Spinoffs to fill the half-a-decade time gaps would be nice. A title mechanically like Divinity: Original Sin or a lighter Dark Souls ala Bloodborne are some ideas I've always had floating around
Spinoffs? Aren't an MMORPG and a card game enough?

No.
An Assassin's Creed style one set in Imperial City?

Or Alinor. Taking out key Thalmor leadership.

Dagoth Ur is still one of my favourite bad guys to date, the newer antagonists are generic as fuck in comparison
I'm thinking more The Elder Scrolls Adventures: Dark Messiah.
The game would have a more linear story focus, played chapter by chapter rather than another open world sandbox RPG.
Instead of focusing on one location, you travel across Tamriel, visiting many provinces and seeing new things. It could be something like Arena, you seek the pieces of a powerful artifact and once you've collected them all, it leads to the finale, whether it's saving the world by coincidence, finding the biggest treasure of all time or the discovery of a lifetime.
Both TES and Dark Messiah allow you to develop between Warrior, Mage and Rogue archetypes, either concentrating on one or mixing them. You get different styles of play and different challenges. You can fight with pure strength, use various magic spells, sneak, climb around, whatever you may see fit. Depending on your choices of development, sometimes the path through a challenge is straight, other times you have to take a longer path around it and occasionally you might find a shortcut or a trick to bypass it completely.
The combat is more on the action side, like Dark Messiah or Souls series, again promoting the playstyles that feel different from one another. Wear heavy armor and take them on with sword and shield or wear light armor, evade their attacks and strike their weakpoint. Use the many schools of magic, blow them to smithereens or conjure minions for assistance. With many different enemies, you'll encounter different challenges, big and strong, small and quick, some with tough armor, some with resistance to magic. Some you'll find easy while others difficult.
You go through huge dungeons and other adventurous locations. Exploration is encouraged to find new items and equipment and even when you don't need it, you'll still want it to sell it later to acquire something more useful. You could have bonus objectives to complete that take you off the beaten path, earning you additional rewards. Each location would feature a host of new enemies, hazards and loot not found elsewhere.
Maybe some recurring characters, such as a travel companion or a rival adventurer.
With the smaller scope of each place, you could show more things, maybe the different forms of Khajiit instead of them forever being stuck as mancats.
It could just be a grand adventure in the TES universe without having to be The Chosen One, you're just an adventurer doing their own thing in the world.
Just some spitballing. Tall order but it could make a great game.
i want a cooking mama type spin off

to me they're the same thing. engrish is my fetish
I'd like an Elder Scrolls game/spinoff with some actual combat and depth to it. I'd like combat to have some meat to it and actual strategy, and not just wildly flailing a sword at someone until they die. Maybe not quite Dark souls level of combat, but at least like Dark Messiah or the Witcher 3.
Failing at that, the sims, but Elder scrolls edition.
I'd really like to see a spinoff where it's just multiplayer arenas.
Or the Daedra are bored and have their servants go to war with eachother. Honestly, I imagine Dagon's dremora to be in perpetual clan warfare to an unreasonable degree, like his plane is usually a large game of multiplayer team deathmatch; The Daedra, IIRC, Respawn unless you soul trap them, so it'd be some wild shit going on.
Elder Scrolls moba also makes some degree of sense. Lots of potential heroes, lots of potential areas to make your generic trilane jungle map out of and decent potential for cool interactions.
Above all else I would rather they release some type of dedicated coop game. Playing with a buddy has been a modding goal since Morrowind's release and an actual topic built into M'aiq, so it'd be a pretty nice experience.
NO MULTIPLAYER TES GAMES
The only reason why the game would stay singleplayer for me is the mods, and a spinoff title would most likely mean a different engine if they outsource it. Yeah a spinoff could be another New Vegas, but that's way too optimistic -- Bethesda seems to have completely given up on that front and I'm thinking it's partially because they're jealous of what Obsidian came up with and how everyone loves NV more than FO3 or FO4.

Multiplayer doesn't do lore well, and lore is half of why I care about TES
Don't make the lore any worse pls
also bethesda isn't jealous of obsidian, they're dev studios not kindergarteners
[editline]13th December 2017[/editline]
also I fear that a multiplayer game could overtake the main series, given how well multiplayer does compared to singleplayer these days
we really don't need that happening

That's fuckin crazy tho, every TES and Fallout release is so huge. Their announcements and the lead up to a launch have to be the in the top most hyped things in the game industry.
Also idk with how Bethesda presents itself with The Man Todd Howards being the face of it, I can imagine it being kinda shitty when the spinoff title is more popular (at the very least with the userbase, you can see it here specially) than your two flagship games.
co-op tes tho

did they not have tes online that came out years ago
also a coop tes would be amazing, same with fallout
co-op tes tho
This is what I want.
tes online got quickly downgraded from a full mmo to a purchase once f2p model and even the expansions get less hype than the skyrim port of the month
did they not have tes online that came out years ago

ESO has gotten better over the years, but its writing and lore are still watered down for the format unfortunately (though I've come to appreciate it)
a better MMO is the only way I could see it working, though I also don't see anyone ever making a proper TES MMO
co-op for TES and Fallout would be fun but I don't trust Bethesda or Zenimax with making it
I'd honestly rly want a dedicated coop title like the coop mods, Morrowind coop has been the most fun I've ever had in a TES game.
that said, "no multiplayer because muh lore" was a stupid reason that poured out of my brain without thinking it over, woops
i mostly just don't trust anyone to do it right
im just saying you said 'also I fear that a multiplayer game could overtake the main series, given how well multiplayer does compared to singleplayer these days' but thats clearly not the case
im just saying you said 'also I fear that a multiplayer game could overtake the main series, given how well multiplayer does compared to singleplayer these days' but thats clearly not the case
yeah not sure what i was thinking an hour ago, the singleplayer games are too big to be overtaken that easily

I have to agree on that. Being a Bethesda loremaster is already a big joke and I'd rather not sacrifice potential for good fun to protect something already super flakey
I see no issue with a coop TES, but I think it'd have to be done as if the guest player is a semi-permanent follower (ie with a savefile) instead of another dragonborn capable of modifying the quest line.
So basically what we want is Super [del]Mario[/del]Dragonborn brothers
cookie clicker but with sweetrolls pls
