Far Cry 5 - Shoot Dirty Cultish Hipsters in Montana with guns and stuff

They weren't though. They weren't killing everyone. They force people to join up and kill those who won't join them. All because a crazy motherfucker is dead set on the fact the End of the World is around the corner. That's how they get you. They frame the war you wage as justified, and at the end you reap what you sow. The deputy brings the war with them, the Deputy is the cause of the nuclear war. You break the seven seals and bring the end of the world. You're damned if you don't fight them, but humor the possibility that fighting them is the worse option. The Deputy's actions prove Joseph right. The only way to ensure the end doesn't happen is to not fight them.
Think about it this way. The Peggies started because Joseph saw WW3 coming. If everyone deescalated the global situation, he may have not wanted to start the Project. He saw the collapse of western civilization via plutocracy and bureaucracy. Hence why he keeps babbling on about greed, and leaders that fail to act. Unless their actions divide the populace. He blames society for America's faults and created a movement to counter it's failings. He created the Project to keep as many people safe as he could from the wars. It's a cycle. He sees violence across the world, he wants it to stop. He wants to end the cycle by killing everyone who won't submit. He's a tyrant, but a tyrant who treats all his subjects the same.
Were they justified? Fuck no. It proves the point if anything. They try to use violence to get what they want. The Peggies get punted into the sky. Play stupid games, get stupid prizes. Everyone loses when people wage war. They became hypocrites, started a war to protect themselves from a war. Then, they failed because they came across and enemy they couldn't defeat.
Okay but that still doesn't make sense, because I, as the player, didn't want to "start a war", I wanted to do my job as a police officer and arrest the criminals who are murdering people. Inaction is not a viable option in this scenario, and the fact that the story is trying to frame it as such is really strange, and way too reminiscent of isolationism.
cani't I just join faith? she's basically Lana Del Rey i just wanna be with her even if jumping of a cliff it what it takes
When you're that outgunned and you've lost so much already. Trying to do what's right seems like a pipe dream. There are only four police officers left in Hope County after all. That's why they wanted to get the National Guard involved. The Marshal marched on in to arrest Joseph, and you slap the cuffs on. It was never a good idea, but you've got to finish what you started. The context of the situation matters, put yourself into the shoes of that deputy. In real life, seeing all those folks with guns. Finally getting to see how many Peggies there are. Backing down to get back-up isn't the worst idea. Bonus points if the Deputy isn't involved at all, they are the key to Joseph's prophecy. Gathering back-up to ensure the arrest goes down without a hitch seems like the best game plan.
I agreed that this is a jumbled up mess of a story. Trying to decipher it is so much work, and that's why all my posts are dumb.
You get swept into a story you had no idea you were so important to.
Just finished Far Cry 5...[sp]I'm so pissed they pulled the same "fuck you no matter what ending you choose" BS[/sp]
those god damn cultists putting bliss in the water and turning the freaking frogs gay
have you finished any other far cry game?
Why are there animations for ppl playing arcade machines in the editor, but there's no actual Arcade cabinet model? Hope they'll add more objects that are not connected to the three upcoming DLCs.
I'm not sure if I understand you correctly, but there are some arcade cabinets in the FC5 gameworld
Yeah sorry forgot to mention it directly actually
yes that is presumably why he said the same bullshit
as in, the same bullshit every other far cry game pulls
I think he means, "They nearly touched th-"
Far Cry 3 had a fairly positive ending all things considered (well the canon ending anyways). Far Cry 4...ended how those sorts of things (regional warfare) usually end, if nothing else you live Where as Far Cry 5 is just a big ol fuck you
Since when did Just Cause 3 fail? I loved that game, and it has mostly positive reviews on Steam
Is if it were anti-war you'd think, there would be TONS AND TONS AND TONS AND TONS AND TONS of references to conflict. There would be an idea of what's happening in the greater world, we'd see people who are against some conflict or fighting. But we're literally going against an actual murder cult, an actual dangerous and deranged group that drugs animals to get them to do their bidding. There is no anti-war message about it unless you were slaughtering dozens and dozens of Eden's Gate members who had picket signs or were preaching non-violence.Not the people who are executing random civlians on the side of the road or kidnapping them to force them into a cult. The writers wanted to have some bad self-righteous messages in the story, through media that isn't heard til after you finish the game, and the rambling of cult members.
But no, the most we know about Eden's Gate is that they've been an armed cult for years, tried forcing people off their land and occasionally helped out the community but ALL of that is void. Why? They're taking food and supplies in John's region, killing home owners to take their shit,Faith is making slaves with Bliss, and Jacob is trying to brainwash animals or make people into animals while teaching them military combat drills. They are very war-like, they don't resemble a hippie cult-coven, they resemble American ISIS.
I've tried out the editor finally, and I can't find a way to change the appearance/weapons of the basic AI units. Is that even possible?
You know, looking back at the video posted on the last page, how he says "They" instead of He or She, they were pretty lazy to record only one of each line that the commentator says "They", how much time would it have really taken to do separate, He and She versions.
The only way to change weapons and appearance is by using the different kinds of AI units, such as Berserker, Assaulter or Defender. The appearance is somewhat randomized when it comes to faces and such, but the clothing is based entirely on what kind of unit you select. I think there are units in every outfit you can get for your own character.
New little map experiment. You're a killer / assassin dude who has to go into an underground club / bar to assassinate a dude. Afterwards you'll have to escape the way you came in. I just wanted to play with urban environments and the general shape objects the game provides. Also, a bunch of NPCs. Check it out here: Far Cry Arcade on PS4, Xbox One, PC | Ubisoft

I also used a mod to get around the NPC limits and such, hoping that it won't get me banned or something.
backed up my save file and gonna replay the game with no hud and weapon attachment restrictions; currently just no suppressors (considering maybe keeping them for pistols, maybe not), any suggestions on what else I can do to challenge/change how I play through it?
I've discarded someone's suggestion for an ATV only run. that's bad, and he should feel bad for suggesting that.
Only required perks, no companions, no quick travel?
I've been playing Arcade with the HUD turned off and I've been itching to replay the singleplayer that way, too.
oh yeah, fast travel is a good one. dunno what constitutes a required perk though iirc you dont really "need" any of them
Grappling hook, wingsuit and parachute feel like they are required if you want to do everything there is in the game. Like the stashes and shit. Could be that you only need the grappling hook for that though
it's fucking with me without pickup and interaction indicators, would it be cheating to enable those back on again lol
Trying to make Border from R6S.
The interior is complete - now I just have to texture everything and work on props.

why does my arcade level reset to 1 every time I start the game?
Progress - almost all outdoor walls are textured. Almost all outdoor geometry is complete - only thing are the metal platforms on the opposite side that need to be done. Roof and indoors need textures still.

My plan to replay relies heavily on not picking all the perks. Grappling hook may be necessary, but apparently there is a grappling hook item actually in the game that you can pick up that gives you the perk, so I may restrict myself on that. I also don't plan on getting any of the additional weapon slots perks, so I'm not such a Swiss Army knife of super weapons, and have to be more versatile with what I do have. No lockpicking will force me to go find all the keys, but I am still getting a torch so I don't have to blow all the safes. Also the extra ammo perks are a no go. Having to save or scavenge during a firefight ought to keep me on my toes. I'm not going to pick up any perk magazines either, so things are going to progress slowly. That's my plan, anyway.
