sounds nice! i held off primarily beause the lack of SKSE support for the longest time (even though it's here now) made a lot of mods simply not work, e.g. SkyUI to replace the wonky console-brand interface that skyrim has
I'm playing a lot of SSE, and I don't really find anything missing. Beyond RaceMenu and some warpaint/scar mods that used RaceMenu.
Most of the more popular mods for oldrim have found their way to it by now. Additionally, some mods which used to require SKSE, such as convenient horses, were completely rebuilt on Special Edition to work without it altogether.
But without RaceMenu, how can you use the best character preset of Sheva the Redguard from Elsweyr?
I've been playing Skyrim VR, seems like mods work only randomly or I'm shit at installing them. I know SKSE isn't available for the VR version but sometimes random mods that don't need SKSE don't work either. At least heavenly bodies works https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/250178/b16aba87-cba3-4924-bb3f-5be73ed8a385/v2.webm
I've installed ETaC but only Dawnstar is showing up differently. I've tried reinstalling it a few times but nothing seems to change.
I don't remember ETaC having any voice acting besides reused lines.
It might be in the newest version but there's a temple to Dibella in Dawnstar. The NPCs there have to be heard to be believed.
It's just one of the many times game systems that are blind to each other accidentally dynamically mix. If you have the unofficial patch, you could wait like a week or two doing other quests until Brand-Shei gets released from jail.
I vaguely recall the Beyond Skyrim team saying that eventually BS will be Special Edition only - I'm waiting for the full release before I switch because I still prefer the flexibility from the old version
Finally a build that will help me loose weight.
Fist of the Dragon Star

It vexes me that Bethesda doesn't bother to fix any of these bugs when they rerelease the game for the millionth time.
Isn't the scroll turning into a bucket intentional? That can't just happen randomly, objects do't just turn into other objects even in the buggiest of Bethesda's games, that would have required its own script.
I don't know, it could be an oversight. Like burning the page is supposed to switch it out with a different "burnt page" model, but it was set incorrectly, so it sets it to a default model instead, which happens to be a bucket. Something like that.
It's already a burned page model.
It's deliberate
Anybody else love doing this? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MBreR1ndzKM
For anyone undecided on lighting/weather/shader mods for Special Edition, I've done a bit of research on and personal tests of the following: Obsidian Weathers and Seasons True Storms Dolomite Weathers Mythical Ages Climates of Tamriel Natural and Atmospheric Tamriel Rustic Weathers Surreal Lighting Vivid Weathers Enhanced Lights and Effects I've noticed that most of them have several of the following issues in specific weathers/environments: Exceedingly unnatural and jarring contrast/saturation Issues with landscape shaders (I.E. things like snow and LoDs being strikingly bright at night) Muddy colors (inverse of #1- very little contrast and ill-fitting color filters) Unnaturally dark (Some "darker nights" mods fail to make corrections to existing light sources, resulting in void-like darkness) Lack of atmospherics (no god rays, fog, etc) or jarring precipitation (i.e. blindingly bright night rain) What I've concluded is that Enhanced Lights and Effects with the "Exteriors", "Weathers", and "Enhancer" options installed presents the fewest of these issues. The most significant characteristic of ELFX is that it has very "soft" lighting. It makes consistent use of atmospheric effects and ambient lighting that result in very smooth visuals- this does especially well to keep distant objects from interfering with the foreground and the ambient lighting looks especially great on characters. If you'd like to see a visual comparison of some of these, I'd recommend this video (especially at 6:40). https://youtu.be/Czrr4Al_2s0?t=6m40s Here's some screenshots I've taken with ELFX (and no other lighting/shader mods): https://imgur.com/a/LsX8R That's not to say that this is the only lighting/weather mod anyone should ever use; everyone has got their personal preferences and there are quite a lot of options out there. But as far as polish, consistency, and post-processing quality (without ENB or Reshade) go, ELFX is definitely my current favorite.
sse has good enough mod support but the big thing is it's way more stable than oldrim. there are a couple old standbys from like 8 years ago that aren't ported yet but most of those either arent that big a deal or are fixed by sse
How the hell do you even get onto the ESO forums lmao
Why would you even want to go there? The ESO reddit is already bad enough.
The occasional discussion thread isn't bad, It's not like I'm going to hate it if people are whackos either. The entire reason I have such an idiotic post count is because I basically can't help but enjoy arguing nothing
