The Elder Scrolls Megathread XX: Might as well be XXX

As someone who's been out of the Elder Scrolls loop since shortly before Skyrim SE dropped, how is the modding scene for SE compared to Oldrim? I know that the SKSE64 beta was released a little while ago and SkyUI was ported, but have any other big name mods made the switch as well?
The lack of SKSE for SE was the only thing keeping me from using it instead of Oldrim but now that the beta was released I'm wondering if it would be worth it to try it out, if only for the system improvements of SE over Oldrim.

Then you're a big STUPID obviously. No stupids allowed in this thread
You're right. This is most upsetting.
This is why I want TESVI to be a direct sequel to Skyrim where you fight the Dominion. I want to kill all the got damn elves. I want there to be a DLC/quest where you get Pelinal's set in order to be the best elf killer ever, and I want them to add Fallout style gibbing so you can DESTROY all of the HECKIN ELVES

Wolfenstein but with elves instead of Nazis

I agree, but watch your language! This is a Christian forum.
(why the flip isn't there gibbing in TES)

We say fudge here, young man.
And, there are dismemberment mods, right? I'm sure I remember that.. more fitting for swords and sorcery fantasy.

SKSE64 is still catching up, but basic stuff like SkyUI now exists for SE. No Immersive Camera yet tho :c
By the way, been playing SE for 33 hours now. I crashed TWICE in total. Once totally random near whiterun, which is my least favorite type of crashing. But the other was caused by very fast quick saving and quick loading several times, so that's forgivable.
My point being I crashed a lot more on Oldrim, with or without mods.
Aside from the update from 32-bit to a 64-bit, what other upgrades did SE get? I do remember some discussion about the graphics quality of the game being both upgraded or downgraded, depending on who you ask. I might be talking out of my ass here but that's all I remember from what was talked about here.

Graphics are way better and anyone who says otherwise is objectively wrong; better colours, godrays, more grass; and, most importantly, no glitchy ass blocky shadows.
Other than that and being 64bit and Creation Club, no big changes.

oh and there's now a better, less Barbie Doll abominationy version of CBBE that's SE-only, if you're into that
Lip syncing seems to be better. But you can just Google the list of changes. I still have some hopes for the creation club but let's see what happens with it. As of now it's not looking very promising. I feel like someone slapped together the current purchasable creations without much thought or love. Whoever made Arcane Accessories didn't even bother to balance it out. There's Expert Robes of X School of Magic in Vanilla skyrim, and this brings a better 'Expert Robes of X AND Y School of Magic' where the reduction is iirc 20% on the first and 20% + 20% on the second. Basically it means the robes the Arcane Accessories add are better which is fine but the gold price from shop keepers is much lower than the vanilla one. It should be crazy high. So it's imbalanced as hell and it would take them NO effort to have fixed this.

The triple barrel shotgun for the Fallout 4 Creation Club still has a major bug where using any receiver besides the standard breaks ironsights, making them unuseable. If you think Bethesda is gonna bother fixing their shit, you're kidding yourself.
Also, rain occlusion on buildings. There's a new snow shader with pretty specular glints but it's actually broke as hell if you turn the ambient down / mod the lighting. Anything with the shader on it (Mountains, snowy objects, etc) goes fullbright reflection
z fighting was finally fixed lol
If it was that realistic, then all the Elves would be dead and you'd find their bones near every lava pit.
Considering how much juju and population mer have over men, pretty sure you have that backwards.

oh hell yes I didn't even notice it was gone. but that was my most hated graphical bug
also I printed the Empire's logo (emblem?) and I'm gonna coat it in some Gunmetal paint later :D
the black stuff that's behind the 3D print is magnet tape, I cut it with a hobby knife so that it's less visible. I think I'll cut it some more though. So yeah, it's gonna be a fridge magnet

Well I got this from my free crate from the Morrowind DLC.

Has anyone been able to get digitigrade feet meshes/skeletons (any of the variants on the nexus, theres a few) to work with WICO in the non-SE version of Skyrim? I'm trying to get proper Overgrowth styled feet/legs for my unarmed Khajiit but all I've ended up with is some sort of mixture of a plantigrade skeleton with digitigrade textures. They look animal-like but his feet resemble the Trix Rabbit's now.
I'm not even exactly sure that WICO is causing the conflict but I don't think it could be anything else. (I'm using XPMSE skeleton, which I originally thought was the problem but I found a version of the digitigrade mod that works with XPMSE off of LL) Everything is in place for them to work but I think it's just WICO that's holding it back. WICO barely even messes with the khajiits anyway, what the heck gives?

Maybe WICO assigns its own texture paths to the khajiit feet, or uses a texture override in .esp for the khajiit feet armor addon. Check it out with TES5Edit

Total scrub when it comes to TES5Edit, but looking through the program it looks like WICO does in fact have some sort of override over the digitigrade mod. Can I just delete all of WICO's assets for the feet (not all of them, just the related ones) and will the digitigrade naturally overwrite them or is there a way I can do it without deletion?

Try moving digitigrade's esp (if it has any, my LE version does) before WICO's esp. If that doesn't do it then yeah, go to WICO and delete all the khajiit feet overrides --they should be highlighted in green or red-- it has in the .esp file with TES5Edit, that should take care of things. Another option is to keep these overrides and instead edit their file paths to match the digitigrade models' and textures paths.
Be sure to back up the .esp yourself or use TES5Edit's backup features so you have a fall back.

You know, I wasn't actually expecting myself to be able to decipher this and put it into action (im afraid of tes5edit can you tell?) but somehow I managed it! It was Deadly Dismemberment and WICO that was causing it, I think. Either way, the feet work and look dope. Thanks a ton, man.

Ohh yeah deadly dismemberment messes with body parts for sure. I'm glad you got it working, and it's pretty valuable knowledge you've gained with TES5Edit. Had to figure that shit out all by myself too and it was awful.
How hard is it to convert mods from Oldrim to SE? Isn't it just as simple as opening up the Oldrim esp in the new creation kit and recreating it?
In addition, I remember someone mentioning that texture replacements for oldrim worked for SE right out of the box? Is that true?
Models need to be edited to work with SE, which can be done with a batch tool out there somewhere. Textures are still .dds. ESP update just requires opening up in the new creation kit and saving it to aplpy the new refferences.
I've always felt like a more CBBE body should be default for TES.
Skyrim, Oblivion, Morrowind; women are a healthy average (maybe a bit thin in morrowind), the lowliest man topless is a fucking sex symbol. The older TES games were all for boobs too. Sure, pixelated tits are pixelated tits, but they were really generous. I'm not saying we need a return to full nudity (though I wouldn't complain) but I'd rather a company do it than individuals with "refined" tastes.
More body variation'd be great in general, but if the women could match the men that'd be swell.
nah, that huge tittied 'Blessed by Dibella' body should be the default just to save me some time modding
Clearly the schlongs mod should be default.
Both sexes of course.
I prefer if characters were like in Fallout 4. But built more on top of that. And also more walking animations. People move very differently in real life. in Bethesda games, everyone moves the same way.

Big titty Futa girls are the future of all TES games
