Far Cry 5 - Shoot Dirty Cultish Hipsters in Montana with guns and stuff

I just went with a theory I read somewhere and made it as my head canon for the ending.
The barrels of Bliss Joseph throws at you affected you and your crew and caused everyone to hallucinate, with everything Joseph manipulating your minds on whatever he wanted/was convenient to him, as evident when the winds and everything started going down whenever he recited something.
As a last ditch effort, he went with some super magic psychology trick on tricking you and everyone else a nuke went off. In the end Joseph probably actually died off-screen which explains why his picture is marked X post-credits, and that you can still freely roam while the game world still assumes you have already beaten the Seeds.
It's not perfect but honestly it at least made me feel a better on closure, since the game doesn't even do anything clever post-nuke, so I just want to assume it was still a victory from the community of Hope County and the authorities, but Joseph having one last bag of tricks postmortem.
I had a truck De-Spawn while I was driving it, which caused a mission to fail because I needed said truck
But it hasn't happened since over the last 10 or so hours of gameplay.
The second you turn your back, secret cult cleaners come out of the forests and sweep up the mess you've made.
also FUCK everything about Turkeys on Hard Difficulty. I walked through an area marked with Cougars and got attacked and killed by two Turkeys that Boomer started barking at.
Good thing they nerf'd them in the Day One patch haha.
I wanna be clutch nixon when I grow up. Love those missions.
On the TVtropes forum there actually was a similar argument about the nuke ending being a shared hallucination, with some hints being each nuke timed when someone says "god","Jesus" and "Mary" and the other being the birds on fire being seen by Rookie only when another character mentions them. Dutch's voice on the radio would actually be him yelling and trying to snap you out of it (fruitlessly)
That's actually a really neat observation with the God/Jesus/Mary phrases. If that's the case with Dutch trying to snap the protagonist off the hallucination, maybe it's actually Dutch there at the end again rather than actually Joseph, and the protag is tied up again like a call back in the beginning of the game, only this time they're tied up because they're still under the influence of Bliss. I'm assuming post-credits it finally wears off and you're back to kicking off the remnants of the cult afterwards.
God I'd love me some Far Cry right now but living in Poland, 60 dollarydoos is a lot of money. Americans make 4.4 times more money than us here, but we've got the same price for video games.
I'll sell you my copy for 35 euros.
Being a college student I can't really spend money on games at all except when there are some ridiculously cheap deals like 5 bucks for Saints Row III, as it was recently. I really do appreciate the offer though <3
Yeah, I got jumped by a turkey during the warm up to my first kidnapping. So the screen's fading out and story stuff is happening and I'm fighting for my life against this fucking turkey.
I really wish they'd gone all in on the lunacy of this game. The antagonists are unique but they're not as engaging as Vaas. They all feel a bit watered down.
I do like the lady enemy concept with the zombies though.

This made me smile.
Ignoring the two dead people in the background.
"jooooooooseph seed, joooooooseph seed
You're a big ol bag of cunts
killing us with your band of runts
To take you down, the Deputy's doing stunts
you're a big ol bag of cunts"
Guitar Man 2018-2018
"we will forever miss you guitar man"
Is anyone else disappointed that the Deputy is totally silent? I get why they did it, but I've found I'm having a harder time getting invested in the game without a voiced protagonist, weirdly enough. It makes all the other character interactions very bland to me.
No i love it, it lets me connect with it far more
also prevents annoying/boring, i hated jason brody with a fiery passion and Ajay was boring and annoying
Every time the game tries to make you think about what you're doing, it gets mega flaccid.
Like, you can't try to do the same sort of thing you did with 4 and 3 when the situation in this one is infinitely unambiguous.
One thing that feels like a step down from Far Cry 3 and 4 is weapon variety. I feel like they could have gotten away with a huge arsenal because in America you can get practically any gun you want.
Yeah true, I do like the effort they've put in with lots of new animations and reskins, particulary with adding appropiate M14, AR and the CZ but its missing so many classics.
I want my P416
But now they can charge us for "Weapon DLC's"
I don't think they've announced any plans for that.
I've had a pretty good time popping into it and doing "Arcade Hero" (basically just serves random maps with low playcounts and gives you double reward progression to encourage using it). Though right now I think of it more as a collection of outposts/combat arenas since most maps available right now are very basic and don't have much in the way of gimmicks.
It's a nice way to quickly get some new scenarios to enjoy the gunplay with, but I can't imagine people doing much else with it given the limited toolset.
I actually feel like there's a lot more potential waiting for Far Cry Arcade once more people get the hang of it and Ubisoft releases more content updates as they promised. It really feels like Halo Forge and I love it for that
I can get behind the argument that it's all one last Bliss hallucination but the game needs to actually do more to show that. I mean in the ending where you leave, the radio starts to play Only You and the deptuy begins to lose control again. It can make sense. But you don't really get an indication of this being the case at the end. You don't see the star field effect, the audio doesn't change, nothing. You know maybe you're sitting there I the bunker with Joseph but you still hear Dutch's voice through a radio or Whitehorse or something.
My biggest gripe with the game so far is everything feels really disjointed? I have no idea what the fuck I'm doing at the minute, I'm 2 hours in but nothing I'm doing is clear. I've liberated some bases and helped secure a police station but apart from that I've just been fucking around and stuff has happened along the way.
Game is still fun though.
Would you guys say it's worth it at full price if I enjoyed FC4? I'm kind of on the fence about it since I don't have anyone to co-op with.
The lack of weapons is kinda frustrating. It feels like they could have added so much more, but like, it seems that they made "Weapon" then "Variant of that Weapon" then "Skinned version of the same weapon".
Then looked at the list and called it a day. Like It feels like there is half as many as there should be
I'm in the admitted minority of liking Jason. Ajay though...
Probably so they could claim that they ones you buy with Silver are just cosmetic.
You know what's my favourite, when friendly AI gets into a turret and doesn't do anything
