My friend just sent me this, but the forums are currently down. Is this for real!? EDIT: Nope. My friend is a dingus. Here is the real post:

Apparently if you're an alien on cm, running away from an orbital beacon before it smites you is fine, but avoiding a predator's self-destruct is metagame and worthy of being gibbed. Not exactly cool. edit: This is also the case if you're a marine. If see you see a predator, don't bother trying to kill it because in the off-chance you do, you'll be forced to sit in its nuke range or otherwise be punished.

We struck a business deal, and I'm thinking that character's gonna be written off in some shady intergalactic booze smuggling business. Kal-Cosgrove Liquor dealings, llc.
does anyone else find colonial marines fun? i like it because of the constant action and mix of roleplay, but marines are seriously underpowered. aliens win 70% of the time
does anyone else find colonial marines fun? i like it because of the constant action and mix of roleplay, but marines are seriously underpowered. aliens win 70% of the time
yeah, i play on it often as a medic and i've been enjoying it. it's unfortunate when you get put in a squad with bad players but thankfully that doesn't seem to be common. getting punished for avoiding the predator's self-destruct is new to me - definitely bullshit if that's happening. there was a time when marines killed one on the sulaco and got out of dodge before it went off, and there was a staff member who knew about it but didn't punish them. haven't really seen a predator die more recently though.
So yesterday on Hippie I managed to get an oh-so-coveted wizard round, it took me a while to come up with a build, to the point where an admin even asked if I had gone AFK. I whittled it down to four options. "The loud negra, Rainbow Ride, Magic Missile BEES simulator" Jaunt - staff of animation - Recall - everything else on magic missile: The idea being to keep evading while I steadily amass an army of everything. Casting magic missile to pin enemies while my creations go to town. "The little bit of everything"Curse of cluwne - Jaunt - Belt 'o wands - Charge - Magic Missile: Belt of wands and charge has been a firm favourite combo of mine, just for the simple fact that the wand of healing can be used on yourself instantly for a full heal at any time. Plus the crew often like it when you keep polymoprhing them till they become an alien or syndieborg. "Necromancer Extraordinaire!" Lichdom - Jaunt - Recall - As many necromantic stones as you can buy afterwards. Get to station, kill a nerd or two, Summon skeletons of their corpses. Kill more nerds and storm the station with an army of skeletons. And the last combo, but by no means the least interesting was what I like to call the "Immortal Smashfucker": Lichddom - Jaunt(Pattern here, there's a reason Goon made jaunt a spell all wizards have by default) - Mutate - Recall - Curse of Cluwne - Plasma FIST! Plan would be to go in- mutate, punch nerds, cluwne survivors, cause general havoc. Resurrect on death, come back and do it AGAIN! I opted for build SMASHFUCKER! After farting around on the wizard shuttle (literally) I picked up my suddenly disembodied butt and headed stationwards. I bound my soul to my ass and hid it in a hidden walled off area in north cargo maint. From here it was a case of mutate, plasma fist in some nerds, cluwne any time it was off CD and generally be annoying. In the end due to lag it was actually hard to get off any combos that didn't start with harm intent, and only because it knocks people down as hulk. Still in the end I didn't kill all that many people, for the most part they would back off as I hit them with a few eye lasers, so I just kept walking around not giving a shit about stuns and beating up the only borg on station whom I'm sure died twice. I did use the plasma fist abilty on one poor shaft miner and threw his brain in robotics for fun. After some more wandering around cluwing nerds i went to the kitchen for food, as using eye lasers uses up your hunger bar and being slow is a death sentence. It was here they managed to catch me out of mutate with ONE lucky stun and shoot me down, I called my now near dead agressor (laser eyes are dope) to "come closer" and with my last breath, cluwne his ass. Now in the meantime they are stripping me off and feeding my bones into the gibber, celebrating their triumphant victory. In the meantime I chat it up with the ghosties, most of whom were salty cluwnes who got killed by the security team whom wanted their ez valids as opposed to dealing with the wizard casually sauntering down the hallway. Skip forward a few seconds and I cast RISE AGAIN! teleporting to the location of my butt ready to rip and read anew! However there was a problem, a bug meant that upon resurrection I not longer had plasma fist which crippled my offensive capapbilities, which sucked. At first I thought it might be intentional but an admin confirmed it it was a "known issue" had this not been the case this build would have gone from good to amazing, but whatever, I still had curse of the cluwne and could still go hulk at will. by now the shuttle was coming and all i did was punch and cluwne nerds from here on in. I died a couple more times because without plasma fist i lacked a reliable stun but eh, nobody found my soul butt so no biggie. I considered recalling the shuttle but it was kinda lowpop and half the crew were cluwnes by this point. So I just went about my merry way. The shuttle launched during one of my ressurections so I went to go beat up the AI who thus far had done jack shit besides spam vox_login and ASS BLAST USA all day. The round ended just a little before I could kill the AI, but the Admin on at the time teleported everyone alive to my current location, where we had a big ol' brawl in the AI core. I jaunted into the wall and watched as the round came to an end.

