Creation Club is live, Survival is free until October 10th.
That beta didn't last long.

What does it mean that it's free by the way? Grab it now and get it forever? Or how does it work? I grabbed it anyway.
I bought the Elder Scrolls Online last night, was that a good or bad move? I briefly started and it seem quite fun I just don't hear much talk about it.
I think a big amount of people here just don't care about it much. But some seemed pretty excited about it. Personally I can't be bothered just because it's an MMO.

I personally love the game, bad notes would be the combat is a little clunky and there's not much freedom when compared to a normal elderscrolls game, but what it makes up in is the beautiful environments and world building. Also a very robust crafting system. In addition the DLCs for the most part have been a pretty good chunk of good content and Morrowind is fantastic.
Just to re-iterate a point the vistas in the glimpse of the clockwork city you get in ESO Morrowind are hnnng.

"Jarl ready for this? "
Truely this is the greatest hell.
Greatest dad joke, by Bethesda.

So is this like a trial or will people actually get to keep it free forever?
We all joked that Todd is our daddy, now he's acting like it.
Including the beatings and the abandonment.

He must be alcoholic too, seeing how he's after our pocket money.

Agreed on that. Plus, the DLC lets you do some things like join a thieves guild and your days of doing actual quests end. Yes, it will go from taking down an enemy that took your soul to stealing shit while "accidentally" killing others with a blade of woe.
At least until you remember you need experience and a better soul magic skill and go back to doing main quest. Short version is yes, its fun, but has clunky combat.
Some dude playing through a quest mod from CC.

Surprise, surprise! It's shit!

8 fucking usd for that piece of shit
Paid mods were a mistake, who could've predicted it
Jesus christ those zombie sounds, sorry sound.
paid mods are just too expensive and executed worse than the free stuff. the only way they can make it better than free mods is doing actual large mods. they're also known as add-ons like dawnguard. we already have that, so in reality paid mods is just a dumb idea.
that's the thing with Bethesda, they're really good at getting some kind of idea and implementing it without thinking it fully through. their service and game design is fucked up.
I just get the sense that paid mods are like tiny shit DLC's that are only ever so slightly cheaper than an actual DLC, even if a really good paid mod gets released I'm still going to be reluctant to buy it.
I'm pretty sure zombies are supposed to spawn at night as opposed to just being that one shrine but even then there are a lot of free mods out there that do a similar thing.

But why get it free when you can pay. - Bethesda 2017

what if their plan is just to make money off the "mod reviewers" that feel obligated to "review" all of the new content?

And they do it better.
I've seen some mods where they keep attacking, and even manage to over-run entire cities and have an infection chance. so every dead npc joined their hoard.
Combine this with:
Essential remover, so even quest NPC can die.
Frostfall or other weather/camping mod
A REALISTIC NEEDS mods
No fast travel
Etc
Now suddenly you have a very different game
Yeah, first few in game days are going to be fine, make it to whiterun fine and dandy
Then a few days later whiterun gets breached, and the vendors are dead.
Now you can't buy food.
No problem right? The houses still have food, start looting houses.. Then that runs out, so now you're FORCED to leave just to find food. So you brave the roads and make it to the next town. The cycle repeats.
THAT'S how you do "SURVIVAL" mode

Theres also a mod allowing undead to get back up again unless you decapitate them or use an enchanted weapon. Grab a really dark enb and it'd be brill.

I'd say today it's quite good, I got it on the cheap way after that beta garbage. They really turned it around for the most part. You can travel anywhere, the main story scales with you and doesn't require you to reach a certain level before the next part, PvP has battlegrounds that disables champion points, The crafting is really nice and viable from the get go all the way to end game, huge, good looking world
It's Elder Scrolls in MMO form but it lacks some Lore-rich charm the single player games have
Stealing is fun. Starting out and need a set of heavy armor? Just steal it from the shop. Thieves guild and Dark Brotherhood guilds are fun. Everyone says Morrowind is great but I haven't tried it
the only thing i can give that zombie DLC is that it has a better texture than any zombie mod out there
that's not fucking worth my money though
[editline]5th October 2017[/editline]
can we please get the hurried backpedal on this now
i'm getting worried that they actually think this is ok
Honestly, I gave ESO a try, played it for like a month and I just kind of find it boring.
