I could never get into Monster Hunter because the combat is so fucking slow. Specifically the attack animations. If they speed it up by like 10-15% and don't do much else to change it I'll be interested in World.
you should try MHX(or Generations in the west I think), the new style system makes some weapons become a lot faster.
Also SnS was always the 'quick and versatile' weapon in the series
Also in MHXX you get another new style called Brave which makes every weapon very fast, e.g. playing the HBG feels like playing Gears of War

Doesn't Nintendo technically win every year? They come at the end, release some really creative games that stick in your mind thanks to the stylistic choices and general idiosyncratic nature , you get a few people saying "nintendo games are childish" but at this point the people who say that end up being 12 anyway. :v:

They were lacking the past 2-3 years. Before Treehouse they were even with Ubisoft. After Treehouse they clearly won after showing Metroid: Samus Returns and Super Star Saga Remakes.
Nintendo showed the most new games, compared to every other conference. This will be really hard to top in 2018.

Nintendo's had some mediocre years. In 2015 we got Federation Force and Star Fox Zero as the big reveals backed up by Animal Crossing Amiibo Festival and SMT x Fire Emblem to the audience's general confusion. It had Mario Maker, I guess.

ooh you're right i'd blocked that out of my head. that was a rough year.

Not at all. Last year was so awful and underwhelming. Same with other years.
This is also why most of the people already expected Sony to win because they usually show enough stuff and at the same time being safe with their picks.
E3 is a silly event anyway. You can simply say "We're working on that game you all wanted" without showing anything like gameplay or such and still "win" the audience.
(Not saying Nintendo was bad this year, it was alright and better than most conferences)

MH combat isn't about speed. it's about knowledge of monster movesets and subsequently knowing how to position yourself and knowing when to back off. being greedy gets you a ride on the cart

It doesn't have to be about speed to avoid having glacial attack animations. There's a difference between attacks being slow because they're conveying deliberate strikes and attacks being slow for the sake of being slow. And Monster Hunter is far, far too slow to seem deliberate. The animations themselves are also very weightless IMO, too smooth and even like Devil May Cry 2 or Dark Souls 2. They should be snappier with a wind up and a quick swing.
[editline]14th June 2017[/editline]
But you know. It's good to know you assume anyone who has a problem with the speed is an ADD riddled moron who attacks wildly without thinking.

MH plays like a turn based game at times, just waiting for the monster's turn to finish before doing your moves.
unless you play Brave Long Sword in MHXX, then your turn never ends once you reach Brave mode.

Sorry. It's just that your reply read to me like you were saying that wanting the game to be faster means I have no patience.
You can surely see how replying "MH combat isn't about speed." to a complaint that the combat and animations are too slow can be read as "MH combat isn't about speed. :^)", in a dismissal of the complaint. Especially with what you followed with.
Dark Souls has slow deliberate combat but it's no where near as glacial as Monster Hunter. I don't want them to turn Monster Hunter into Dark Souls, I just want them to up the animation speed.
Shuhei Yoshida said in a recent interview that they held back titles from an E3 announcement and will be announcing them at a later date
So apparently The Inpatient (PS4 VR game by the Until Dawn guys) is set in the same universe as Until Dawn. Since its set in the 1950s, I'm wondering if the asylum we're in is the same one as the one in Until Dawn.
Anyone know if it was specified when Kojima is happening today?

They have said they have no plans to port XX because they are working on MHW for the west already
Capcom dropped the ball on Nintendo, taking MH away from them and only porting SF2 onto the Switch must have soiled relations. Potentially why we haven't seen any of the Collections ported yet, other than the first.
Xbox has a stream going right now on their own streaming platform, and I've been banned from chat for saying "holy crap"

Treehouse is trying so hard to find anything positive to say about this game.
Like one of the positives they brought up is "Trying to find out the names of all the sushi"
The Evil Within 2 trailer gets me hyped but I remember playing The Evil Within and just feeling disappointed for various reasons.
But games can change drastically between the first and the sequel, so I'm just gonna stay excited and really hope they don't let me down this time around.
Director: "So them movies huh?"
Kojima: "Yes."
Thanks kojima.
