My favourite time in the game was the first time cause hardly anyone knew what they were doing. Defense is overpowered as fuck right now and makes the game less dynamic IMO.
War is hell, the constant back and forth and desperate scavenging from any supplies off the dead is some fucked up shit. I love it.
I do wish the game wouldn't let people join one side if the sides are too imbalanced. I joined one match that was 8 v 40.
I was playing in the Closed Alpha a little bit before the big update and it was like that and what made it even worst is that a lot of players that was on when I was playing saw nothing wrong with it and even wanted it to stay like that.
Furnost and I played last night and had a pretty successful run. It was mostly logi based, but we did a suicide combat run and accidentally killed 10 people in an attempt to end our own lives. We stockpiled a lot of crates and shipped them to the front: [t]https://steamuserimages-a.akamaihd.net/ugc/858352080348371800/1C446796DDEBFD439404A74E8448B236E902C43E/[/t] We also joined a large infantry rush: [t]https://steamuserimages-a.akamaihd.net/ugc/858352080348371518/A0EFAD9949D18BE05A0F91F7A8D2A67195301869/[/t] I wouldn't say it was the... most successful infantry rush ever, but it got a lot of laughs as we all hid in a giant crater and got naded and swarmed by a squad of Wardens while defending our small hole in the ground. Come and join us! I play most evenings, and you'll catch other folks like Furnost on as well. let's group up and play some more as a group. [FP] Foxhole Discord: https://discord.gg/88RGSGW
is there anyway to reduce the size of the chat box or move it? Get's in the way when you're trying to push a bridge that's angled in the bottom right corner of your screen.
is there anyway to reduce the size of the chat box or move it? Get's in the way when you're trying to push a bridge that's angled in the bottom right corner of your screen.
Just turn your camera by holding the middle mouse button down.
Ran some incredible mortar team interference with the crew, though we quickly realized there isn't much to actually interrupt given the current mechanics. You can blow up a truck, but it doesn't destroy it's contents (which was very annoying when we successfully took down a convoy that was on it's way to build a howitzer position, which, at most, cost the enemy some time and 10 shirts, since they could just grab a truck, kill us, and continue to build) and the carcass of it doesn't linger to block the road. I sustain that the logistic line for explosives and the rarity of sulfur makes that painstaking, though. Tech 5 is just an excuse to need to build your shit way behind your lines, rather than timing the progress of the war. Maybe all similar controlled structures should share their tech levels or something.
Yeah, special ops to actually disrupt logistics don't do much annoyingly. [editline]4th August 2017[/editline] Remember, guys: you can use a wrench to unlock friendly vehicles if they're blocking the way. [editline]4th August 2017[/editline] Does going prone actually make you harder to see at all or can you be seen as you would normally and its just used to get extra cover?
I'm pretty sure going prone makes you harder to see, I was watching a stream and the streamer was shooting some guy, but then they went prone and faded out of view. Bullets will also whizz over your head more often, if you're lucky. It's much better to go prone when you take fire than it is to try and run, cause a single bullet can slow you to 10% speed, whereas going prone gives you a chance to fade out / dodge bullets, whilst leaving you the option of returning fire. I never knew that about wrenches. Doesn't that make locking vehicles a pointless endeavour? Just carry a wrench with you at all times to unlock stuff easily. How are you meant to take out pillboxes / structures as a common soldier? It's hard to do anything in a small squad cause the minute you come up against defenses, you can't do much at all other than fall back or hold the position. Grenades don't blow them up, AT nades need you to be super close.

Look at where the bunker is, throw smoke then throw the HE nades where you think the bunker was. I think foxholes take 3 HE nades while a concrete bunker will take 5. Alternatively flanking or a bazooka will help you take one on alone.
Oh my god, I just used the rifle grenade for the first time. I hope they don't nerf it. [vid]https://my.mixtape.moe/eraeby.webm[/vid]
Is it possible to throw grenades over walls? The first time I tried I ended up blowing up two guys.
Is it possible to throw grenades over walls? The first time I tried I ended up blowing up two guys.
Yes but like in 1st person shooters it's still a good idea to get ready to run.
Oh my god, I just used the rifle grenade for the first time. I hope they don't nerf it. [vid]https://my.mixtape.moe/eraeby.webm[/vid]
that cliff face seems like such a cheese tactic to use, especially if you go sniper. makes it so a majority of players can't even retaliate, unless they've got mortar / cannon / rifle grenades. the rifle grenades don't seem too OP, it gives you plenty of time to run. it seems like a great tool for flushing enemies out of positions.
Probably be a flop tbh but I hope it's not.
Didn't even notice that I posted this... It's a good game, I've been enjoying it for sure! Just a steep initial learning curve
Is it possible to throw grenades over walls? Foxhole is a game about war, logistics and road rage. [vid]https://my.mixtape.moe/bidnit.webm[/vid]
Did some fine engineering today with Bob, wish you guys could join us.
me and bob have played like 10 PM est and nobody else is on/says they wanna join :/
Pictured: Getting completely fed up with trucks blocking the frontline FOB path, proceeding with getting most of those trucks back to motherbase. [vid]https://my.mixtape.moe/xmhmwj.webm[/vid] We got 8. Unfortunately 30 minutes later they were all gone.
the game needs voice comms like Squad. having to rely on text chat for people out of your range is a real big hindrance to effectively communicating. it'd be great if you could set up squads and have a hierarchal voice chat system. Local > Squad > Command Chain (between squad leaders) I can imagine it's a major pain in the ass organizing trucks like that, just to have asshats commandeer them without properly asking for permission
I'm honestly surprised teamwork happens as often as it does in this game. Usually these sorts of games go to shit in regards to teamwork but there are people willing to do all the roles in the game without being told to.
Just bought the game, any tips?

I wish it'd take more than a single guy with a rifle to fuck up a truck. Hauling a bunch of supplies across a long, winding road only for one bullet to incapacitate your truck is really annoying.
Just bought the game, any tips?
If you can stomach staring at the screen hitting the same pile of scrap, you could try tech farming. Fill your backup up with junk, with one of the slots holding tech and find yourself a nice scrap pile to sit at. This way, you won't mine scrap but you will get tech, and while it takes a while to get a large amount of tech, you won't have to wait for scrap piles to respawn.
foxholes and wall spamming is beyond irritating [editline]6th August 2017[/editline] [t]http://i.imgur.com/MqvFFOk.jpg[/t] literally all that red is an endless line of wall and foxholes/pillbox/bunker It doesn't help that half the time the foxholes can just start fucking shooting at you before you can even see them.
I feel like there's a metaphor in here somewhere. [t]http://i.imgur.com/anmuHzg.jpg[/t]
Giving the trucks actual physics would be neat. Because running someone over when you turn and clip them with the rear of your truck isn't really fun.
This game looks interesting. A kind of Project Reality, which I enjoyed a lot. Is there any good tutorial to teach me the in-game mechanics? Or one of you that wants to play together and show me things around?
Went on sale so I got it. So happy I did. This game is fantastic. The voice chat really makes it shine. I feel like without it I would not enjoy it so much. I like how things just organically happen. You could just be alone building in an area then next thing you know that area is the new hot spot on the map with people fighting and screaming vehicles going forward and back people getting ran over. Then things slowly quiet down and now the battle is somewhere else. I haven't latched on to a game in a long time but I see myself playing this for a long time coming. I really hope they just keep improving it because it really is amazing. My only gripes are the bugs (truck hats) and the queue for servers. If you are having a blast then get disconnected for any reason and have to go back in queue you can end up waiting a long time to get back into that specific server.
