It's a damn shame the radios are so quiet I literally never noticed them while playing.
Don't you just love when a resistant decides to run across the road right as you drive by ? Of course they only do it when a plane and a couple technicals are around to witness you running over him, so they can go after you and wreck your shit. I swear I got into fights with resistants as much as peggies.
I like the idea of the arcade hero mode. "here, play a bunch of shitty, most likely unplayable maps, but we'll give you double experience points for your trouble."
FUck it's 6:56AM already??
I have yet to rate a map "like" whenever I play arcade hero. Every single map I got thrown into looked like shitty steam greenlight asset flips made by Russians. It's still oddly fun and addicting tho.
half of the ones I get are "exp farm" where you kill one hundred guys, but that's not even how the experience points system even works.
I'll be honest I'm not the biggest fan of the three segmented story structure. All 3 stories are independent from one another and actions from one territory don't impact others. Characters you meet become irrelevant the moment you go to a new area. And when you do everything there is to do in one third of the map, you'll never have to travel there again. Like I took down 2 cult leaders why am I being treated like some nobody in the third area? It's a difficult situation to be put in as a developer
I did John and Faith's regions first, and when I got to Jacob's, the militia recognized me for that when they rescued me.
Its blatantly obvious that John's region was developed first as there is a substantial drop in quality in almost everything story related in the other two regions. Seems that practice is another unfortunate staple of Far Cry going back to 3 with Vaas and then the garbage that is Hoyt.
So this pretty much confirms the nukes did happen regardless of your actions, and I'm guessing Ubisoft might actually continue from this. I remembered their poll for interest on Far Cry settings and one of them is 'A Far Cry game set in a Mad Max style post-apocalyptic world'. As seen from this list https://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2015-01-05-ubisoft-polls-public-on-future-far-cry-settings
While I do appreciate that Guns for Hire have specific conversations with one another, I'd much rather they didn't talk so often because I can already tell I'm gonna hear every dialogue line within an hour of roaming around with these two and then it's gonna be nothing but repeats.
Is anyone else having a co-op problem where you use way more ammo than you should be? For example, every single shot I take with the recurve bow costs two arrows instead of one, and sometimes it works that way for sniper rifles, too.
Wow nevermind, it got fucking aggravating within 10 minutes. Not only are there only like 2 conversations they ever have, they'll keep getting interrupted by nothing and then restarting like 3 times before either shutting up or starting the conversation from the beginning. "Grace, you were in the middle fucki- Grace you were in the middle fucking e- Grace you were in the middle fucking east...."
So, is there any way to enter the St. Francis Veteran Hospital area?Everytime I go there, the screen turns red, and I get teleported outside.
Seriously fuck that ending. Where the hell do the all those nukes come from? I read the spoilers and thought the cult had a nuke they set off but nope full on nuclear war. Why?
I hope FC5 gets mods like 3 did. 4 kind of got some, but nothing as comprehensive as some of the overhauls for 3.
I really wish there was a way to do co-op with random people instead of it just being friends only.
yeah I don't know why they took out the matchmaking that was there from FC4
What if the nukes only hit Hope County? Because our helicopter was downed and we're presumed dead as we can't radio out but the US govt is aware of a militarised cult taking over the region. Granted they'd send the army in first rather than nuking their own soil but that's where my mind to when it happened
Has anyone noticed the little april fools thing on Uplay, it's kinda lika a fake admin control panel, lets you up your uplay level and other silly things lol
So is there a definitive answer to how the Bliss works? Was Faith even real? How were we able to kill her while we were hopped up on drugs?
Nope
Faith is just magic, full stop. It's so fucking weird
I'm more confused about the deputy going in hypno state whenever he hearsOnly You. Is it ever explained ? I can sort of understand the trippy shit with the Bliss since it's a hallucinogenic drug coming from flowers, but why does a specific song and Jacob's music box always put you in a killing frenzy ?
Hypnotic conditioning. Basically the idea is that through various conditioning methods you cause someone to associate a trigger, in this case the song Only You, with entering a hypnotic trance and then carrying out certain behaviors, in this case killing Eli. Perhaps most famous from the book, and movies, The Manchurian Candidate about exactly that. Of course there is no real basis for this level of hypnotic control. Hypnosis cannot make you do something you don't want to do, nor make you entirely oblivious to your actions. These days the best term used for it is "Hypnotic Suggestion" it can suggest something to you, but never force it.
How do you properly do chain / sidearm takedowns? i press the button but it does nothing..
It seems kind of glitchy but it does work. Unlike in 3, you don't use the enemy's sidearm but your own. So i was in for quite a surprise when I did it with an M67 at point blank.
For the sidearm takedown you have to have enemies in your line of sight. Then it'll prompt you to pull out your sidearm and fire for each target.
it's kind of weird how quickly it happens. It's like the animation is broken. I had an A-99 equipped, and I took down 2 guys in a split second.
That was the most absolutely heartwrenchingly horrible ending to a video game I've experienced since the original ending to ME3 Ubisoft can suck my balls.
