It's a thing but it's only a thing in very, very extreme circumstances
You need a whole fucking lot of people to believe it, and probably control over a Tower and the knowledge required to actually use one

The Skaal are unique from Nords in not following Shor or any other apparent aspect of Lorkhan; it's not an inherently Elvish thing, just more common to them. Why exactly the Skaal are so different is a mystery, as we don't know anything about their early history; I'd guess it's due to taking up worship of the magical nature totems around Solstheim.

Well then they did what they usually do and bumbled over their own lore because they specifically refer to Mora as their major adversary in their religion in the DB dlc.
edit - Also Vivec drawed power from people worshipping him as do some other gods if I rememeber correctly.

He may be [I]an[/I] adversary, but not [I]the[/I] Adversary; they recognize him by his old Nord name. He also has obvious Greedy Man-type qualities (i.e. he's greedy) and so fits under that title quite nicely; the Greedy Man isn't anyone in particular.
Also it's unclear if Vivec derived literal power from worship, but he definitely got political power from it, and I wouldn't be surprised if all that belief in him as a god somewhat bolstered his godhood
edit: something I forgot about the All-Maker and the Adversary/The Greedy Man; they're also very similar to the concept of Anu and Padomay, the beings of stasis and change that all other spirits are aspects of
issue is that Anu and Padomay don't exactly in any comprehensible form within the TES universe itself, they're not capable of thought or action
the Skaal are very Anuic, unlike other Nords

Unless things have changed since I last played, we've never been able to get enough people together to organize a clan
Has there ever been properly explained how exactly Arkay became a god, since all he really did was read a book and prayed to Mara. He wasn't an Aedra/et'Ada and he didn't have the soul of a dead god like Talos did, he was just a random shopkeeper.

That is [I]probably[/I] just a story, there's no other reference to it and it contradicts the many other stories about Arkay and his equivalents where he was always a Divine
Arkay is a rather complex Divine though, especially since the Nord equivalent, Orkey, is a combination of Malacath and Arkay who was leader of the Orcs and responsible for a trick that ended in the Nord lifespan being reduced to six years until Shor (probably actually a Shezarrine or something) threw away the curse, with some of it landing on the Orcs and causing them to lose their long elven lives.
Also the Altmer version of Arkay is Xarxes, the scribe to Auri-El who keeps track of all Aldmeri accomplishments and apparently wrote the Oghma Infinium with knowledge given to him by Hermaeus. Redguard version, Tu'whacca, is mostly the same as the standard one, being a god of life and death, but he apparently started as God of "Nobody Really Cares" and took up the whole life and death thing after Nirn was created and they needed someone to take the job.

We have one with 12(?) people on the NA server, but I don't think there's ever been any significant member interaction. I think it was mostly created as a resource pool using the guild bank.
Thought I should mention that the latest SSE update added a new piece of CC content to that ccc file. It's called "ccQDRSSE002-Firewood.esl". No idea who this is from or what it'll be right now, seeing as the name is pretty unclear. Maybe someone will be able to work something out, though.

sneky snek archer of course. default to sword and board if enemies get to close.
or if I'm playing the ballsy type, two handed weapons and heavy armor sneky snek. You get detected a lot for obvious reasons.

I like magic.
Less so in Skyrim because it's so damn boring, underpowered and static compared to previous titles, so I just hit people with a sword instead.

If it's any other Elder Scrolls game though, I use magic exclusively, with the odd swing of a sword if need be.

How do you make conjuration work for you? I always struggled making use of that cause the spectral wolf and even the flame atronarch felt kinda weak.

Hm, I was all but sure Illusionists were practically useless in Skyrim though.
I guess that's from lack of experience on my part, given I'm more of a Conjuration/Destruction mage.
