Okay, so Dawnguard is a mixed bag. I didn't know any specifics about this expansion's campaign before I went into it. I knew it had to do with vampires and that was about it. I didn't even know how to activate the main quest. Here's a brief timeline of what happened: I started the game and created a breton character, planning to create a sort of vampire spellsword (side-note, this has been a very fun choice). I'm not interested in playing through the main quest or doing the civil war again, because I already did those things on PC years ago. So as soon as I got dumped out of Helgen, I traveled to Rorikstead and eventually got myself arrested, winding up in Whiterun. I then traveled to Morthal to do the "Laid to Rest" quest as a quick route to becoming a vampire (I ingested so much vampire dust before I figured out I had the disease, it was silly). I then went back to Whiterun and started that quest where you have to rescue the Grey-Mane guy from the Thalmor. That put me at the northern coast, and, wandering east, I eventually ran into the Vigilants of Stendarr. In my first encounter with them, I was still below level 10, and they had just finished killing a vampire, so I killed them back, and then after discovering their headquarters just up the road, decided to make it my job to clear them out- which I accomplished with the use of stealth. Nothing happened, so I went back down the road and ended up in Dawnstar. I must have just made level 10 because there, a recruiter asked me to join the Dawnguard. Like a cheeky little shit, I told him "I haven't noticed a vampire problem," which caused him to go off and tell me that the Vigilants had just gotten attacked at their HQ by vampires. Thinking this was referring to me, I got super giddy about it. I decided to try joining the Dawnguard, just to see how the game would handle it. Maybe I could even betray them down the line! Along the way, I went into some ruins which turned out to be Forelhost and I took out Rahgot using sneak attacks. I should note that at this point I still hadn't realized that, despite the glowing orange eyes and pale skin, the game never considers your character to be conspicuous as a hungry-hungry vampire. I have Rahgot's mask, but I don't always wear it; in fact, if I'm not in combat, I prefer to not hide my face. This raises an issue- I get why you wouldn't want to disrupt the normal gameplay, but when you walk up to a vampire hunter looking like a porcelain doll with flashlight eyes all dressed up in vampire attire you looted out of Morthal and he's like "welcome aboard! here's a crossbow" I get a little skeptical. I go into the fortress, and the game even pokes fun at it, when Isran makes a comment along the lines of "why do I bother posting guards if anyone can just walk in? A vampire could come right through the front doors..." He sends me to Dimhollow and I eventually find Serana. I hide the fact that I was sent by the Dawnguard and follow her back to Castle Volkihar. There, I meet Harkon and he gives me the opportunity to become a vampire lord and switch sides. At this point, I'm reaching maximum hype. We have this amazing setup, where there are two rival factions at opposite ends of the map, I have this supernatural form with its own unique skill tree, and things are dangerously close to getting spooky. I'm eagerly expecting a campaign similar to the civil war: taking over Skyrim, town by town, making it safe for vampires and driving the hunters back. But no, there are higher stakes! It turns out there's a prophesy wherein the vampires will conquer the sun! Ohhh shit, I am so ready to plunge Skyrim into darkness. Most of you know what comes next, and I probably should have known, too. Turns out that actually being evil isn't an option. Despite throwing you into a castle full of corpses, sworn in allegiance to Molag Bal, and turning you into an immortal monster that feasts on the living, you're not allowed to actually be the baddie. No, Bethesda would never be so daring. As soon as I learned that the prophesy called on Serana being killed, I knew that my destiny was to be her white knight and to prevent the coolest possible thing from happening. I haven't gotten all the way to the end, but I wouldn't be surprised if the sum of everything I accomplish in the Dawnguard campaign boils down to a few new friends and a gimmick keepsake item.

