The Elder Scrolls Megathread XX: Might as well be XXX

Never had to many problems with it myself.
That's because it's correctly coded for the most part.
Has anybody managed to get past 4GB VRAM limit on SkyrimSE? I got the fall creators update (to my own sadness) and ENBoost but it never gets above 4GB usage according to Skyrim Performance Monitor. I'm having serious stuttering and temporary freezes when it reaches 4GB, its very frustrating because otherwise than this the game runs so god damn perfect.
There's a metric shitton of ways to get past it, if you haven't then you set up something incorrectly, or you're on win8/8.1, in which case you're fucked.
You need to make sure you have Crash Fixes and restringer installed and properly configured for your system, and the most current version of enb/enboost, also directly configured for your system.
I got Windows 10 Fall Creators update, and I got the SSEFixes (SE's replacement for Crash Fixes) and latest ENBoost which I've configured for my system. That's why I'm a bit confused.
I used to play SWTOR with my girlfriend as a Bioware RPG in co-op mode, and it was great.
We tried to do the same with ESO, but from what I remember you can't really play ESO as skyrim with friends.
Did they ever add a way to play on whatever faction you wanted regardless of race? because I always play Bosmer/Altmer and she's always an Orc- so we were immediately put off by the fact that we couldn't play our favourite races without being placed on opposing factions.
Also the loading times were fucking awful from what I remember.
Yeah well it doesn't do anything hugely amazing, the actual AHO itself is the best part of it, not the actual quest part aka 90%
Enboost isn't needed for SSE.
I think if you get the Imperial edition or whatever the fuck it's called it lets you play as any race, including Imperials, in any faction
Not imperial edition, you can get it in a bundle in the crown store. Adventurer Pack. Back in the day you had to buy a code off g2a or ebay because it was a preorder bonus
Imperials can be in any alliance by default though, which are only accessible from Imperial Edition
As of the One Tamriel update you can play with anyone, in any zone regardless of faction. You just won't be able to PvP in Cyrodiil together.
Factions literally only matter in cyrodil (pvp arena area) and nothing else
that's it, doesn't matter at all beyond there
How does everyone feel about Enaisiaion's mods (Apocalypse magic, Imperious, Ordinator, etc)? Do they add a lot do the game and is it worth installing all of them?
Hell yeah my dude. Its actually fun to play Skyrim with them imo.
Enaisaisiaiaiaiaiaiaiayayayayayayalalaluno1111 f'thagn is the best parts of an actual coder and Ideas Guy combined:
Tightly coded scripts with strong and up to date methods with clean and tidy resolves and branching, matched with complete batfuck pants as hat features in what would be otherwise completely stellar mods that he defends to the death even when people just as much experience and know how calmly explain what these features are dumb or should be optional.
So yes his mods do enhance things considerably, particularly Apocalypse. They also contain weird ass arbitrary fetish Requiem-style dumbness/sole focus features that make zero sense mechanically or thematically, like being shot in the leg and "going blind" from the injury or insistence on some obscure fan fiction "lore" thing (except not) being considered as a TES canon mechanic that Bethesda left out and needs to be not only reinserted but become a global gameplay mechanic with no way turn it off within what is otherwise a completely modular mod.
50% :yay: 50 :why: and you get both with no choice.
Well, that definitely sounds interesting. What other sort of weird stuff should I be on the lookout for?
I would just his readmes completely and check his reddit threads to see if his flavor of new and exciting is your flavor of new and exciting cause they're definitely an acquired taste.
While we're talking about Enaisiaion, don't bother with his quest and story mods. He's a skilled coder and things generally work the way he intends them to, but the guy couldn't write a decent quest to save his life.
His Dwemerverse mod is a good example. It comes with a number of new and cool spells that actually work and aren't broken messes but he tied them to a completely buttfuck retarded quest line with Daedra-worshipping Dwemer on the moon and surprisingly good voice acting.
Fortunately you can get just the spells as a stand-alone mod and not have to worry about the complete lore mangling quest.

I fucking love the jester festival
one of the things i'm absolutely certain on is the return of the dwemer. maybe not the upcoming TES game, but one of the future games in the series is gonna have the dwemer come back as a focal plot point, potentially with the added gimmick of finally getting a 10th race to play as. i see them as a kind of chekhov's gun--frequently mentioned--but never really present in a tangible form. i think they'll reappear just as quickly as they disappeared.
Why would the Dwemer ever come back when they have already more than served their purpose ?
The apex of their usefulness to the big overarching plot of the elder scrolls was with Morrowind when the heart of lorkhan was the centerpiece of the story.
in the origins of the series ii felt like the dwemer were less a gameplay feature than a philosophical exercise. it wouldn't surprise me if they "brought them back" but at that point i officially don't give a fuck because you're just trading in garbage literalism.
The dwemer were probably just some random way to toss in the typical fantasy dwarves without much thought before Kirkbride came in and doused everything with LSD.
To be perfectly honest I'd just love a TES game featuring the dwemer once again.
I mean, we are talking about a race of bearded elven assholes who will rip out your very soul and put it in flashy gems to power-up their magical steampunk cities or horribly mutate your race till you'll all be a mere shell of your former selves and dutiful slaves.
They are just GREAT
they for sure were. in the heady days of bethesda's prehistory they contracted some guy who's name i dont remember who was traditional a pen and paper RPG savant as a designer and we got daggerfall. kirkbride (i think) was hired on with some other people for redguard and that's when TES' backstory really crystallised. morrowind u-hauled the previous games' lore along with its own into the new millennium and they subsequently released it on the xbox and bethesda made a shitload of honestly deserved money and then after a while everyone said morrowind was a nostalgic illusion and then everyone agreed that skyrim was a treadmill and then everyone hopped on ESO because it was the newest thing and here we are.
Next TES game should take place 200 years after V and the Altmer have basically became Dwemer 2.0. You can't play as the High Elves, but there will be one of the other TES races told in the books of TES that would be the replacement.
Then we can kill them all off and make them extinct. And no race of value will have been lost.
This blasted thread is filled with backwater populations sympathizers who can't or won't see the benefits of being subjugated to the one and only Empire and people too primitive or inept to see the huge advantage of converting your enemies' souls into a ready and clean form of energy.
Really, I'm appaled here.
Playable Sload race when?
Can you guys recommend more videos in this genre?

I remember one set to Ayreon - Into The Black Hole, but I can't find it.
The dwarves hiveminded themselves into numidium before kagrenac forgot to turn the power switch on. If they come back it's not as a race but as a God of NO who could simply "No" the entire spiritual caste system of nirn and oblivion into nothing in an instant. But why do that when you can take your time and have fun doing it while gloating of your achievements over others.
You don't want ol' uncle stompy coming around because he makes alduin look like a European swallow. What is a hero to do if he is simply No'd out of existence at the mere presence of Stompy existing?
The dwarves returning means shits fucked and no hope is left. Unless you can prove it wrong but that's near impossibly difficult.
