The Elder Scrolls Megathread XX: Might as well be XXX

I usaully install mods depending on what Class im playing because there are so many mods that change the specifics about one class, especially for mage and stealth.
So if you are playing mage (Like I am right now) get Apocalypse - Magic of Skyrim
It's a lot of fun(and later on becomes very over powered so that might steer you away, depends how you like to play.)
MORROWLOOT ULTIMATE
never leave home without it
Also the usual, Frostfall, Camping and iNeed stuff is always good to install, but I find some people don't enjoy getting annoyed each time you fast travel that you need to gulp down some food and water (like me)
Also worth noting that while Frostfall is really cool, even in Skyrim SE you can get noticeable script lag with it
It's a BIG BOY so don't install it unless you really want it
Also I think it by default has problems with Skyui Mod config menu, there is a fix out there for it. I haven't noticed and lag with it but it is a big boi
for real get an alternate start mod
just ignore the main quest completely. Dragon shouts are cool (You could get a mod for that without the main quest I imagine) but wait until you feel the game really tire down before you get into the main quest, then you get to be this huge already established hero first.
I always wanted to play an ES game fresh with an alt start mod. Just totally unfamiliar and dropped into no where.
Skyrim is an immeasurably better game when you get a random start mod and RP as a sort of amnesia-stricken hunter who wakes up outside/in a random hideout, all while generally avoiding using the map, so you're just walking around in the wilderness until you stumble onto a town or something.
To add to the factor of being 'lost', it might actually be really smart to add a light fog mod and darker nights, which maybe isn't realistic but very interesting. Even better if you have brighter torches, making you rely on that light for your survival.
Bonus points if one gets a fast travel immersion mod tbh

well, it took me two-three weeks to do and an insane amount of save scumming, but i managed to finish arena. hated it at first, but honestly, by the end i actually really enjoyed it. Looking forward to daggerfall.
I understand that the elder scrolls draws heavily from the 200 BC ish to 300 AD era of the Mediterranean by the time of skyrim but what baffles me is who the hell do the dunmer represent? Romans equate to the empire, Carthaginians equate to the Aldmeri dominion, Nords are well what else, redguards to the Anatolian region and northern Arabia, bosmer are to the filthy pagan tribes of europe, the dwemer represent the greeks, and the beast folk are there to satisfy your curiosity. but the dunmer strangely enough seem to break off from this. Is there something I'm missing or are they actually unique to TES? I want to say minoans or Phoenicians but I don't see any corrolation other than living on a volcano island.
there's not really a focus on location, which is especially obvious if you look outside of tamriel. I'd say they represent the aztecs more than any other culture.
That's the argonians.
Afaik the kahjiit are supposed to represent gypsies as well.
Arent Dunmer Hindu? I don't know if that lines up with the 200BC-300AD thing
I think the Dunmer may be the only one to not really have a culture they're based on, fitting of the alien theme of their homeland, Morrowind. I don't think there is an irl equivalent to the general architechture and culture they have
Has anyone tried this kind of combat set-up in Skyrim? I was considering trying it out with the "Of Skyrim" series and the other mods mentioned above

Dunmer architecture is inspired by the various mushrooms kirkbride ingested while working on the writing
Aren't they just based off Dwarves or am I stupid? Like maybe LOTR Dwarves the cities they built look fairly similar.
thats dwemer, dunmer are dark elfs
the dunmer represent being dicks and then getting dicked on
i kick all the dumbmer in the junk when i see them
Their religion is inspired on a bunch of things but particularly Jewish and Hindu faiths, and some of their architecture (the style seen in Gnisis) has a bit of a Mesopotamian flair to it.
Also a lot of Morrowind's aesthetic was apparently inspired by Star Wars (the bonemold helmets partially started as an excuse to draw mandalorians apparently)
oh fucking bad reading
New ESO Summerset datamine We haven't seen Griffins in TES before have we?
It's bullshit that we can never get games that look as good as the concept art
Witcher 3 being the one exception
I think ESO looks pretty good but I do have to laugh when I see a loading screen like this when the Alik'r desert actually looks like this
Has ESO ironed out continuity stuff like the Imperial City not meant to exist yet? Or am I horrible liar and there was no issues to begin with?
Ironed out eons ago
Also the Imperial City was supposed to exist, the issue was it was previously assumed (but never directly stated) the place was still jungle until Tiber Septim cleared it with CHIM, Thu'um, or both; the explanation is a vague "Tiber Septim just that bitchin' that it's retroactive" which tbh works excellently since Tiber Septim is just that bitchin'
I would have rather seen it as the endless jungle, but I can understand wanting to get the free nostalgia points by making it as close to the terrain of Oblivion as possible and it still looks good, so I don't mind too much
Tbh it's probably a good thing that the next chapter won't have a new class. That way they can't bullshit the lack of actual content.
Brodual tests their mods for about three hours, so if you lack common sense or the ability to use TesEdit or unfuck saves, cramming random shit into your load order is probably not particularly bright.

well, creature design looks good
but can they please stop using this horrible Imperial-lookin' elf I accept Altmers with beautiful golden skintones ONLY
