Thats not entirely true. Look at the BF1 Beta. It was about a month before release and it had some pretty bad bugs, but Im fairly certain almost all of them were fixed by the time the game released.
I stand by that the major problems of this game isn't little bugs or general jankiness, but the entire game has a pretty broken & boring foundation for both combat & stealth, the driving & flying physics are just silly, and those problems aren't going to be fixed within the next month.
Also BF1 was an incredibly high profile release, I imagine EA was able to shift a lot more resources onto BF1 than Ubi will for this.
Does anyone have a pc key i can trade for xbox one key.
I feel like if you want the most out of this game, turn off your markers. Use your eyes, actually take your time, reinforcements can be hiding in a tree line and you wouldn't know, no more wall hacks. People like to complain about the difficulty, well this is Ghost+
Do some actual recon instead of letting the game auto-mark everything from the drone, memorize it and old school Splinter Cell that shit

The problem with that is the enemy AI is incredibly skittish and will go into "I suspect something better check everything" mode for seemingly no reason. (I was simply observing an outpost watching their patrol routes and they started acting suspicious of fucking nothing.
That and once they 're aware of you they all into the problem most modern games have where if the enemy know you're around they know exactly where you are.

I've seen the opposite once they know you're somewhere. If you fire off a round from a long distance away, say from a sniper rifle, then displace and re-locate, you can watch the reinforcements they called bum rush the area you were in. Which is neat. The problem though is they're a bit too exact.
Fired one round off and they sent a helicopter and the helicopter flew directly pin ass perfect over me. I hunkered down in a bush so it never saw me, but it did fly in a 400m radius circle a few times searching for me before giving up and flying off. I'd like to see them change it so they don't all rush the exact spot you were in, but comb the general area, instead
This could've been a socom / old ghost recon game in an open world environment but of course it's just another ubisoft game.
Generating health shouldn't be a thing in a game like this. Stealth should've been a much more viable option than just shooting everyone on sight.
I love games where you have to come up with a strategy and have to adapt when things go wrong, that's what made those games so great back then.
You could take like 2-3 hits and then you were literally dead. Here you can take at least 5-6 shots and still get in a revive stance.
Well, after playing the beta, think I'm going to just get it when the GOTY edition comes out. Isn't really worth $60 imo.

Yeah, I've seen this in a lot of games, but I'm never sure how it works in real life. Can you triangulate a shot that precisely, if you've got the training? Or would you only be able to get a rough idea?
god the way guns damage cars in this game is so fucking stupid
Having thoroughly explored the out of bounds areas I can say that the difficulty definitely scales with security level, rather abruptly. While nothing in beta province really threatens me, the max security ones are absolutely brutal. Santa Blanca and Unidad also get new gear and there are generally more of them in the outposts. Convoys feature blackhawks and eventually blackhawks with missile pods to defend them.
That's good that things get tougher, maybe that'll force the player to use more stealth.
This seems like a game that will be fun when me and my friends pick it up for half the price after 5 patches have been deployed.

From one shot at 700+ meters in say a valley when you catch everyone by surprise? Hell no. They'll be able to tell which end of the valley it came from and that's about it. Sit there and shoot again after everyone's hyper alert and it might be a different story
The US has a toy that listens for gunshots and can give a pretty fucking precise heading and distance, but I don't know how many or if we've deployed them at all
Fun fact, if you take a shot from about 3600 yards or more, the bullet will have slowed down so much on the way to the target, it loses the SNAP as it flies over your head because it's slower than the speed of sound, AND the sound of the gunshot will have caught up to and passed the bullet and you'll hear it before the round reaches you (Albeit it'll be as loud as someone talking)

Out of curiosity, how'd you explore the out of bounds areas?

Did you manage to get far in the map? Or is there a guaranteed kill volume somewhere.
There weren't any kill volumes I found but you would randomly die or your counter would start clocking down. Also falling through the ground. I really only explored the western boundary. A lot of the cities on the map weren't actually modeled ingame
Don't mean to double post but just wanted to point out that an open beta was announced. Closed beta survey emails mention it as well. My guess is the weekend before release, ala For Honor.
lets hope the performance will be better that time!
I'd hope that the open beta will be a different beta build but I kinda doubt it, it'll probably just be the same beta.
[editline]10th February 2017[/editline]
From an email I got about the open beta:
Get ready for the Open Beta
Open Beta will be available soon ! Discover a new province and start taking down the Cartel.
Sounds like it will actually be a new beta, not the same thing. Hopefully it's a build that's a little more polished.

This is their chance to turn around public reception of the game, so they had better have a new build.
I think this game has potential. Played it with my friend on PC and it was really really fun. Tried playing solo, and everything went less interesting. This game really aims for co-op. The only way the game is fun, i'm probably gonna grab this one, let's see how it turns out when it fully got released.

And an actual fucking framerate.
Any word on an open beta time frame?
Any word on an open beta time frame?
Probably weekend before release, seems to be the norm for ubisoft titles

Apparently Feb 24 until Feb 27. The open beta preload is also a fairly small patch to the closed beta if you still have that client, so some people are guessing that it simply opens up Montuyoc, which was one of the few provinces that was developed in the closed beta build.
