I find it weird that every review on steam mentions that they played the game for hundreds of hours before steam release, it's just odd that it's always the first sentence in most reviews.
I've played for hundreds of hours shit you're right I wonder if it's contagious.
1,843 playing 33 min ago on steamcharts and that is the all-time peak as well as of now it has been going up since release let's see over the weekend how many players hold on to it.
Oooh, this is the game I played last year, damn, didn't realise it had been just over a year since I played this game, time went by fast.
Didn't even realise I'd played this during it's alpha stage when it was open to the public. Picked it up thinking it'd be fun, but it's not really that great. It's pretty much the "spend 5 minutes every time you die slowly crafting the weapons and ammunition you need, before heading off to the frontlines to die again" simulator. Logistics aspect of the game is boring and janky (vehicles don't even drive properly, they float and instant spin everywhere). You pull up to the manufacturing stuff, click on stuff for a few minutes, then spin your ass back to where it's gotta go and drop it off. Also, every vehicle you come across is locked, cause some idiot locks it, runs to the frontlines, dies, and forgets where he parked. Gunplay isn't satisfying. I can put 4 or 5 bullets into someone with an SMG at close range and they're still up, but they'll instant kill me with a rifle. Movement is also very floaty, so if you come under fire, gg wp you're pretty much dead and if you try to run away you'll just be shot in the ass cheek and slow to a crawl. I'll also be hit with a game breaking bug every so often where my gun refuses to load despite having ammo. And hopping into vehicles requires a solid 30 seconds of running around said vehicle spamming Q until it lets you in. Oh, and hopping out of vehicles sometimes gets you clipped into objects, and if someone doesn't move it for you, you're stuck there unable to escape. And razor wire has some weird singularity effect where if you touch it in the slightest, it sucks you in and you need to slooooowly walk out of it. Understandable if it's an enemy bit of wire, but for team-placed wire, it's a little too much. [editline]29th July 2017[/editline] And another downside I forgot to mention: those dumb fucking pillboxes that can rise and lower themselves into the ground basically means you can't push against them at all unless you have tanks or rockets to back you up. Inventory encumbrance is a royal pain in the ass, so some poor sap has to dedicate his entire loadout to an RPG and pistol combo, else he'll be too slow to actually be effective. Also MG people who just sit and spray offscreen in your general direction.
Sounds like it has improved massively then since I last played it.
Bought this and really enjoyed it. I'm kinda looking for a group to play with, because this game is good but it's great with a group.
Kind of on the fence about this.
Playing it almost every day and really enjoying it. It's the first time ever I enjoy being in a logistics team because people are eternally grateful when you bring them needed supplies.

