I am gonna try playing on Hippie.
I am used to yogs and until now I've never been able to play on any other server, I hope it's going to be as sleek as yogs.

why is almost every round on hippie a ling one? maybe im just getting unlucky with when I join but it seems nearly all the time for me atm its annoying
Been playing a fair bit of Hippie lately, and I'm extremely tired of everything getting raised through ahelp. I was tazed, searched, handcuffed and then placed in a cell for 5 minutes for no reason. I decided to take it with the intention to exact revenge. I took revenge, then I immediately get an admin ping about it questioning me about why I did it telling me that I should have raised that through ahelp which was a normal RP scenario of shitcurity running the station instead of taking it into my own hands.
This is the second time something like this has happened, and whenever I retaliate I'm the one that seems to get in hot water for it. I mean, if I'm in the wrong for doing that then by all means I'd love to know but I just think it's extremely petty to have to raise everything you feel is unjust to admins which is why I almost never do it.
Great server otherwise aside from an abundant amount of ling rounds.

On the flipside I've gone to the border of every cell in sec at roundstart and burned a hole in them with thermite and never gotten a Bwoink out of it. It's odd what's considered bad and what's not.

Changelings are absolute shit, I have no idea why people like them. They're literally designed around stealth-murdering as many people as possible while they have no way of escaping and can't be cloned because husking. And instead of being good at either stealth or combat, they're incredible at both and blow any other antagonist out of the water in terms of durability and power. They can also be traitors as well, god help you if you run into a competent traitorling.

Yeah I'm encountering this a lot as well. Went into maint at the start of a round once and that was that, I was a husk five seconds later. I just don't know how that's meant to be fun.

Reminds me of how, the first time I got Ling/any antag actually on Hippie, I spawned as an Atmos Tech. The other guy killed me [I]three times[/I] before he finally got around to absorbing me. I spectated him for a while, but alt-tabbed and kinda tuned the game out. About half an hour later, I checked back, and saw that he had spent the last half hour killing people on the arrivals shuttle and absorbing them, and yet apparently that was completely okay because none of the admins did anything.
TL;DR Murmic Chilline is an asshole and I'm still salty about my first changeling round on the server being fucked by him. :disgust:

Husks CAN be cloned but you gotta take the brain out and put it in a monkey person.

I think you can clone husks and suicides with an upgraded scanner, too. That may be just on baycode, though.

IIRC, being able to clone husks require upgrades from R&D. On baycode being husked doesn't make you uncloneable.

I honestly think that shit like that should invoke a Rule 1 ban/catban.
Any type of instant killing should be punished imo

It's not even the fact that changelings murderbone, but the fact that they keep recalling the fucking shuttle making the round stretch on with half the station dead braying for blood as ghosts while they potter around and stun-cuff little johnny one-two murder everyone.
And these are probably the people who COMPLAIN about validhunting, in my opinion validhunting and murderboning are two sides of the same shitty coin. People get killed at roundstart by some e-sword and e-bow donk-knob so they get pissed and make it their mission to go kill a tator next round, who in turn gets pissed and decides next time HE gets a tator round he's going to go on a spree at round-start to make the most of it etc...
Antags should be about fun, and doing all the crazy shit you could never ever do, there's a reason that I praise competent miners every RD round I have, because the one day I DO get that coveted RD tator round I pray that I'll have a team of willing miners on hand to supply me with the mats I need for my Robot Augmented Rampage... I'll even spare their lives if I come across them, I MIGHT even give them a few toys if they promise to scuttle off and hide.
Last time I got an antag it was a mid round ling antag... oh boy was that ever fun... heck the other lings just humanized all the monkies and ate them not wanting to make the round any more bullshit that it was. I recalled the shuttle once to give us a chance and the admins just put out the unrecallable 25 min shuttle, honestly I agree with that notion as midround lings are THE WORST, not only is the station reeling from whatever was the primary antag, and it's usually blob so half the station is dead and broken, but now Lings have to go about and do their stuff.
So I finally got my first chance to properly play Changeling without the server crashing or getting immediately killed and it's definitely fun to play as one but my hatred of playing against them still stands. They're just impossible to detect, and unless you have a fucking mob on your side, you can't keep them down for any reasonable period of time because there's jack shit you can do to actually stop their regen. The entire gamemode concept seems flawed to be honest.

Usually the moment there is potential for lings the chef usually takes out the gibber. It only takes one person to take down and destroy one if you manage to get them to the gibber or crematorium in the 2 minutes it takes. Cuff them and get an officer or two on your side and you are golden.

On goon, you can get the necroscan that lets you clone any amount of deterioration; but yeah on most stations you can also swap brains.
