Mostly looking for more simpler QoL changes and balance tweaks, rather than new spells and whatnot.
Pick up a sword, you squishy eggheaded mage.
I've been wanting to do a pure mage character in Skyrim and was wondering what mods are there to make the magic better overall. Mostly looking for more simpler QoL changes and balance tweaks, rather than new spells and whatnot.
Path of Sorcery, a perk overhaul that works around what's already in the game rather than making entirely new systems. Though it does do the latter as well. Skelebone crafting, expansion of illusion magic, and a Patron God system to Restoration. It makes specialising in one school more fun and viable rather than needing to be a jack of all schools (or just being a lazybones and doing conjuration+illusion).
Does anyone know the stability of Dynavision? I remember having it installed a couple years back but uninstalled it thinking it caused savegame problems. Now that I'm smarter with modding and whatnot I no longer have that problem so I'm wondering if the mod is good because I remember people saying it was likely the cause.
knowing gopher's work, it probably uses just some scripts and maybe a couple other things. It may have been a possibility that it was actually corrupting your saves in some way, but because that was years ago, the current version of the mod may not have those problems anymore. Especially with the change log listing these as changes:
Version 2.0 Reduced the size an number of scripts massively. Removed the Dynavision Helper and replaced it with an MCM menu for use with SkyUI version 3 (REQUIRED). Changed default DoF to mid strength STATIC DoF so starting a new game does not have Dynamic DoF during the cart ride. Fixed some script bugs that might cause save bloat.
But if you really want to be sure, go through the source scripts in the BSA and make sure that it doesn't have anything that could cause corruption or bloat.
Not bad for £16.99 sealed. I play on PC but still. edit: Help it's enormous.
Not bad for £16.99 sealed. I play on PC but still.
For a moment there I thought TESIII was getting re-released on PS4 and I thought to myself "Dammit Todd, you've gone too far now"
Every time I see something about the Morrowind ESO expansion I get annoyed because I'm interested for about half of a second before I realize I don't actually want to play it because it's just ESO.

Just being reminded of the magic system of skyrim recalls memories of how buthurt I am about it. I don't mind the removal of mysticism so much and I didn't need every wonderful spell from morrowind; However, so many shit changes were made; Paralysis being alteration Detect life being alteration No best spell:Charm (would've totally justified dawnguard tho with Serena getting you to agree with all her bullshit) No illusion lighting spell (I don't mind that alteration lets you create a light, but it they really gutted illusion) Anti-undead spells being Restoration rather than conjuration (or destruction) Ward being restoration No fortify spells (and fortify for potions/enchantments being ridiculously specific things like one handed damage) Equilibrium was a cool spell but rather wasted when Magic regenerates instantly outside of combat and potions/food are instant. Like, not only did they fuck sense/storytelling/lore to do the categories the way they did, they didn't even arange shit in a fun way. Like, they had destruction down 'cause they wanted to focus on just magic for combat, realised that Alteration was just armour spells so gutted illusion to fill it back up, realised restoration was just heal so they slapped a bunch of irrelevant shit into it, and conjuration's sorta fine if you ignore how barren the summon list is. Deeply regretted making my first character a mage. Ice storm (I think) was a favourite tho. Unfortunately liked it's mechanic more than the expert/master spells.
I just want my on touch casts, levetation, telekenises, and spell crafting :frown:

Gheesus, Creation Club idea is OK but why the prices are so high? It's absurd.
They don't see people, they see wallets. And as long as they reach their profit milestones, it works for them.
Explains why Todd keeps releasing Skyrim and gives legitimacy to the meme. Like really, has anyone not played Skyrim between its millions of ports? I know it's a super obvious rhetorical question but just release an actual new Elder Scrolls already.
Bethesda's greatest talent is probably releasing unfinished and outdated looking games on arrival.
See, I don't trust bethesda. Fallout 4 was so casual that the casuals were complaining out how fucking casual it was. Now I know they accepted some backlash from it (I can't remember if it was anything other than the voiced protag), but they've been doing this to every big game since fucking Daggerfall (the only TES game to have more depth than it's predecessor), and we always look in hindsight at those games with more praise than we did at the time, because the sequel was just so much worse (I now deeply appreciate Fallout 3's writting thanks to 4, and Skyrim made oblivion just seem better to a lot of people) Daggerfall was too hardcore for me to get into, but it had some wicked ideas that will be missed. If we wait time, maybe they'll hope we forget about F4 and play skyrim. They want to remind us of how good skyrim is. Maybe Skywind'll come out and people'll love bethesda a little more for it. But bethesda's shit's been getting dumber for 21 years and there ain't no stoppin it. Maybe we'll get lucky and they'll take cues from The Witcher or Bannerlord or something and work out a clever or dynamic world. Better yet: maybe Bethesda's linup'll change and we'll get passionate writers, designers and developers. Bethesda needs time [sp]and a better engine[/sp]
:disappoint:
Y'know, I installed FO4 just to get the Prey suit and Horse Armor, but uh, I know I'm not actually ever going to play Special Edition so I'm not installing for this free bullshit.
Y'know, I installed FO4 just to get the Prey suit and Horse Armor, but uh, I know I'm not actually ever going to play Special Edition so I'm not installing for this free bullshit.
I got it to see if I could backport it.
So does this mean that if you update your SSE to the latest version it will also have the creation club? And you cant get rid of it? If so fuck that ill go back to normal skyrim
You know what always makes me laugh? The steal armour in skyrim, the basic one that people like lydia wear. The waist is all wrong and it's super fucking tiny, it looks like it should be crushing organs It's especially noticeable when worn by a female with weight at minimum. It's so stupid I love it.

Shove it in the box if you don't want it and leave it there. [editline]shit[/editline] I am uninformed

From -can't move waist- to -helmet smaller than head- to -spikes catch on everything- and the very simple -this is way too heavy, with or without magical material properties- I can appreciate the TG/DB armour for being so overtly "I belong to a criminal organisation". You can defend yourself in the court of law by saying it's just cosplay, and it's a silly enough uniform that they'd believe you.
Just because you HAVE it doesn't mean you have to use it. Kinda like when Pokemon just hands you a legendary for free. Shove it in the box if you don't want it and leave it there.
it preloads the mods onto the disk and will very likely break pre-existing mods every time creation club 'updates' (just like FO4) last I checked legendary pokemon didn't break your other pokemon when you were forced to get them.

Fucking hell...
So basically. It's time to go back to oldrim?
Never left.
Eh I liked the lack of crashes and extra performance from SE but I do miss a lot of mods so I was getting close to going back anyways.
A couple years from now I'm sure the community will have a working format for 64 but until such time I'm not going to deal with Bethesda's absurd need to actively leech way more fucking money than is healthy or sane just to appease zenifux's board and constituents. This game has already made more money than GTA and BGS is fucking tiny compared to any other AAA dev by almost an order of magnitude even WITH an almost doubling of staff, so where all this extra money is needed is quite the mystery cause it's obvious as fuck by FO4 it's not going back to the devs or customers. CDPR already proved empirically paying things forward works every fucking time, why no one else in corner cubicle/offices gets this is beyond me. Pretty sad state.
Because there are many western devs which are lazy and are unwilling to work harder/take risks or there is simply bad management. Inexperience of staff working on the game. The nature of game development is unpredictable in it's own right too. CDPR was on a massive crunch during TW3 development.
"Geez I wonder why bethesda keep releasing new skyrim?" - Keeps on buying that same game for the umpteenth time