I only dislike Dawnguard because vampire attacks which you can't do shit about on switch
I only dislike Dawnguard because vampire attacks which you can't do shit about on switch
I pretty much just keep it in mind to never fast travel into a city at night. Haven't had a vampire attack yet.
Been playing a lot of Oblivion lately. Been keeping it mostly vanilla in terms of graphical mods. Besides some sick oblivion.ini tweaks, I use a tweaked oblivion reloaded (still experimenting with settings, really satisfied with the AO right now, I use it in conjunction with nvidias hbao), the weather - all natural mod aswell as the landscape lod generator and tes4lodgen (not using really aevwd). It would definitely add some nice dynamic to the otherwise blandly lit landscape. (Yes, I intentionally play without the actor and tree canopy shadows because of consistency)
I only dislike Dawnguard because vampire attacks which you can't do shit about on switch
If you go to a town gate and the guards start saying stuff about vampires, don't go into the town. It's not foolproof and it's very annoying but it's the best/only early warning system I know.
I don't get it. What's so bad about vampires on the switch?
They're bullshit hard and annoying when you have to babysit the whole world to not die from their own suicidal stupidity. Imagine if any NPC you talked to had a 15% chance of just dropping dead for no reason, you'd just have to reload whenever it happened with 0 fun to be had.
Playing any Bethesda RPG without access to console commands sounds like an absolute nightmare, I don't know how the console folk do it.
For me the portability of the switch makes up for the lack of mods/debugging since I can play in an automobile and such but it's still a shame
Anyone recommend or know of, for that matter, any mods that allows me to wear clothes under armor? Like, if I equip an article of clothing, and then an article of armor, it will remember what article of clothing I wore, remove it, and equip the armor. Then if I take the armor off, it will equip that article of clothing again.
I recently modded my Skyrim and i got this bug: super creepy [t]https://i.imgur.com/Jh8Ngka.jpg[/t] [t]https://i.imgur.com/WXMz3iB.jpg[/t] this are the mods i installed [t]https://i.imgur.com/ZOQR8n2.png[/t] anyone maybe know how to fix this ?

Anyway, the solution is the same. An .esp loaded after the mod that adds the open faced helmets reverts the changes that make the head node render. Just open up TES5Edit and check what mods that overwrites it. Then there's three possible solutions: 1. Move the Open faced helmets mod below the mod that revert the changes. 2. Check if there's a patch already made... 3. ...If not, create your own conflict patch. EDIT: Remembered that I helped a fellow over at reddit with a similar problem before. Nexus Skyrim overhaul adds the Open Face thing mod... then gets overwritten by Weapon and armor fixes. Deleted the Mod Weapons and armor fixes because i dont know how to make patches

It was written for the requiem subreddit, but still applies. Just ignore everything requiem related.
Is there any sort of mod that tracks which quests are available in the world to you, where you can find their starts, their requirements, etc? Constantly checking Wiki can only do so much.
Wouldn't blow minds but you'd have to do a pretty good job at conveying how that system and logic works. A lot of game design has to do with player assumptions, and right now most elder scrolls fans are familiar with the concept that ebony armor is typically more protective than dwarven and will assume so unless told otherwise. If you don't then expect a lot of people to complain about lore inconsistency.
I think it's already a thing that, say, A greatsword made from X might do more damage than a smaller one handed blade from Y, even if the weapon from Y is one or more materials better. I think that same logic can apply to armours, IE steel plate>elven chain despite Elven plate>steel plate. I was actually planing to really double down on the lore there. it'd be a lot less gamey than skyrim/oblivion, where glass weapons weigh in extremes despite the armour being light/morrowind.
Happy new year/new years eve from V. the "angstborn" high elf vampire two-handed illusionist conjurer. Picking up Skyrim after a while of not touching it has been a blast. [thumb]https://i.imgur.com/HswzHs1.png[/thumb]
I wonder how Oblivion would play if weapon durability was tripled but you had no way to repair your items ala Breath of the Wild. I know a lot of people really don't like this sort of gameplay but at least it'd encourage you use different equipment other than Umbra for half the game.
Then we'd make our own FCUK YOU UPPPPPPPP's but never use them as they are too precious.
Overpowered weapons in Oblivion are like a dime-a-dozen though. By the time you go through and break all your 'precious' artifacts you're probably going to be swimming in either daedric gear or enough money to make super enchanted weapons anyway. i just discovered the best glitch with whirlwind sprint use the shout, then before you return to your normal speed sheathe/draw your weapons if you time it at the very end, you can go at SANIC speeds with full turn control like 4 times further though it only works in thirdperson afaik

TES3MP 0.6.2 It's not the big update, but there are bugfixes, some options for servers, and what is essentially an emote system.
