So how is it that Bioware can release the bullshit that was Mass Effect: Andromeda with those god awful facial animations, and months later release Anthem with incredible facial animations? Am I missing something?

Yeah bioware threw andromeda at interns when they got tired of it

It's really not hard to make good facial animations for one guy in a reveal trailer, you shouldn't be surprised at this like it's an indication of the final game's quality.

I'm really liking Xbox's recent rapid-fire approach, instead of relying on a few explosive announcements to "win" à la Sony. While the hype levels are diverse and spread thin, at least everyone have something to look forward to.
