People have really odd tomb placement choices in Montana.

But my friend Billy Bob approves and gave them a thumbs up so whatever.

wow ubisoft is hip, including the recent t-pose meme in their game
Hmm, looking at this week's Live Event on PS4, we currently have 150,000 out of 600,000 for the community challenge with 3 days to go. I don't think we're going to make it.
This should be a red flag for Ubisoft that they need to add more endgame content.
Wait, are platforms separated for community challenges? On Uplay it says 125,000 / 350,000
Yes, PS4 has a higher goal every week, while PC and X-Box are the same. Supposedly a higher player count on the PS4?
Last weeks live event was a bust (guess the Hunter outfit will get released eventually).
As for this week, it's already like 30% done and we're only two hours in.

Granted, the reward is nicer too.
They like their German weapons.
a Luger P08 was spotted in a pre-release video, I’d assume that will be added with a live event some time in the future
The events that just call for things that happen in the game anyway like "get your companions to kill people" are easy to finish. Killing people from 160m has to be done on purpose. Also, this time on PS4 we only need 250,000 kills for the community, whereas before we'd need a million to a million and a half to finish things. What's the total needed for X-Box/PC?
It's 100,000 on PC/Xbox, and it's completed already.
They're probably just adjusting values because the community didn't finish last weeks challenge.
Small new update, arcade menu's were altered and (in my opinion) improved.
They also added several new special outfits for both genders. Including Pagan Min and the other two Seed brothers
So what are your opinions over Far Cry 5, specially compared to the older FCs?
It's the latest open world shooter game by Ubisoft™ set in Montana

