My best way to do melee so far has been to install Wildcat and TK Dodge, enable player staggers, set damage done by both you and enemies to x2 and go nuts. The fights you win are the ones where you rarely get hit. It's vanilla+ so you have to like vanilla to actually get into it.
You definitely need a mod that disables killmoves, atleast for the player, since double damage will make it super easy for the killmoves to trigger.
I'm still unsure as to what triggers a kill move, on vanilla at least.
Yeah, killmoves are BS. Basically when an enemy attacks, it runs a calculation, ignoring armor, and if that kills you, it has a chance to freeze you in place and run a killmove on you.
That's why you might be playing perfectly fine, blocking and avoiding attacks, and suddenly a bandit chief with a greathammer instakills you from half health.
VioLens is sort of a requirement for me to play these days.

From what I've seen, I think it triggers roughly whenever a power attack would do enough damage to kill the enemy. Wildcat introduces damage done modifiers if you're behind someone, if they're power attacking, etc so I've triggered a lot of backstab killmoves from behind and a lot of killmoves by just standing my ground vs. a power attacker and power attacking them right back.
UH ALL THE ARGONIANS OR N'WAH AS I LIKE TO CALL THEM, GET OUT OF MORROWIND BECAUSE IT'S FOR DUNMER ONLY, UNDERSTAND, CAUSE IF YOU DON'T I'LL MAKE ARGONIANS SLAVES AGAIN

Little Dunmer baby can't even shoo a bunch of tadpoles off their ash wasteland.

ONLY A RACE OF COWARD NEEDS TO HIDE IN A SWAMP JUST TO SURVIVE. ONE DAY WE'LL BURN DOWN YOUR TREES.
After playing Morrowind I have been converted to the Dunmer Cause
Speargonian is the only proper way to play Morrowind. After that, they lose their lizard feet AND spears, why even live.

speargonian in medium armour enchanted with on-use levitate spells*
spear orc for high-speed murder midget
I still think it's sort of sad they got rid of the unique leg structure that Argonian and Khajiit people had in later games.
It was certainly an interesting bodily feature that split the beast races and Men & Mer apart.

I know. The way that the argonians moved really freaked me out and it added a lot to the alien atmosphere of the game.

I love how the first things I've done since starting Tribunal have been setting up a marriage, acting in a play (and almost getting murdered for it), and buying a pack rat - aka the best thing in the whole series.

Before you get too far into Tribunal you might want to install the mod Sotha Sil expanded. It's basically an expansion on top of the expansion. It expands upon the main quest in a way that keeps true to the lore and its really well executed. It turns an underwhelming dungeon into a sprawling city that even has its own side quests.
do you know if its compatible with mgo?
Does Sotha Sil mod work with Morrowind Online?
Edit: Are traps gay?
uhhhh what level should i be for tribunal?
im getting my ass handed to me.
uhhhh what level should i be for tribunal?

It's meant to be played after the main quest.

Whatever you do, do NOT talk to Gaenor.
It's meant to be played after the main quest.
Well I finished the main quest at level 16 and got my ass handed to me in the sewers of Mournhold
to be fair, it's not hard to get your ass handed to you in morrowind
my big beefy nord never got past a bunch of fucking rats
Whatever you do, do NOT talk to Gaenor.
Disregard this, Gaenor has fallen on hard times and really needs your help.
I think it would be cool if new TES games had a system where you can slice off limbs if they are exposed without armour.

The first time I encountered him [sp]after he gets decked out in ebony gear, he didn't even fight me. He just stood there and gloated and then went about his business. I thought "well good for him, glad it all worked out in the end, even if he is a poor sport about it."[/sp]
