i love hopping into the end of a round after a few months of not playing, where anarchy reigns supreme. it is like hopping back into home
I'd like everyone to check out a goon admin's response to a specific person's ban appeal. I don't really participate on goonstation at all, but this caught my eye because it was brought to my attention. https://forum.ss13.co/showthread.php?tid=9687 (or https://archive.is/UBc4M if for some reason that link is dead or changed) It's long, but it's beautiful.
I clicked the link I saw mastaflips havent even read it but its gonna be good
every time I see mastaflips my heart skips a beat because I just saw a cryptid
In the process of making a bar/kitchen remake for aurorastation. Don't think it will get approved though because the lead developer doesn't like 10 different things about the general layout. [t]https://i.imgur.com/axuLi85.png[/t]

Maybe if there was a disposal chute linking to that area, but otherwise. It just feels weird to me.

[t]https://i.imgur.com/gcg0q3P.png[/t] [editline]5th December 2017[/editline] If I had 100% confidence that my work would be pulled, I would completely overhaul the service section to be as stress-free as possible.
This is what I hate most about SS13, there are a myriad of fun possibilities coded into the game, supported by the server but Administrators forbid you to use it instead of them just removing something """""""forbiddien""""""
To be fair, this is mostly a problem with HRP servers.
A problem with Aurora is that Traitoring can be annoying because you have to have an actual and good/fun reason to kill someone on top of the already required coordination + teamwork. It's a great idea on paper but horrible in execution. Revolution: Idea: Loyalists vs Revs, Loyalists have to do something awful, Revs have to respond by consensually asking people to join the Revolution. Revolution rises up to the loyalist's tyranny and an epic fight ensues. Practice: Loyalists implement martial law, no one gives a shit, revs ask people to join awkwardly, Rev leaders don't know what the fuck to even do, rev members end up doing stupid shit like attacking officers with their fists or bombing science. Normal Traitor: Idea: Traitors take up user-submitted contracts or pursue their own gimmick. They can use aooc to establish codewords and come up with ideas while bringing quality rp to the round. Practice: Traitors don't know what to fucking do because they have to ask an admin every time they want to harm something such as a fly. Drug people as chef and put them in the gibber? No you have to RP with them first by holding them hostage for 10 minutes. Assassinate the Captain? Nah you have to negotiate his release. Hijack the shuttle? No fuck you it's baycode you can't do that. Contracts that you can take up don't give you brownie points or anything, it's for ideas only and rp rules apply. Wizard/Ninja: Idea: Wizard/Ninja disrupts the station stealthily or uses their own creative gimmick to provide entertainment to the crew. Practice: Wizard/Ninja greets the crew. Security welcomes them with open arms despite not having a valid ID and not being on the manifest. Wizard/Ninja RPs with friends, nothing happens. Changeling/Vamp: Idea: what the fuck is the idea behind this honestly Practice: Vampires/Changelings don't exist. You're not supposed to know what they are. Spend 2 hours wondering why your friend is acting strange and not give a shit because you'll get in trouble for metagaming. Embrace death as the Changeling/Vamp uses the power of bullshit to suck you into the abyss.
To be fair, this is mostly a problem with HRP servers.
You can still give swirlies in Col Mar. Pity you're incredibly unlikely to get away with it. I did once, as an interrogation.
where's the money lebowski
Lag on hippiestation aside, it sure has been getting a lot of downtime lately. The new host hasn't really been faring well.
Quick question for everybody, what's the best fight you've ever been involved with in ss13?
Quick question for everybody, what's the best fight you've ever been involved with in ss13?
3vs3 rev vs sec fight in the wardens office with each person desperately clawing and disarming each other for a good 5 minutes. Think of that Saving Private Ryan scene near the end with the knife fight.
Quick question for everybody, what's the best fight you've ever been involved with in ss13?
As an assistant, beating the shit out of the captain when I only had one arm. It was like a 5 minute long fight in medbay. He kept trying to shoot me with lasers, but since I had no legs, I was on the ground crawling, so all the shots would miss. I think he accidentally shot someone into crit. It all started when I stomped on a rat that centcom sent as a nanotrasen official, and there was no announcement about it :v:
Lag on hippiestation aside, it sure has been getting a lot of downtime lately. The new host hasn't really been faring well.
Apparently hippiestation used to crash jsut as much anyway, its jsut everyone had access to the box to reboot it.
Apparently hippiestation used to crash jsut as much anyway, its jsut everyone had access to the box to reboot it.
Hippie used to crash like every other round at one point. It was horrible.
Quick question for everybody, what's the best fight you've ever been involved with in ss13?
I was abducted by some ayylien. I was put on the operating table and the person doing the operation was clearly new. Sleep drugs wore off, broke out of my handcuffs and out of the operating table. He's like "oh my god" and ended up knocking me to the floor and throwing me in the testing chamber. Later I broke out of the testing chamber, knocked him to the ground, grabbed the thing that looked like a bandsaw and robusted him. I looted the small ship, grabbed his corpse, teleported back to the station by mashing on the console. Unfortunately the emergency shuttle left the station at that point so I just called the AI on a holopad and presented the corpse because I just had to show someone. AI was impressed.
I think I had a pretty good fight today: https://imgur.com/a/ezEna
Not something I would pay $20 for and I don't think other people who actively play ss13 would pay for.
Because it costs money or it's 3D?
It's nothing like ss13 nor is it trying to be.
Stationeers is quite a promising game, as for it not trying to be like SS13 it's certainly heavily based on it, even down to the clunky inventory system, once modding support is fully in I can see it being an alternative to SS13.

join hrp server 6 months ago laugh at all the snowflake characters 6 months later make a species whitelist app on a hrp server realise that your character whitelist application starts off with "isn't like the rest of her kind" cry yourself to sleep

https://www.reddit.com/r/SS13/comments/7lonvf/hop_finds_way_in_low_rp_server/ A good roleplayer on a server like hippie can cause all kinds of shenanigans.
There's an AI on Hippie that goes by the name of RayzenTec. He always manages to faithfully act like an actual AI on Hippie which helps make things a bit more fun.

Unless you upload custom laws, then he will punish every inch of your stupidity. Oh and good luck if he is malf, fucker once led a captain on a wild goose chase around the station after an imaginary changeling while he prepped the doomsday device.
