Sorry to quote an old post but I just pulled this off on hippie and it was glorious.
I was a victim of it. Good game, friend.

Supposedly someone was cloned/defibbed five times and each time they died to the bees.
I would say I feel bad but I would be lying.
you're asking for a lot, man :pudge:
I can't really be blamed for it can i?
I usually expect a game to follow the same general rules, but playing on any different SS13 server is like playing a different game :v:
It just feels like there's quite a big list of things you gotta readjust yourself to, at least on the servers i hop between :v
-Automerge is kill-
What stations run tg or similar code and don't use boxstation? Boxstation is nice and all, but I like playing different stations every once and awhile to break things up. Any decent servers have rotating maps nowadays?

Ironically /tg/ has map rotation.

/vg/station, while having Boxstation, has a few different stations. they actually just pushed a new map, Bagelstation, to their code, which has some similarities to the old Donutstation. i'm pretty sure their code is similar to TGstation's code, too
Ironically /tg/ has map rotation.
I didn't even realise that it did when i first joined
Got really confused when everything suddenly was wrong
Ironically /tg/ has map rotation.
Yeah, but at the same time it is tg
I didn't really understand the hate for TG, but just the other day I accidentally set up the super matter shard wrong and got scolded by an admin for it. He then linked me to a wiki article on how to perfectly set it up and told me not to let it happen again. (I don't like playing through the wiki.)
On goon I accidentally exploded all of engineering, and melted the majority of the main hallways. I didn't even get messaged by an admin about it.
It's like I knocked over a teetering vase, and the TG admins get all angry while the goon admins are all "LOL how'd you fuck up so bad".
TG was actually the first Station server i played on ages ago
Though it then got a bit shit so i jumped to Hippie
And now that Hippie is rather meh i jumped back to TG
What a viscious cycle :v
The only thing i can't seem to figure out though is some of the crafting and cooking, i don't seem to be able to put anything in ovens or microwaves, i just kinda smack them together, even on help intent
I used to play Nox which stopped moderating and didn't tell anyone at one point I remember. Nox was a shithole, but in a fun way.
I stopped playing once ss13 turned into mostly drama. Is it even worth it trying again? Are there any good servers which will remind me of ye olde days?
I've played hippie for the majority of my spessman life but now I prefer tg
Hippies comminity can be asbestos aidscancer but dear god are tg's coder team a bunch of twats at times.
Like when they merged the "removes gang mode" pr without a fucking changelog or deleting the wiki page.
Same goes for this little PR here about clockwork cult. https://github.com/tgstation/tgstation/pull/27893
I honestly miss how SS13 made me feel when I started playing it, everything was so interesting and fun. Now I can't get myself to go back to it.

I know the feeling, it's like playing pokemon for the first time and everything being so big and daunting and not knowing what to expect with every corner being another discovery.
That being said, I keep finding new and interesting memes to try out and usually by the time I finish me checklist I get a hankerin' for some other thing or something new gets added.

In their defence clockcult is shit

i'll continue to shill /vg/station. reminds me a lot of back when i played on goonstation a long time ago though people are definitely more light to medium roleplay-y
In their defence clockcult is shit
I disagree and its one of my favourite modes but opinions are opinions.

LOL when did SS13 not have drama, the game was practically molded by it.

I haven't played in a little while but always found it too convoluted, with too many different abilities you'd never use or understand. If you're a newer cultist you'd either get trampled by security ten minutes in or be lucky to have a fellow cultist who knows what he's doing and carry the round for you. The maintainer has an obvious slant toward the mode and seems to buff it every week, meanwhile blood cult has been completely neglected

Tbf if the engine blows up on tg you've basically single-handedly ended the round. Its real shit for someone to be doing their job, a gimmick,an event, or even antagging and having it just straight up ruined because one dude in engineering fucked up the engine and now the shuttles coming as soon as possible.
Using that as an excuse to hate TG just seems silly. You (could've? idk if you actually blew the engine) basically stopped everything because you didn't know what you were doing. Having an admin tell you why thats not cool is literally their job.

Having the engine blow up being bad is self-evident; I don't need an admin bonking me about it (Before it blew up, moments before I got gibbed from the engine exploding as I responded to him), and no it doesn't end the round. There's many alternative power sources, just wall off engineering and set up a pac-man, solars, or the gas generator.
[editline]asdf[/editline]
I just really didn't like the "go look at the wikipedia article on how to do everything so you never fuck up" mentality. I like to experiment from time to time, even if it means exploding the engines.

Don't put all the coders in the same basket. Yeah, they've made questionable decisions before but the gang pr for example was merged by one maintainer without any sort of backup from anyone else because they HATED gang with every fiber of their body. It was reverted immediately after when people took notice.
Just a few bad apples for the most part.
That clockcult pr is gonna eat shit aswell.
I hate cult gamemodes by the way

Yeah it really does end the round because it gives everyone radiation+hallucinations, destroys engineering, atmos, telecomms, and destroys power unless someone orders and sets up a second engine (lol) or solars gets set up (whats the point).
He's boinking you because you just fucked shit up majorly as a non-antag, thats what admims do amigo. He doesn't know if you did it on purpose, or if you really didn't know.
If you want to experiment with the engine, ask other players while you do it. Experimenting with the stations extremely volatile deadly is not like experimenting with chemistry or botany. You literally hold other peoples rounds in your hand.
This isn't just a TG thing. They might not bwoink you about it on Goon, but on literally every other station, blowing up the engine on a nonantag is going to have an admin ask you why the fuck it happened.
ss13 is dead
it's time to let go and play actual video games instead of arguing traitor vs sec balance for the 2 billionth time
