That's why as janitor I place wet floor signs on dry floors and let wet floors speak for themselves. 60% of the time, it works every time. And yeah exactly, tbh I love the concept of Colonial Marines so I'm excited to see if they follow through with this or if its just to keep the target on Apophis's back instead of CM as a whole.
This seems quite promising. SS13 is in dire need for servers with skilled administration and less rules, what with the tens of hard RP "You have been banned for: griefing by running too fast in the hallway".
If yer looking for a CM style server with more fun and less RP rules try saking a peek as SpaceStation: Corporate Mercenary. It's currently in development and is only up for testing every so often but they best way to describe it is that it is to CM what Hippie/Goon is to baystation. It's got some real neat shit like friendly fire being near impossible (without the use of actual fire) a universal attachment system so you can stuck a chainsaw bayonett on your revolver or have a flamethrower with underbarrell flamethrower. Oh and you can get a suit of knight armour and a sword and shield and lead a crusade vs the xenos. The xenos play more like tyranids/zerg than traditional xenomorphs, leading to the nickname xerganids, they kill and consume the enemy to gain biomatter to expand the hive and the xenos capabilities, and the xenos get a set of skill trees to evolve into rather than castes. The queen is more like an oivermind, less egg shitting and more sending a hive wide directive to "KILL DAT FUKKEN CLOWN!!" Mercs enter the battle via drop-pod, shuttles can acutally be flown as opposed to "push button to warp to surface" Oh and because its very very hard to actually grief, there are few to none in the way of rules, and yet the roleplay seems to be pretty good. I got to the drop-pods as a squad commander, I was dressed ion full knightly gear as a real squad leader should. Three men wearing death korps of kreig armour show up, two Starwars stormtroopers and a guy wearing an oversized mcdonalds happy meal box. We all took our pod chairs and the box guy gave us a rousing speech about how we are the best McMercs that McBux can buy! We're going to take our McDrop-pods down to the McPlanet and McKick the McAliens McFucking McAssess and be back just in time for a round of McNuggets. If that sounds fun to you, here's the discord. https://discord.gg/fqdJnS
I was there that test, on the discord the CO went 'I'm gonna go send Alpha to their deaths, everyone else to the objective.' Everyone fucking started laughing when the main force got destroyed and Alpha was the last squad standing. There's also the flak and inferno incidents. I'd say corporate mercenary is superior to colonial marines in every way.
It really unironically is. Corporate Mercenary removes so much of the annoying, anti-fun bullshit mechanics in Colonial Marines and is just in general much more intelligently designed.
I just hope they stop havign snap tests a 4am in the morning...
