absolutely hate some of the ahelps they come with ("Can I execute x? Is x valid? I found y on x and I can't trust common sense to guide me in this situation!!") If you can't make a judgement in your position, maybe you shouldn't play those roles...

Reminds me, how long did that rev round last night go on for? I was the CMO, and I died to space carp while looking for the last Rev Head's autist fort that he kept recalling the shuttle from, and then I ended up finding where he was while dead. Half an hour later, past the round's 1-hour mark, I got cloned, and while waiting I ahelped to check if I could act on that knowledge just so we could finally end the round. I was told no. :frown: Ended up dying in Cryo because we lost power and someone shanked me. Flew over to the autist fort and he was still just sitting there recalling every time it got called.

If someone during a rev round fucks off into their own safe mancave I warn them for camping, and if they don't do shit, I call them out over centcomm announcements.

I know after I died the second time, he had the CE and another Engineer in the fort with him, though. His fort was also just literally built into the hallway between the SMES room and the airlock to the Solars to the west of that. And nobody noticed, I guess.

So I'm going to try this for the first time. Upon connecting to the server, it wants to download 63MB of data, but my connection keeps timing out. So every time I retry, the download starts over. Will I have to download all of it every time I connect, or will BYOND keep the data once it's been completely downloaded one time? I know 60MB doesn't sound like much, but on a 3 Megabit connection this can take a while when my girlfriend is watching stuff on youtube at the same time... :/

Byond keeps the data, at least I don't have to redownload it all the time. The only time you need to do so is when an update is made.

Or something like that.[/QUOTE] Oh okay, I did exagerate a little bit, I suck at the game :v: I mean I knew they could look for antags so I shouldn't had posted so hastily, but I thought your request was kinda reasonable anyway considering what you had to deal with. If I was an admin I would've probably spiced it up for you by giving you one of those special jobs. I was mostly annoyed about him in the end, he could've made things a bit more interesting for everyone. I generally try not to metagame but it really hurts when you have some kind of extra piece of knowledge and you can't use it, it bugs me a lot, I would probably design a better system instead, couldn't the game be setup in such a way so that antags are hidden if you are in the ghost form? Also maybe ghosts could see the world the same way as a human would, I'm most likely missing the point as to why these things were setup this way though, this might be a crappy idea.

In my experience the rule has always been you remember everything up to the point where you either died or got scanned. If some bloke stabs you without wearing a disguise, and you get cloned from that corpse you remember who killed you. Unless you're on some kind of heavy RP server. If you get cloned from a backup, obviously that backup doesn't remember anything that happened after it was created. Of course you can't use any information you learned while you were dead, that is pretty shitty. The scrying orb is a special case, it's a magic item whose sole purpose is for scouting things out. It'd be completely pointless if you couldn't remember anything you scried. Besides, the orb doesn't kill you, just temporarily lets you assume the form of a spectre.
