I think with Origin it adds your hardrive write speed on top of it for some reason, because it used to show me speeds way over my isp limit.

I'm pretty sure it's cheating by showing the "uncompressed" data transfer speed, the actual compressed data transfer speed is just gonna be your normal top download speed.

Finally finished Far Cry 3 after five years. I'm surprised how quickly everything goes after getting all the upgrades.

Hmm, maybe Far Cry 5 will be the first one I actually finish, having started all of them except 3 and Primal.

So FC5 appears to have bullet drop unlike the other games.

It's looking good so far, I like how you can just make your own character finally. I think we were moving towards that for awhile.

FC3 comes with the Season Pass, so if you're thinking about getting 5 you might want to consider that. It's the best one Ubisoft's done so far

I think the main thing about FC3 was the tropical setting was fantastic. You had beaches, lots of ocean with islands throughout, mountains, jungles, marshlands, etc. FC4 & FCP were just kind of a ton of hills and forests with varying weather. Sorta wish they'd just go the Just Cause 2 route and have a huge tropical, desert, snowy, and urban inclusive map. Sure, it doesn't make sense but it's really damn fun and adds variety.

I'm hoping Far Cry Arcade's assets expand further than they announced (though what they're already promising is pretty awesome), even just generic props for snowy and desert biomes would be a huge treat.

My toaster has better download speeds than steam does. In fact steam is so old fashioned its ridiculous. They still use this ancient decryption method that takes eons to decrypt a pre-loaded game meanwhile you preload a game on any other platform and it's available the moment the clock strikes midnight.

Source? (Your personal experience?) A more robust ballistics model would be a huge upgrade over the previous games.

I wish they would get rid of the "Handgun ammo" "smg ammo" generalized ammo system, I want more bullet types so playing as an all handguns character is actually viable.

Would also be more of a pain in the ass for casual players. Not everyone wants to memorize what guns use what numbers, so I'm betting on that not happening unless they end up in some midway generalized system, like "Pistol Bullets" for standard pistols, and then "Heavy Pistol Bullets" for weapons of higher calibers, etc. Tbf Origin has no encryption at all iirc, which is partially why the new Final Fantasy was playable two days before release.

Far Cry 4 did have a snowy region DLC, maybe the assets from that are in the editor?

Just pay attention to any game play videos.

I'm super hyped for this game. Gonna be beyond disappointed if it turns out to be bad.

Far Cry games have always been solid, there's nothing to worry about.

Except primal, in my opinion atleast. :v

Weird, because while I thought Primal would suck when I first heard of it, I actually enjoyed it almost as much as the main Far Cry games. I still think it would have been better with Dinosaurs instead of prehistoric mammals, though. :P

I'm loving the fact we've got a load of new guns, they've deffo put effort into this one >lever action rifle >proper revolvers >M60 NFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF

All the weapons look awesome, and that's pretty unlikely to be all of them as well. Still kinda turned off that they removed crafting of stuff like ammo bags and made inventory upgrades perks instead.

Even though i dislike the lower crosshair i think i can deal with it also i hope thats not all of them but i'm glad we've got the mp5k
