Oh I know it's just the only conference I've enjoyed a lot this year was Ubisoft and want to feel hype for one last thing since everything else was very mellow, not as exciting

Sony's entire conference is best summed up with a "Whatever" from me. Never really given much of a damn about their exclusives or their hardware. The select few that I have ever cared about were MGS4 and Little Big Planet, and Yakuza 3 ended up being the game I actually loved the most on the PS3 despite not knowing a thing about it other than I saw a guy stream it for an hour when it came out. Bloodborne was literally the only thing I cared about for the PS4 and after having bought a PS3 despite so little being of interest, and the years since making me realize how fucking disgusting exclusivity is, I couldn't even vaguely justify buying it just for that alone. And nothing here said, "Yeah, go buy our stuff." Everything that was particularly unique or special for Sony was resoundingly boring to me, Monster Hunter is literally the only thing that was a standout, and it's coming to PC eventually.
Ubisoft showed quite a bit of cool stuff and had some nice stage time with devs and generally just made it fairly enjoyable, and even not being super hyped (I liked the first though) for Beyond Good and Evil 2, it was still an all around enjoyable thing. Microsoft showed several things that were genuinely interesting to me and at least had some good footage and spent some time on some games like Sea of Thieves. EA had a conference. Pete Hines got really drunk on the red-eye flight he had to hop to get to E3 in time since Todd Howard wouldn't hype Pete Hine's microtransaction fetish in Skyrim, told the rest of marketing to put together that 30 minute shitshow of a trailer reel, then went out on stage and grumbled at the audience for a bit while still hung over and jet lagged.
So far Ubisoft tops the list, Microsoft right behind them, then Sony and EA just mull about on the floor with a vague nod to Sony for at least revealing Monster Hunter World, then Bethesda is somewhere else crying in to a whiskey glass. Nintendo should hopefully be good though.

It's like they modelled over a 13 year old's DeviantArt drawings after they bought one of those "How to draw manga" books.
It feels like a large amount of the problem is that the characters seem like they should be cel-shaded due to reused factors from MvC3 galore, but because they've got "realistic" shading and yet were touched up with a low fucking budget, they look like freaky anime Barbie dolls.
Bring back the cel shading!

I've thought about it for a while thinking that yeah, i'm outgrowing games since I barely play newer games while resorting to old classics like CS:GO and DOTA just for competitive play.
The reason is simple: I've been playing video games since I was 3 years old, so in 18 years of time it gets harder and harder for me to become impressed. I was blown away by Witcher 3, for example, but Fallout 4 after NV and Skyrim felt really bland, uninteresting. I really loved and still play a lot of Siege and Battlefield 4, but the newer games just don't offer anything new that would make you awe in amazement and want more.
CS:GO is an old classic? Damn i'm old.