It usually leads to more intense gameplay at the moment. We're exploring ways to make gradual marine victories a bit more fun.

Would likely have a semi-chance of confusing xenos temporarily.- just a cosmetic thing, some xenos will not see it as a machine, others will see through the guise. All of them will be suspicious to the xeno, though.

Which can ruin literally everything. The aforementioned running away from predators about to go nuclear for example, when in every depiction in source material when they DO arm their last ditch nuke they frantically type into their gauntlet, it beeps rather ominously and they start laughing at you. I dunno about you but if some bit of alien tech started beeping faster and faster I would run the fuck away. But nope, that's "meta", you stay and die or get banned which sucks because OOCly you know you are going to die and you could just hold left for a few seconds and NOT die, people hate having control ripped away from them like this. There's also this example on reddit https://www.reddit.com/r/SS13/comments/52pb57/they_love_me/ THe long and short of it is guy sees xenos charging out the cargo bay, guy shoots fuel tank near cargo bay to blow up Xenos, guy gets instant "never to be lifted ever ever" permaban. I can't be sure of the whole story but if this is a first time offence thing then getting perma'd for the very cool sounding blowing up a horde of enemies by shooting the gas tank out scenario seems WAAAAY over the top. There's a reason why the CM server has a bit of a reputation.
Last night, Goon had their once-a-month event Ass Day, in which chaos reigns supreme and the admins do whatever and the walls and the windows and the engine and all the fuel canisters turn into pizza and the pizza fuel canisters explode because pizza is not durable enough to contain massive volumes of poisonous flammable gas I mean that and other things
(Hopefully) The last on the citadel drama. So apparently the headmin of citadel (who perma'd me 3 times lel) has been talking MAD shit behind my back to my friends in an effort to get them pissed at me. I dunno what he's been talking but a few of the admins I was previously cool with are super pissed at me and were looking for any reason to shit on my parade. After I was bantering to a friend on their discord about "what a shit name lmao" then posted a autism wikihow article, A what was close friend who as of recent went "FINALLY I CAN BAN HIM" and then poof. Only after did another guy tell me that the headmin had his own circlejerk TS and went on huge rants about me and other people. It actually took some furry who I really hated to tell me about it, telling people I was "Public enemy number 1" or something fucking stupid to that manner. So yeah TLDR citadel isn't just a yiff fuckfest, it's a yiff fuckfest with keemstar as the headmin it seems. Ah well, after all that shit the playerbase has dropped 30 players average so I guess I did good. And it seems I'm as notable as cuban pete on there so I'm happy I left my mark.
Someone at citadel was telling banned people that #coderbus at tgstation was the ban appeals channel.
hello everyone and welcome to another episode of what to not do today's topic is: metagaming with your friends and uploading a recording of it on youtube well if it was that important to you why did you break the rules and made it public what's also funny is that the thumbnail is stolen from our very own kierany9 because creativity is hard
Has there ever been a round where everyone is a traitor but like they don't know everyone is a traitor. It would be hilarious seeing everyone trying not to get caught.
Half of the players will start to murderbone asap tho
Has there ever been a round where everyone is a traitor but like they don't know everyone is a traitor. It would be hilarious seeing everyone trying not to get caught.
The station would be bombed to bits before 10 minutes had passed.
Baystation used to have Extend-A-Traitormongus, which was extended mode with a random player (or random players) becoming a traitor every now and then, which is SORT OF but not really like that.
Has there ever been a round where everyone is a traitor but like they don't know everyone is a traitor. Station gets more fucked up during extended than most other game modes, most of the time.
Has there ever been a round where everyone is a traitor but like they don't know everyone is a traitor.
I'm not sure what'9 more terrifying A clown with nine pairs of arms, or that it's actually just nine clown standing behind each other.
why not both?
I had a really tame shadow long round where 2/3 slings died and the third one did jack shit. They only enthralled one crew member too. I was Captaon and even refused to call the shuttle because there was zero emergencies going on
i've been switching to wasd controls because it is hard to set up macros with arrow keys as many keys are taken up around the arrows just curious, vote optimistic if you use arrow keys, and useful if you use wasd
Hotkey mode/wasd changed my life after playing with out them for half a decade. Anyone who I get to play this game, I train em in hotkey mode configuration.
I've always played with hotkeys and genuinely can't see how some people play without.
The only advantage non-hotkey mode has over hotkey mode is that you can walk while typing.
