The Elder Scrolls Megathread XX: Might as well be XXX

I downloaded tes3mp for openmw yesterday for fun, and after my friend got it i am now certain that coop for any ES games are my dream game.
It has no NPC sync yet in the public release, but we legit spent hours travelling together in MW and levelling up killing NPCs and doing our own quests
Just the fact that we are synced and can heal/trade/kill each other was enough to keep us going. I can't wait for the next release with npc sync.
Is there any ENB's that add colors without absolutely wrecking your FPS? I tried Unbleak and Phinix but they had me sitting at 40-50 fps and I'd like 60 stable.

You could just install ReShade and have that do it.
What's the difference between the two programs? Reading its website it seems to do the same thing. How does it run better?
found this in the lmao pics thread:

I don't know the technical shit behind ReShade and ENB, I believe ReShade is like Screen Space effects whereas ENB is...something else I really have no fucking clue, all I know is ReShade has a thing for saturation and contrast and a bunch of other shit, performance wise, it doesn't do a fucking thing.

I've been using Reshade in all my games for months now. ENB offers way more customization for Skyrim's engine proper, but Reshade has more than enough to make it (or any other game) look just as good.
Performance-wise, ENB can wreck your shit. But with Reshade, it just depends on which shaders you use. But those that use much performance are few (RBM, Ambient Occlusion...)

Took this pic using only Reshade and the usual graphical mods with all the game graphics turned to max, doesn't go below 60 FPS and I've got an aging medium-range PC.
Reshade cannot do any kind of kind of bounced, ambient or indirect lighting or computed lighting ala SSS, it also can't produce sampled intensity for specularity or shadow coloring and reshade will never looks as good as ENB until such time as it supports those things.
Reshade also doesn't have shit to with memory handling.
In the case of either they are as intensive as you make them, and if you don't how to make them less or more intensive or why they do the things they do, that relegates you to "I like this" and "I don't like this"
"Better" is an entirely different beast and ReShade isn't mature enough to be "better" in any mechanical or optimization sense.

Condensed, ReShade can do some good shit but ENB is ultimately better if you set it up correctly.

That's true but I've grown accustomed to getting the most out of Reshade in every game, that's why I'll choose it over ENB nowadays.
Skyrim Reloaded is an interesting alternative to some ENB features, like enhanced water, that aren't possible with Reshade alone, without so significant a performance hit. Combining Reloaded (SKGE), Reshade and good interior/exterior lighting mods (Your choice of anything like NLVA without the enb files, CoT, vivid weathers and then probably ELFX unless you prefer Relighting Skyrim/ELE) gets you decent colours, ambient occlusion, better water and somewhat improved shadows, and bloom/DoF if you want them. No subsurface scattering, volumetric fog or sky lighting like ENB though, although it does have motion blur.
ENB can do subsurface scattering? How?
ENB can do subsurface scattering? How?
Vanilla Skyrim actually has subsurface scattering, however it's RARELY used.
so what are "the" oblivion mods to use?
I should add I currently have: Oblivion Character Overhaul, Unique Landscapes Compilation, Oblivion XP, and "Assorted Protective Female Armors".

oh and the unofficial patches

other than stuff you've already got if you want to play as an archer denockarrowtoo is pretty critical.
vanilla oblivion is pretty close to perfect imo, and most of the little niggles I have with it I haven't seen a mod to fix it.
like I want a mod that adds way more people to the world, especially in cities where there seem to be more buildings than residents

Everyone sleeps in their shop or in the inn jt seems. There is a mod that adds travelers on roads.
Did the Beyond Skyrim guys ever get past the engine limitations?
Did the Beyond Skyrim guys ever get past the engine limitations?
I'm not sure what engine limitation you mean, but I assume that they must have done, seeing as they're releasing Bruma on Saturday.

Oh awesome! I heard they were having problems fitting Cyrodiil and the rest of Tamerial since the engine can't support having the world be larger then Skyrim itself

It's meh123 so yea it probably works.
I bet BGS won't fix the problem in an update.
Is there any mods that slow the game down without feeling like a chore or tedious? I know there's mods like disabling fast travel but I was wondering if there was mods that made walking through towns interesting instead of running everywhere, as well as smaller things to enjoy between adventures. I'm leaning towards immersive stuff and stuff to do.
Off the top of my head I have disabling fast travel with alternatives, better sounds and more populated cities, I know there's a card game mod. Does anyone else have any suggestions?

Maybe this carriage mod? I dunno... I'm interested in that card game mod though.

I've had fun with Better Spell Learning and Not So Fast - Mage Guild on my latest mage character. Having to wait between College missions and having to study spell tomes to learn them made me feel like an actual student at the College rather than just a glorified errand runner. They're available on SSE, too.
IIRC Cyrodil and other provinces are going to be seperated individually, so Cyrodil will actually be composed of 5 (???) loading areas (Jerral Mountains, Gold Coast, Colovian Highlands, etc.) instead of one contigious region.
Aw that's kind of lame. How come it's split into 5 areas? Oblivion's Cyrodiil map is just a tiny bit bigger then Skyrim's but I know it can fit into one loading area
Anyone know a fix for this? It's on Skyrim SE, I modded, but not a insane amount. If needed Ill post my mods list

You need to turn off the new snow shaders IIRC, it's a vanilla issue that hasn't been fixed by mods yet to my knowledge

No this is not true. Cyrodiil consists of only one worldspace, which also contains Elsweyr and Valenwood. So you'll only get a loading screen when travelling between Skyrim and Cyrodiil.
