Um, who is camille exactly? Some sort of spessmen celebrity?
someone who powergames on hippie and brags about it, harvesting antag salt
I went to try lifeweb, run into some problems and went to ask a question on their #questions channeling in discord and some pleb started throwing a shit fit how like everyone is asking the same question and some crap i don't care about and proceeded to dodge the question. (there nothing about the it on the wiki also) a+
Jonestly Camille is easy as fuck to robust if you know how

I've been killed just for the laugh of it so many times now by people who roleplay as someone insane. this is annoying

If both are competent and validhunt persistently through rounds then any antag can kiss their ass goodbye. Although it's fun to have a competent Captain or HoS, their roles are to be played as how the situation dictates instead of being played to their full ability, often metagaming and powergaming to do so. It's incredibly fun and flexible for the round to have conflict instead of each antag getting killed before they can do something interesting. Fuck those who play this way.

some things never change i guess [img_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/kYSdGAA.png[/img_thumb] Me and friend started as miners, mined into a room thing filled with skeletons, proceeded to get ass blasted, went on a journey as zombies, fell down sewer hole, some one alive fell down skeletons fucked her up we finished her, took 10 minutes to realize you can swim by lying on ground then crawling, navigated monster filled tunnels, fell down 1z level and our legs exploded, released as wraiths to see our sons get destroyed by cerebuses, saw a whore get raped and found clown in a hole next to the tardis. 8/10 will play again
Um, who is camille exactly? Some sort of spessmen celebrity?
The person who plays as captain, takes all weapons and armor. Injects meth like a mofo, and tases everyone to check for antag.

They used spill water in maint while hiding in a closet and the moment someone would slip Camille would cuff them and search them. If you had any antag items on you that was a quick execution. No powergaming rules on Hippie and nobody wanted to man up for the longest time and enforce Rule 1. I think Camille got banned for a while for something something at some point.
what
Sounds like the timer ran out and you didn't have enough credits, so you exploded. That happens, for Soulbreakers; there's a console across the room from the slave teleporter you can use to check the timer and how many credits you have/need. Unusual thing, I guess, is that you passed out after you exploded. Probably because of your proximity to each other.

Whats this weird darkly colored game you guys are talking about?

I haven't played SS13 in months now. Should I try out Lifeweb or just get back into SS13?
I haven't played SS13 in months now. Should I try out Lifeweb or just get back into SS13?
I tried getting back into SS13 and honestly can't, players seem even less robust, and it is just flat out going through the motions, rather than playing a game.
I tried getting back into SS13 and honestly can't, players seem even less robust, and it is just flat out going through the motions, rather than playing a game.
It's definitely more than just seemingly. I've noticed that players have been getting less robust since (approximately) around the start of Yog and Rocketstation. It was just a few years ago that the word "powergame" was unheard of and if someone was going around blowing shit up with all superpowers, an assistant would prevail and find a way to robust him. I haven't seen that happen for god knows how long.
I've played for years and I've never been robust. My internet connection gets so bad, I don't even bother playing for a few months at a time.
I haven't played SS13 in months now. Should I try out Lifeweb or just get back into SS13?
Try lifeweb out. Its a different kinda game, but it feels like when I firat started ss13. everything is an exciting adventure
it feels like when I firat started ss13. everything is an exciting adventure
I can vouch for this, it really, really does feel that way. Unfortunately, populated rounds lag my balls off.
Try lifeweb out. Its a different kinda game, but it feels like when I firat started ss13. everything is an exciting adventure
Yeah, exciting adventure would really be the right way to describe it. The lack of rules also makes it much different than any other SS13 derivatives.
I've played for years and I've never been robust. My internet connection gets so bad, I don't even bother playing for a few months at a time.
Never have I, but I got accustomed to half of the hotkeys after one year. And I've never been robust enough to defend myself against shitty greytiders who steal your stuff just for the lulz. I've tried playing as holoparasite for two traitors. The first one was very good because he knew what he was doing and had lot of empathy. He even didn't use his antag role as a license to kill one anyone he mets. Since he let me heal some dying innocents until due a bug we got stuck inside the AI chamber. Only to be killed a e-sword traitor who later instantly died because he turned his e-sword away me and let me land a successful hit. Turns out he was filled with blackpowder. The second one, however, didn't know what he was doing and allowed himself to be beat up by a chemist who dragged him out and threw him into space. Threw fits on me and blamed his loss at me. Apparently BYOND isn't a valid excuse.
Try lifeweb out. Its a different kinda game, but it feels like when I firat started ss13. everything is an exciting adventure
Lifeweb is pretty fun, once you can get over the absurdly ill-advised changes made to the game mechanics for the sake of roleplaying (target your mouth while on help intent to eat? What?!). The big thing you have to remember is that, since the server's population was mostly Russian at the start and Russian roleplayers have absolutely no taboos about metagaming, you're going to have to either exploit shit like a motherfucker or die within the first few minutes of spawning to a freshly-hatched murderboner. Lifeweb does a lot of shit wrong for no discernible reason, but the stuff it does right makes it fun as hell.

You'd never see any of the cool stuff like traitor miners thinking about carrying around uranium and iron ground up for a ghetto EMP.
90% of players these days can't do basic chemistry, toxins, engine, botany, kitchen or even medicine, and many of the old cool stuff like ghetto spesssuits aren't even an option, probably due to "fairness" or something. You'd never see any of the cool stuff like traitor miners thinking about carrying around uranium and iron ground up for a ghetto EMP.
We're pretty much at the end of SS13's lifespan. At the start, pretty much nobody knew how to do medicine, or chemistry, or xenoarchaeology, or even how to cook, because a lot of useful information was kept secret by players who wanted to have a leg up over the others. Then, when SS13's code went open source and hordes of dedicated spaders and testers started coming out of the woodwork, useful metaknowledge became widespread through wikis. Pretty much everyone knew how to make a stunprod, treat a xeno embryo, make a basic grenade, and go exploring in space, and it's all thanks to the wikis. Now, wikis are so commonly used and the current fanbase is so lazy that nobody bothers to remember stuff from the wiki. If they need it at all, they'll just take a few minutes to look it up. It's not like they care that you're dying as they thumb through the Guide to Surgery and forget to read those niggly little "Use HELP intent you moron" prompts. Currently, Lifeweb is at the first stage. Did you know that, as a Post-Christian, you can go to the church and flagellate yourself for a special moodlet that makes you immune to Thanati magic (this includes the coin that lets them explode your head from across the map)? Did you know you can make yourself much less likely to get pain-stunned by holding your breath? Unless you're either a veteran player or you've got one of those handy-dandy metasheets (which will, incidentally, make the veteran players super butthurt if you tell them you have it), most relatively new players won't know that. Finding all the hidden shit Randy put in is one of the big reasons people enjoy Lifeweb so far, and I'm worried that once they figure out everything in all its ramshackle glory, they'll get bored and leave -- just like what happened with a lot of the people who made it to the second phase I described earlier.
