Keighley asked Yves about this. Turned out to be false. He heard mention during the conference of "Have the fans participate in the development", and interpreted that as crowdfunding.

The Ubisoft conference was fantastic. No dumb presenters trying too hard to be funny and the developers had the chance to directly show of their games and get emotional. Also the lineup of games was great IMO, there was a bit of everything and they showed a bunch of new IPs.
I said it another thread, I want Hollywood animation films to be like that BGAE trailer with interesting characters, very unique settings and with a bit more mature tones, but still fun. All we get is the same kids movies for the last 10 years.
If Sony revived the old Spyro I'd bust a fucking nut right then and there. Dream announcement.