Frankly if/when they drop the price I may look into picking it up after it's been out for a bit and they've patched these issues up. It doesn't sound like anyone has been having performance issues either which is good news, as those are typically the ones to not get fixed the most in games
Great game, a lot of crazy macro tactics going on
this game is great but holy shit the amount of kiddies in this game is frustrating to say the least it's like with life experience comes common sense. i love this game to bits, but jesus christ the community is the worst i've experienced in a long time. there's a lot of good players, but all it takes is one bad one (and it's always a kiddie) to ruin the entire experience an example is that I built a shlew of halftracks, fuelled them up and armed them with ammunition. I sent them off in good hands because they were players that I was playing with for the last hour, who I knew were effective at holding off the frontline. some new player didn't like that at all, and he discovered that the players were kind enough to let him ride as a passenger so the second they'd get out of the vehicle he'd hop in to the driver seat and take off with it, because why would you need to lock your vehicle when you're all alone with people you trust right? and naturally he'd take off and lose the vehicle within seconds. he'd drive it to the front, hop out to get in the gunner seat and get shot before he could even make it to the back of the vehicle next thing I know the halftracks I just built are being used to siege the front against us because this eleven year old dipshit decided that he couldn't wait to go kill people. and this isn't just one instance with one person. this is every server at all hours of the day. it's awful. these players just ruin the game for everyone and they are in droves the game is great and there's a lot of great things about it, but the community is bar none the shittiest out there right now. i'm hoping once the newness wears off, the crappy players disappear and it goes back to being fun
(bad things)
I've only played 5.8 hours so far but i haven't experienced anyone like that. I hope i'm not just lucky because that really sounds horrible.
This is really, really good, and it's promising for an EA game. Devs seem to listen to feedback, they've set up a whole system for collating and logging it. There's something for everyone here. You can try out all the roles in a couple hours, and fall into whatever you feel like doing at the time. You want to hold left-click on lumps of resources for hours on end, like an RTS villager collecting tiberium? You want to ferry resources back and forth between safe towns, or taxi armed players to the frontlines? Organize and direct the flow of those resources, items and weaponry? Spot for a howitzer, and have your buddy who'll understand "ADD 50, FIRE FOR EFFECT, OVER" and rain hell upon entrenched enemies? Or just grab a rifle and hope for the best when you hit the frontline? The game allows for all of it. I've put 27 hours into it over the weekend and while I feel I've already touched upon everything, I can see how it can be expanded with more options for weapons/items and how strong the emergent gameplay aspect of it is, especially with the amount and size of the maps and the fact you can change them radically by building an operating base with a spawn point pretty much anywhere. I am very impressed by this game, it's great! We should organise a FP squad!
Having lots of fun. I'm on able 3 and the game has dragged on for daaaaays. The enemy team is down to one heavily reinforced position and we're basically gridlocked as we cannot move up on them. If logistics falters anywhere on our front they gain ground immediately. [t]http://i.imgur.com/vRH3koc.jpg[/t]
Been running logistics on Able 3. Never before in any game have I found groups of players cheering for even a few shirts.
Been running logistics on Able 3. Never before in any game have I found groups of players cheering for even a few shirts.
I am Ronin on Able3, and i am part of a small logi/spec ops unit that transports shirts and materials to the front lines, as well as sabotage enemy town halls and shirt factories. Ended up blowing one at midnight my time two nights ago, and it threw the enemy team into chaos, allowing us to advance to their front door. [editline]31st July 2017[/editline] I also went by the name Saint for a day because a squad was trolling me constantly.
Hey, I've fought with you Banned. I'm gear jammer/Brad Reeding :v:
If you see a logistics dude called MEME.DADDY, that would be me.

[t]http://i.imgur.com/vRH3koc.jpg[/t]
I was on the Warden side for this and it was heartwrenching. Craigstown has two sources of scrap, a refinery, weapon factory and workshop, and if morale and organization was better we could easily give the tanks Colonials keep throwing at us absolute hell, but the constant artillery bombardments and the fact the tank drivers laugh and cheer as they run over helpless troops has the team in complete disarray. War is hell.

Spent 4 hours with a random guy I found in a half track gunning for him, led many successful pushes and eventually captured a town, and only died a handful of times. I love this game :v:
Was being a sneaky fuck with a small group and was able to satchel charge 2 townhalls due to lack of proper defense planning by the filthy colonials, fuck, this game is awesome

You guys just made me buy this game, hopefully it is as fun as it sounds!
You guys just made me buy this game, hopefully it is as fun as it sounds!
yea it looks fun and all this talk makes it seem pretty fun, I'm close to getting it as well!
Playing on Charlie1 as colonials, anyone else?
Well I bought it, hopefully you guys aren't talking shit about it being good.
I just caved and bought this too, hoping for a Planetside 2 vibe. What's the population like for allies and axis? Is it even on most servers or is one side generally way bigger than the other? [editline]dfgjkh[/editline] Nevermind I was expecting it to be like Planetside where you pick one side and just get stuck with them :v:
Yeah I ain't got the patience for this worth shit, 20 minutes of walking around because everything is locked and I'm miles away from anywhere.
