Coincidentally the same round I run a captain = queen gimmick is a rev round. That was the longest and most stealthiest revolution I've ever seen.

SS13 does not take well to smoothing. I'd say it'd look better as pixelated than upscaled and smoothed. If you really need to upscale, nearest neighbor that shit

Some end of round admin shenanigans are great, the admins spawned in a buncha ghosts and left us armour, assault rifles, shields and grenades. One of them got separated from the rest of the team, and the Ling ate him, then started killing the rest of them. Then a Death Squad got called. He killed all of them. Then the shuttle arrived, and as it was leaving the admins spawned in a bunch of Death Squad-geared people and shoved ghosts into them, on CentComm. The Ling died, but so did 90% of the squids.(Mostly because some fucknut tried to throw a grenade onto the shuttle [I]through the window[/I])

Also, never tried Scientist before but done Roboticist plenty of times - am I in for a ton of fun?

By the time the shuttle arrives, they've already won(Green-text and all), so it's basically just a way of giving the people who got killed a bit of catharsis in being able to fire an assload of lasers into the guy who ate their face off.

Also, never tried Scientist before but done Roboticist plenty of times - am I in for a ton of fun?[/QUOTE] Generally whenever someone calls in ERT or Deathsquad, be it before the round ends or after, I think it's moreover the fact that they're [I]prolonging[/I] the round by not getting the shuttle called when they go on those murderboning sprees, and there's just a bunch of players sitting out of the round unable to do anything. Except maybe enter a drone. Sometimes as a drone, I head over to the exosuit fabricator and build more drones. If you do become a roboticist, building drones is a good way to bring ghosted players into the round again.

Out of intrest, would you agree with this? So I was fucking about with a dude wanting to kick my ass. I didn't know who it was but I know they wanted me fucked. I had a riot shield from the abandoned place and suddenly I notice this unknown following me. I try to do the slip on him and he disarms me and takes my shit when know ones around. Oh well, it's just a shield I guess. But later on this dude randomly hits me with the shield, so I start retreating. I get out of his way and stop, to see if he was actually trying to hit me or not. And he hits me, before taking out an axe. I'm not having that shit so I do the old slip and kill with his own weapon. Should I of been catbanned for that, because apparently I didn't have any evidence to suggest he was out for me, even though the dude literally pulled an fireaxe on me after following me and making sure I was alone.

Ohhh wow, is this the biggest personality to play SS13 yet? At least it seems like he has the right attitude about it, entertaining editing (good idea to resort to text-to-speech) and he doesn't link directly to any servers or even to BYOND website so at least he didn't completely open the floodgates.

If Oney is one guy that's going to do this, it's likely others are soon to follow after. At least, that's my guess.

why are people so afraid of new people joining anyways besides the "hurr durr greytide worldwide" it's good for the community as a whole to gain more people. I for one would love to see a big increase in both playercount and active servers. and fresh blood is guaranteed to help keeping the game alive.

It would have been counterproductive to have given out any links at all and he didn't. Plus, he didn't even show chat or his own username. Shows that he has at least a minimal amount of knowledge about the game and the community.

If there were a lot more servers it'd be good, but if even 500 more people want to play SS13 in a week's time it'll all go to shit pretty fast I'd love to see the game get more popular, but there's pretty much no infrastructure for it

well that's the thing increase in players = increase in server demand = more variety

Hey so just FYI since Eve online has gone free to play there is straight up an alliance forming of just F2P players that use the assistant with a toolbox as their motif and their broadcasted advert is just full of SS13 references. Grey tide galaxy wide.

As someone who's spent a lot of time trying to get new people into the game, stop bitching whenever new people get into the game. I don't code this shit for snowflake circlejerks, I code for players to have fun. This includes ALL players, not just old or new ones.

It's also like 80% of the reason I never tried to get anyone else into it. Major change happens on a codebase or a new server comes up, "how do I do this job, sorry I haven't played ss13/this codebase in a long time/before?" has been a question that has resulted in me being banned, repeatedly meta-gamed and subsequently murdered for "incompetence", insulted in OOC relentlessly for a few minutes, etc.

(Granted, one of those times, I responded by immediately throwing a minibomb at him, since he was my target. :v:)

Some guy told me to "just keep on walking" when I came across him absorbing someone in the middle of medbay

Someone in Hippiestation once outright admitted they were a traitor at the beginning of the round and said he "didn't care about his objectives". He was my fellow roboticist. I told him as long as he's not emagging the bots and trying to not kill me I see no problem. One of the first things he did was immediately kill someone the instant they broke into robotics [I](as people always do)[/I], and forcefully borged him. He emagged the bots. I didn't tell on him, but security eventually found out and knew he was the one responsible, while I was just a bystander. Sat by the surgery table while security wailed on him. He had to go emag the bots, the absolute madman.
