fold the paper up and wear it paper hats paper gloves paper pants paper shirts
fold the paper up and wear it paper hats paper gloves paper pants paper shirts
Paper hardsuits with paper retractable helmets that work just like a normal hardsuit, for some inexplicable reason. [editline]11th April 2016[/editline] Actually, no, remove the armor that a hardsuit normally gives, but still make it protect you from being husked by space.
Paper-hardsuit makes you become shrinkwrapped (think the gift wrapping on a person) in a vacuum, imparting suffocation until someone cuts you out.
Or maybe paper hardsuits work perfectly but if you even take any kind of damage the suits blows off completely haha.
What if you get soaking wet
Upon touching origami, the Detective instantly becomes a traitor.

These rip off after a small amount of time or some other factor, I dunno. Not much of a stretch that a paper spacesuit could be made as a subtype of these emergency spacesuits so it rips after a short while/you take any kind of damage.
I'm working on a presentation for college about SS13. Does anyone any decent images to use? I'm talking artwork which isn't filled with injokes.
What's the presentation going to be about SS13? Also tell me how bad you mess it up.

Ah, Jesus Christ. I'm embarrassed that I was a mod on their forum for a whole year. Though that was like 2 years ago at this point.

wait, centration is still alive?
Ah, Jesus Christ. I'm embarrassed that I was a mod on their forum for a whole year. Though that was like 2 years ago at this point.
its funny cuz i remember you mostly from that forum what a sad thing centration is

Here's a little story about the head honcho of the entire project. Goonstation (with help from Exadv1) cockblocked him when he tried to take over the game in 2009 and he's had a hateboner for them ever since.
To those not in the know: AZA was given the original ss13 source by the creator, Exadv. AZA then proceeded to leak the code (which wasn't his to leak) and then got really, really mad when goons took the leaked code and made Goonstation. What followed was AZA sending out legal threats and misspelled cease & desist letters to goonstation (obviously written by himself.) Trying to make byond drop goonstation from the hub, rallying attacks on goonstation etc. Eventually he decided to make his own server, but could only find people like android data (pages could be written) to help. AZA unexpectedly disappeared shortly after, and served a jail sentence for some kind of fraud. So the main dev is an ex con goonhater who couldn't even run a ss13 server. More you know
"The TRUE SS13" is still out there on BYOND. A fine piece of history! http://www.byond.com/games/AZA/SS13
id like to have that version tho
Me too if only for to return
aza was always a cocksucker, he talked to me on steam oh-so-convinced of his success repeated times + tried to get me to spend into it a bunch of times. now i just realized he always talked to me like a manipulative addict of some sort. what a fuckup
Which servers are still decent/fun these days? Haven't touched SS13 in well over a year and a half but seeing this thread has stirred my itch for some good ol' fashioned autism in space. Also, I heard that not too long ago came some code which has done a lot of good towards reducing SS13's trademark lag.

Unless you want total anarchy straight from the start. Then it is your server.
Anything but goonstation or whatever its called anymore. Unless you want total anarchy straight from the start. Then it is your server.
Goon is actually the chill kinda place where people will pause from their attempt at breaking into security to show you a trick or two and nobody cares if you fuck up at your job... or do your job at all. Hippie is like goon but on Methamphetamine slammers (and in fact for a while pretty much everyone WAS using meth because it was OP as shit and had negligible downsides) Where the first thing EVERYONE does is build weapons or bunker the fuck down because the greyshits are going to try and break in and steal your shit to build weapons. There is a good fucking reason the whole of the science wing has near bomb proof shutters and re-enforced walls, all the parts lying around means your average grey could build any improvised weapon they needed. And on hippie it's hard to get banned unless you A: kill or crit people as a non antag, B: release deadly deadly things as a non antag or C: crash the server. Other servers tend to have a reputation for being stuffy and more like actual work that a game (HRP is often jokes about on this thread and every other major SS13 community barring the forums of the HRP servers themselves)
I've been playing Goon for the past few weeks. My favorite thing about it is how I can set off a bomb I made and, as long as nobody else is seriously injured, I don't get boinked. I've spent many rounds after I lost interest in playing going to disposals, grabbing a the fuel tanks and a welder, and then finding somewhere remote to do some explosive science. :dog:
If in doubt go Paradise, or if you like a challenge, go Vorestation. [sp]don't actually[/sp]
No fuck you man, you told me to go there, so i'll do it. Send me the IP i'm going in
No fuck you man, you told me to go there, so i'll do it. Send me the IP i'm going in
afaik they're actually pretty chill and won't be eating you if you tell them not to

So for in my experience, Baystation has been pretty okay and good enough for a heavy-rp server. But they are quite picky about their rules; no memetic gimmicks (memes, straight references or playing as 'Han Solo' from SW), suicide is a taboo, everything has to be kept IC and killing is restricted to only necessary means. You won't get bonked on if you don't do your job, instead we are chill about it and just react as in-character and guide and help you through it via IC and LOOC. Everything is slow enough to give you enough time to plan, think and do something. The downside though is the average round is usually 3 hours long, unless there is something interesting going on, which the round can through voting extended with another hour until next voting. And if there is no antagonist, the admins won't hesitate to look for volunteers to antagonize. If there is no volunteers, they'll run you over with a bus. Additionally, blobs do exist on Baystation, but are computer-controlled and do only appear as a random event. It is the only place you can be one hundred per cent damn sure to find cooperation in fighting against those. glares at Hippe's Personally, Lifeweb is perhaps the best place with the most freedom you can find. If you can manage with the alienated mechanics and cope with the adult themes.
But we removed blob from the rotation on Hippie.
I tried doing HRP once, it was excruciating.
But we removed blob from the rotation on Hippie.
I thought that was because the blobs found out you could just fuck off into space and the crew could not do jack shit to stop you because you could expand to victory size and never have anyone see a SINGLE blob tile ever.