Cannot wait.
I wonder if those airplanes will be usable
I don't know if it's a mistake or not, but some of the Hours of Darkness stuff is in the Arcade Editor now. Nothing too exciting. Bamboo things like houses, tables, ladders. Some military equipment and fortifications. Somebody could probably make a decent Vietnam map now, though, without waiting for the DLC.
they said the DLC content would be added for free to the arcade editor.
though the DLC isn’t out yet so it could be a mistake
Far Cry 5 is easily the worst Far Cry game since 2 (as in it's below 2 and all the games which followed. I don't think the original and its spinoffs are really comparable at this point). I don't know if you've played Far Cry 5 so I'll spoiler the spoiler stuff, consider it all to be major spoilers and skip them if you've not played the game.
That's not to say it's a bad game. It just feels lacking in ways the other games didn't. I'll explain why but I just want to note that I haven't played Far Cry 3 wore on me by the end, the only part of Far Cry 4 I didn't like was the Shangri-La stuff, and I haven't played Primal.
Far Cry 2, 3, and 4 all had interesting antagonists who drew a parallel with the player. The Jackal was 'evil' for trading weapons and assisting both sides in a civil war, things you have to do to progress the game. Vaas was the Rakyat's chosen warrior until not long before the player shows up, who essentially usurps his position. Pagan Min on the other hand tries to get you to see his side of things and even gives you advice at times. They all had interesting personalities and motivations, they could all be understood more by playing the games and paying attention to the story or the world, and they all are somewhat sympathetic once you know about them.
Far Cry 5's antagonists are all one note preachers who you understand entirely just by reading their bio. It's like taking on 4 Hoyts, except more annoying since they can drag you out of the gameplay to exposit at you for a while. Joseph is slightly more interesting than the others in that he has an actual emotional reaction which makes sense, but he's barely in the game and when he is he's just a shitty author's avatar. John's "Just say yes" shit and the whole writing your sins on your body could be interesting if the character wasn't a footnote in his own story, as it stands he's the least impactful story wise which is a shame because unlike the others he doesn't completely suck. Jacob's "Cull the herd" shit is stupid and counter productive, if you're preparing for a disaster you want as many people producing supplies as possible, murdering them to train soldiers who will have no use once the apocalypse happens is fucking moronic, you need farmers not soldiers. Faith is a nothing character who's only gimmick is that she uses actual magic to fuck with you, he speech about how she was abused would hold more weight if it wasn't in the middle of a fight where she's floating in the air throwing magic energy blasts at your dick. Joseph is, as I said, just an author insert. He's completely correct in everything he says and he's the most insufferable of the lot. The fact that he wins in every ending is fucking infuriating to me.
The allies in Far Cry 2 were all kind of boring because they had to be generic mercs who could stand in for anyone else, because they could all die and they were all characters you could choose to pick. The mission givers had no real personalities and only the reporter you help out in the first half really had any impact as a person, and even then it wasn't much.
Far Cry 3's allies were a significant improvement, being that they all had their own motivations and weren't necessarily doing things which would benefit you, Citra even becomes antagonistic the further you get into the game.
Far Cry 4 had the best allies in series. Amita and Sabal were interesting people and both made good points, which was important since they're both absolute fucking monsters by the end of the game. Then you had fun side characters like Longinus who believed the world could be saved by arming everyone and constantly spouted Bible passages he just made up, or Mumu Chiffon who make you bring him furs so he can make top of the line fashion pieces.
Far Cry 5's allies are all kind of boring. Most of the Guns for Hire are safely ignored once their recruitment mission is complete, with only Nick Rye having any story relevance. Most of the characters show up for one or two missions where they have little impact. The focus is on the Sheriff, his deputies, and the Marshal. The deputies have no real presence and are just there to be tortured by the cult leaders, while the Sheriff is the most generic 'cautious Southern official' character you could have. I couldn't remember the names of any of Far Cry 5's characters and I played it a month ago. I haven't played Far Cry 4 in over 3 years and I remembered the names of everyone except Mumu, who I still remembered as a character.
Far Cry 2 only had 3 things to do. Main missions, convoy destruction missions, and collectible gathering. It wasn't a game that pretended it had a lot to do and see because it was focused on bringing you into the story and the feeling of being in a shit place surrounded by shit people.
Far Cry 3 and 4 added a load of side shit to do as a means of making the open world more fun and they tried to make sure the player always had something to do. Capturing outposts, freeing hostages, races. The addition of hunting and crafting made you engage with the wildlife and it made you explore the world to get the upgrades you wanted. It could be tedious at times but it mostly worked well.
Far Cry 5 streamlined a lot of the gameplay from previous games, mostly to the game's detriment IMO. Hunting is now completely pointless, animal skins are just worth money which has never been a rare resource in these games since every corpse and container spits $20 at you. Fishing is fun at first but it's literally the same thing every time. There's no need to select the right bait type and there's no techniques for catching different types of fish, it's just cast and reel in. The change to skills was the worst though, rather than getting XP for everything you do you now have to complete arbitrary tasks to unlock skill points, most of which are designed around getting you to use ALL the different weapons and companions available, so you don't have a chance to miss anything.
The arcade is a really great idea and the continued support will surely result in some nice maps for singleplayer and multiplayer, but right now it's just fucking flooded with unfinished shit by people who don't have the whisper of an idea of what they're doing. There is good stuff, but it's buried under an ocean of shit.
Far Cy 5 isn't a bad game, I had a lot of fun with it while I was playing. The further away from the game I get though the less favourably I think about it. I didn't like the story or the characters, I didn't like how they streamlined the gameplay, I found the world to be boring. The game didn't leave me with a desire to go back like all the previous games did, it didn't make me want to try everything out and explore the world and I didn't even do all the side missions like I do in every game.
It's a game you can easily enjoy while playing it but it won't leave you feeling fulfilled in any way, it's a popcorn game, tasty but unsatisfying. Which is a shame because previous entries in the series all had something more to them which made them feel more significant than they probably were. Worth picking up but I'd definitely recommend waiting for a sale to anyone who asks.
Man it’s such a waste with the slow drip of new weapons through events... Sure the mp34 is fun, but what am I going to shoot with it now? Civilians? Bears? I might as well start a new game in a few weeks and just leave it be for now (unless they add ng+)
That's kind of what I feel like. I could start a new game, but I might be better off waiting until a few more things a released to maybe change things up a little bit. Not a lot though, since a lot of the weapons are kind of samey anyway. I'm hoping a machete comes with/in association with the Vietnam DLC so I can slink through the bushes with something a bit more menacing than the shovel.

I'm glad the zombie DLC is last.
I dunno. I'm not that interested in zombies, but if it's urban, I'd like some of those props and set pieces in Arcade.
The new assets are great, can't wait to put them to use
Achievements are up.
Looks like survival mode is coming back, along with a new difficulty mode called Action Movie mode.
I wonder if this will be flyable, appears to be inspired by the F-4 Phantom

I want the Zombies DLC just for the Arcade Potential.
Actually fuck it. I kinda don't give a shit about the DLC themselves, rather, the Arcade content for them. FC3's weapons should have all been added though
I'm really hoping Hours of Darkness is good. I've been craving a Vietnam-set Far Cry since 3.
The DLC I'm most exicited for is the Mars one. Mass Effect Andromeda awakened the space itch last year, then failed to scratch it. I don't know if the Mars DLC will either, but the Arcade maps that come from it have potential.
Though I don't know what's going to be more obnoxious: all the city-based Arcade maps which are currently filled with Angels being re-released with proper zombies or fill with Mars aliens.
