Dude everything about the final John section was weird I actually died a few times chasing him in a jeep with a 50 cal on it, he took like forty shots and shrugged them off. In my final attempt I wingsuited to him and hit him once with my Mac10 and he fucking exploded. The fuck?
I knew something big was tonna happen to I called Nick and Grace to cover me. Open the door and I get Knocked out to find ...Nick got caught??? When he was flying overhead and Grace was no where to be found
I think they fail to properly mention the plane has rockets, so I was baffled at how I was supposed to knock him out of the air with a 50 cal and bombs.
They don't say it in dialogue, but the rocket controls are shown on the tooltip.
John's bossfight was the least shit. Everything went down from there.
You telling me you dont like magic missle caster , and captain puss boy with the 50 cal?
I just thought of something. Where was Joseph himself going to go? All the other siblings have their own bunkers to hide out in when the nukes drop. One for each. But where the hell was Joseph supposed to go? Just kinda eat it? Pick which sibling he likes best and crash with them? What was the plan with him? Ok, slightly better rewrite of the ending: The threat of a nuclear strike has been established well throughout the story with it being clear the world is on the brink from normal characters and dialogue and such. Not the ramblings of cult leaders and a radio broadcast you will miss 95% of the time. You go to take out Joseph, fight through his little compound to reach his church, and kick in the doors and find him in prayer or something. You cuff him and fight back out of the church with him or its all peaceful as you head to the truck of a new helicopter or something. Suddenly the sirens go off and Joseph tells you that its gods will for you to uncuff him. You get the choice to release him or leave him cuffed. Regardless of your choice the nukes go off and your escape crashes. If you left him cuffed he's stuck with the rest of you, and you all burn to death or drown after crashing in to the river or whatever because everyone has been knocked out except him just like the beginning. If you release him at the end he jumps out over the water or something and disappears, then the nukes drop and you all crash and pass out. Then you start to wake up with Joseph dragging you all from the wreck. You wake up and he tells you, "Hey, I had my own bunker prepared just like my siblings!" And then he leads Rook, Sheriff Whitehorse, and the other deputies to his personal bunker and you're all stuck surviving together. Maybe even like the nukes have fucked up the Bliss and now everyone is going crazy and just massacring everyone else in the area, and now Joseph Seed is an ally as you are forced to fight through them to reach his bunker. Joseph gets to be right either way and isn't arrested, but it doesn't feel as unrewarding because you have a little genuine agency in the conclusion and aren't literally chained to a bed at this psycho's mercy, its properly established in the story that the nukes are a possibility. Its not perfect because your companions and shit are still all fucked, but you can maybe assume the all got to the small bunkers scattered throughout the area. Maybe even have that be a little end-game thing. You can wander through Joseph's bunker tinkering with stuff, like a radio playing signals from around the country (how Joseph made his prophecies) about the world going to shit. But if you tune in to one station its got radio signals from the other big characters in the story like you hear Jess and the Whitetails up in their bunker talking about how the Whitetails are holding out. Nick Rye and his wife talking about how they reached Fall's End in time to bunker down with the townsfolk, things like that. It would certainly have sucked less.
This game made me learn something about how I like my media; Wow I really fucking hate hypnosis in plots where you know your trigger. Like it feels like your guy would just go "No way lol" after he is EXPLICITLY TOLD THAT HE GETS CONTROLLED BY A CERTAIN SONG. Like, wouldn't your brain just go "Nah man I know what you're doing". Like 100% of Hypnosis is that the subject is willing, I can take it if you don't know that you're controlled, but you're told that you've been conditioned. Like. What?
That would definitely he interesting and fleshing out his character. And the idea that all of the bunkers you find in prepper stashes and mines and not one one person thought to hide in there? Hell how about you add to the moral ambiguity and try to stop the deputies (I'm assuming they all try to do it like John's) from destroying the silos and it at least makes you question if it's right to go against people who are on your side a bit.
Especially since the fight against Jacob has you destroying speakers blaring the song. You would think that would be the point where the conditioning is broken.
How little it is present of the whole nuclear war scenario? The radio talks about raising tensions between North Korea and the USA, most songs from the cult foreshadow the nuclear holocaust, there is "We'll meet again" in the Radio playing, which was the ending theme for Dr. Strangelove which ends with nuclear destruction. The CIA guy talks about the situation in Hope County is too small at the moment for the government to take care of, everyone is building bunkers, I don't know which other ending would round this up better? I personally loved the ending and I more or less expected this to happen to be honest.
That could've been pretty decent (I liked the idea that you have to chase him on the ground after you shot him down) but John kept flying absolutely erratically and crashing into me, and killing me. And after this went on for five or so times, the game decided that fuck it, you both respawn on the ground which was pretty anticlimactic
After John jumped out of his plane from me shooting it I ended up hitting him with my plane, instantly killing him and triggering the cutscene. whoopsies
I just shot him out of the sky when he was parachuting.
[sp]Moment i saw him bail I ejected and parachuted down next to him wacking with a shovel. True air to air combat[/sp]

Whose fucking idea was it to have the post map arcade xp gain, rating, and options menus all be on 3 separate screens with two timers forcing you to wait before you're even allowed to retry?
I was expecting to be spooked thoroughly in King's hot springs hotel that is allegedly haunted, I was disappointed to find out that all there is to it are just the creepy noises in it, though one thing that was a neat little bug/glitch if you look at the eyes of the bear at the front entrance you actually get something spooky
There is that haunted house prepper stash that is just a cheesy haunted house attraction until you get to the end which reveals something genuinely horrifying about the whole thing.
I planned to do it but got side-tracked
Even before that, when you turn the power Someone walks by the window upstairs, I mean actually walks. When you get there all that's in front of the window is a crate.
what_was_it_Aagain?
imagine slowly, painfully playing a level full of snipers in towers while you run around a fucking maze of a prison ground trying to figure out what the hell was the intended path imagine getting to the very end of that shit, escaping on a boat, only to somehow drive past the finish point and then getting killed for driving out of bounds because boats take forever to turn around then you have to wait for a bunch of screens and loading the level up again before you can try again
Basically an insane person has been collecting missing people and filming himself turning them into mechanical haunted house attractions. The ones you just walked past to get up there. That's why they looked so lifelike.
Oh_I_assumed_they_were_real_in_the_first_place,_hence_why_theres_a_peggy
RearAdmiral
i finished the game and im not gonna say much other than: what the actual fuck?
I feel like I made a mistake going to Henbane River after freeing Fall's End. Did I? I know you can tackle them in any order, but the implications are... something else, to say the least.
Any must-play Far Cry Arcade maps yet?
