Ok, I published V1 of the map I was working on today. Here's a link to "Arctic Chasm". It's a Team Deathmatch map I was motivated to make because most of the maps I've been dropped into so far have been absolute shit. Would appreciate feedback and promotion.

Half the time I call in Hurk, he'll do something stupid. IE, driving his ATV straight into a tree, flipping it over and getting crushed by it, or driving straight into an explosive barrel and yelling out 'I THINK SOMEONE'S TRYING TO HURT ME!'

People need to make more outpost maps. Theyre the main reason i play far cry.

Yeah what's the point? It's not like this thread is a clusterfuck of 20 different conversations, and has 10 posts a second. Kind of a waste of server data to make a Far Cry subforum. Conversation will die down in a month when there's nothing left to discuss, until DLC news.

I think then we just make threads in Games, even though we'll end up probably competing with other threads.

I mean that is what we've been doing before and its worked just fine.

I get what you're saying, but this isn't a series wide discussion, it's just for one game. It just doesn't make sense to break it up.

I haven't checked out the Outpost mode. I'm assuming it's like taking over cult outposts?

Outpost maps are hit or miss for me, because a lot of times, people are assholes and make it so when an enemy activates the alarm, 200 more guys get called in.

also, i dont wanna be that guy, but that ending justifies a LOT of really terrible shit that was happening even before the Rook arrived. like, the whole faith thing, and how the faith we see today isnt the first faith, the others have been killed pff. The one we see is a brainwashed girl named serena.

Not gonna lie, nuke scenes always disturb me because nukes in themselves are scary, but why the fuck in Far Cry of all series? The more I think about it the dumber it gets

just started playing and i gotta say - how can you make a game where you can literally hum aluminum bats at people and not expect me to friendly fire every single person i come across

The FF in the game is really weird, I've blown up 3 cars in one explosion and taken out a few friendlies and nothing was said. Missed a cultist with an arrow and clipped a guy behind him and the whole of Falls End start shooting me.

I cleared an outpost and took the side mission to destroy 3 satellites around the place. I threw one grenade that didn't hurt anybody and the entire place turned on me. Another time I cleared an outpost with a helicopter and the people who moved in were instantly hostile to me.

but people are just talking about the game in general, that's why its a general chat thread. Do you want people to make a new thread for every single thing that happens to them in the game?

No. Different topics about relevant things, be it vehicles, styles of missions, weapons, etc. I haven't played Farcry yet so I'm not entirely sure what kind of conversation there would be. I can immediately see that the subforum would benefit from a story discussion thread as there seems to be a lot of people discussing it in here

but so far majority of the discussion in the thread is people being surprised by the story's ending and plotholes, and the other being general game mechanics. theres not much to talk about in weapons/vehicles/missions. dividing this entire thread for the sake of pushing the subforum idea is silly because in a month or two the story part will be dead, and people might talk about the arcade. No one talks enough about the other three things listed to be even worth an entire thread.

Far Cry 5 really doesn't seem to be a game that's big enough or has enough expected longevity to need moderator enforced seperate threads. I feel like the community needs to be trusted to manage that and decide when a new thread needs to be created for a splinter topic. Could you jump over to the Update 6 thread @Hezzy and clarify things a bit

They mostly just crash into mountainsides and explode for me, though at one point I heard a weird noise, and looked over to see a cult plane on the ground repeatedly bashing into a tree trying to fly. It finally managed to ride up the side of the tree and then fired straight up into the air out of sight. So are Arcade maps exclusive to platform? I'm on the PS4 and tried to find that facepuncher's Camp Omega map, and couldn't find it by name or author name. Anybody tried?

this is going to do the opposite of what you want, it's going to totally kill discussion of the game. you will now have 100 'look at this thing i did' threads and totally dead discussion

Like if i wanted info about something in the game, id use a wiki. If i want to discuss about the game, id use the megathread.
