Don't do mods kids. They kill performance and save game files.
First run playing a Glass Cannon Mage, is there any good mods that work with SE; that give the game better robes, the vanilla ones are quite boring.

cp500 templar complaining about a tank who was doing his job not having ice staff and 'using light armor' (they weren't), and complained that my nightblade died despite... needing their healing to survive. They didn't understand that heavy attacks give you magicka. dungeon immediately after a sorc set to healer role abusing queue that only had illustrious healing This is why you never grind dolmans

God I wish there was a decent crossbow mod that added more crossbows based on material type. There is one and its alright for the most part but its made by mashing parts of bows and other shit together to resemble something that might be a crossbow. Some are decent and look like this [t]https://staticdelivery.nexusmods.com/mods/110/images/23876-1-1347189107.jpg[/t] and then some look like... whatever this is [t]https://staticdelivery.nexusmods.com/mods/110/images/23876-2-1347189079.jpg[/t]
the worst part is how you can recognize the models they are spliced together from
I kind of like it when people re-use art assets. It keeps things more consistant, means that people with less modelling/art experience can put their ideas into implimentation, and generally means making the most out of what you have. If it wasn't for copywrite laws, I'd love to see abandoned works be recycled in whole or in part by others. A lot of work still went into bad games or films and there's some pieces within that could be salvaged and reduce costs while giving the original artists a better showcase for their work. Film studios reused and redressed sets all the time but that's become less of a thing with green screens, and big name video game studios have to keep up with the latests in graphical fidelity. Unless you're Ubisoft with their find-and-replace open-world game design or Bethesda sticking with Gamebryo until the heat-death of the universe.

Sorry to bring the thread off-topic, but do you think this concept applies to music as well? For instance, Edwin Birdsong - Cola Bottle Baby was sampled in Daft Punk - Harder Better Faster Stronger, which was again sampled in Kanye West - Stronger. All of these samplings were financially compensated, of course. But what about sampling without permission? For instance, Tavares - Break Down For Love was sampled in Daft Punk - High Life without permission--because they thought could get away with it by chopping it up and increasing the pitch. Would the world be better off without copyright? Or would that lead to a systematic exploitation of the independent artist by the massive corporation?
I've like completed like 3 fourths of Skyrim right now and goddamn the writing upsets me. It just fucking upsets me. All those dumb, meaningless moral dilemmas. All (100 fucking %) of the characters being shallow, and making retarded decisions. The player being given false choices: it's not complicated, if it looks like you can choose your own path, then it's because it doesn't fucking matter. It's so obvious there wasn't any big picture planned for Skyrim as far as writing is concerned, just "write it up as you go" mediocrity. During quests that have the least bit of fleshing out (that is, that have more than a minute of dialogue), the tropes being used are so fucking obvious you could pass the whole game as a bad fan-fiction. I can't believe Bethesda did this to a series that was built on the quality of its writing. Morrowind and Oblivion are so much better. But I can believe even less, that they fucking did it to Fallout 4 as well. If the next Elder Scrolls is even more dumbed down, I'm officially gonna start boy-cotting Bethesda. Making some of the most anticipated and ambitious games nowadays, and they can't even bother to hire some decent writers for it? Fuck this. Just a little rant.
1 had really dumb plot about gathering all the pieces of some staff scattered around the tamriel to free the emperor and beat the baddie. 2... was probably fine 3 had a lot of dialogue that nobody would ever say. The plot was great'n all, but even the most diva acrobat wouldn't explain their profession that way. 4 was alright, it was good, but it wasn't great, and the greatest quest in the history of TES is found here but it runs on a so-bad-it's-good story, so it's not really a testament to great writing. 5... yes, it lowered the bar, and then it squished the bar down furter with a shit-mountain when dawnguard was released, but... "officially gonna start boy-cotting Bethesda" relax dude.
I thought the civil war line was cool and I really like dragon born ~lovecraftian~ dlc. Main quest was lameoid, but so was oblivions, you're pigeon holed to be some sorta uber hero good guy. Also the skyrim guild quests were fairly poop. Overall I love the game though, with frostfall, civil war overhaul and a buncha other "survival" type stuff you don't really need many quests
(I have yet to play DB so that's not included here) Good: N/A Ok Dark brotherhood. Meh Companions Maybe the bard's college, though that might be bad, things are here because they're forgettable. On that note, I think the Bard's college might be the only questline where you're not "The Chosen one" in some shape or form. Maybe I'm wrong about the bards, but I'm certain every fucking quest-line listed here pulls that trope. Bad College of winterhold Main quest Fucking terrible. Thieves guild. Actively trying to be the fucking worst Dawnguard (Had cool aspects, they all do, but was generally fucking atrocious.)
The only reason the brotherhood questline is better than the others is because you can say "Fuck this" and just kill Astrid. It's an underwhelming choice sure, but at least it's actually there.
I haven't played Dragonborn yet though so I'm looking forward to that. But honestly, there's no way quest mods can be written worse than the base game. I still love the game and it's tons of fun, but fuck the writing. It doesn't help that the game gives you the impression that everyone dies on their first encounter with any enemy, or 10 meter into any dungeon. How many times in Skyrim do you read some shit like "I'm gonna do this thing, what could possibly go wrong?" and then you see their dead body next to a Level 1 Draugr. Is everyone completely unconscious? The fact that the Main Character and their companions are the only people who can survive in Skyrim just ruins my immersion completely.
Dragon born has the awful [sp]Apocrypha[/sp] section where you get sniped by the stupid looking [sp]Seekers.[/sp] I just rush through that whole level then you get to the [sp]boss fight where the boss regens his health like 10 times.[/sp] Spoilered it because some of your guys haven't played it.
I think they look coolio but ye that particular area of the DLC isn't great, also those [sp]ashmen[/sp] are a pain in the bum
Well that was new. I just got back to Dragonsreach after Bleak Falls Barrow where you would normally find Delphine and Farengar talking except she just wasn't there like, at all Farengar was just having a conversation with himself I still don't know how I can keep finding new bugs after 1000+ hours in this game
Are you ready for ANOTHER Skyrim purchase? Todd thinks so: http://store.steampowered.com/news/38169/
Skyrim's written incredibly poorly but it has such a strong sense of adventure and exploration that I find it difficult to really be upset in the long run. It could have been more, but it's still an excellent game as is for how entertaining it is to just go on adventures.
Fuck you I love Apocrypha I'd kill for more creative Apocrypha dungeons gimme some of that shit in Creation Club
Agreed with the love for Apocrypha. Of course, I love all the Oblivion realms. And outer planes in fantasy in general.

It is abysmal, full of dumb shit, incoherences and missed opportunities and it's infuriating to see, but the rest of the game is :ok:
