Ghost Recon : Wildlands V1 - Some are Soldiers, We are Ghosts.

let's give the players a new area to explore even though our game is fundamentally boring as shit
I crashed a helicopter and my spec-ops dudes comically poured out it mid-air, safely landing on the floor with the HVT. It's amazing how much of a janky, hilarious mess this game is.
I'm not entirely sure if it's a new build because it seems to run a little smoother and driving doesn't feel as jerky as it was, but i'm probably wrong.
I think the fundamental problem is that people have forgotten that this is an Ubisoft game at its core and went in with unreasonable expectations (especially for performance during any form of testing phase, let alone release). Granted that's not an excuse to have it just because it's Ubisoft and they've proven they can do good like they did with Watch Dogs 2, but going in with low expectations because its an Ubisoft game I have a feeling will make it a lot less of a punch in the gut.
Driving is definitely improved. But that's the only thing I've noticed different. I still get 25fps on the ground on Medium with an R9 380. And they dare say a GTX 660 can run this game? They've been hanging with the actual cartels for too long
It's up and guess what
performance is identical.
So to all of the people that insisted BETA BETA BETA despite me saying it won't change this close to release can now eat your feet
I mean, it's still not the full game. There's still no guarantee that this is how the full game will be.

Oh come ON this is even a new build. Get real

oh yeah i'm sure they have plenty of time to fix up the issues with this i mean it's not like the game releases in a few weeks or anythi--

Lol the game just refuses to work for me, it keeps telling me it's outdated and closes itself despite being able to play for a couple minutes
How is it that the division looks better but this game runs so much worse.

Why would they be fixing issues that might only be present in a beta? This is a completely different build from what the full game is actually going to be, there could be a million different things that could be happening in this beta that aren't going to be present in the full game. The full game might have the same issues, but it very well might also not have any of them.

Probably because this is running on the same engine that AC Unity runs on (Which runs fine for me, oddly enough) and Division is on that Snowdrop engine

This open beta build is a different, updated build from the closed beta and it still has issues the closed beta build had. I highly doubt these are "beta build only" issues because these aren't even betas, they're glorified demos of a nearly completed game.

The fact that this has a beta label on this means that it is not a glorified demo. It might still very well be based on an old build that they just added some more shit onto. The simple fact that it's a slightly different build than what the full game is means that there could be a million different bugs or problems present in the build that were fixed ages ago in their actual full build of the game but might just require way more work than its worth to actually fix them here. If the game comes out and it still has the same optimization issues you can brag about being right all you want, but there's still no way of knowing whether these issues will be present in the full game before we get some actual hands on impression on the full final build of the game that will be out on release.

Or we can just go based off of past Ubisoft games that have had a beta and see the exact same trend happening yet again and make a very well educated guess as to what we're going to get once the game launches in one week after this 'beta' ends. Which by the way is already printed to disc and shipped to stores world wide.
Nothing is going to be different
Trying to sweep any major issues like performance under the guise that it's "just a beta" at this point is desperate optimism
Anyone else having the problem here you start a new game and it just freezes on loading?
[editline]23rd February 2017[/editline]
Didn't have this issue in the closed beta.

I'm not looking to brag about being right, this isn't about being right or wrong, I'm stating my opinion from experience. This whole "beta" thing has been a shitty practice for a while now.
AAA companies put out a chunk of the game, restrict or limit it somehow, then slap the "BETA" label on it as a way of trying to deflect any criticism about the game by claiming "BUT IT'S JUST A BETA". Pretty much every single time, people find issues in the beta that carry over to the full game and there's a huge uproar about it leading to shitty user scores/reviews, people looking for refunds, etc.
The game is finished. It's shipping in less than two weeks. At the very least, there's going to be some major day-1 patching going on if they actually try to fix anything from this """beta""".

How do people manage this every time Ubisoft releases a game
How do people manage this every time Ubisoft releases a game
Dunno, I've only ever played the beta and then the final game of The Division and that was already mostly fine at beta.
[editline]23rd February 2017[/editline]
And Siege, which was also mostly fine in the beta.
Honestly I had a fair bit of fun, gave it a play for about an hour for the night. It definitely seems like a game that's more fun if you have people to play it with though.
As for bugs or performance issues I didn't really have any save a couple of fps freezes, especially when someone would connect or disconnect. I guess I'm missing where these complaints are coming from though since I'm running a GTX970.
How do people manage this every time Ubisoft releases a game
Siege works fine for me and that's an ubi game. I haven't played it on release so I don't know how it was then, but it is mostly fine (aside from the netcode needing to be tweaked more)
I'm actually starting to fully get the stealth and there's actually a few unique things about it here. For one, stealth takedowns and silenced guns aren't completely silent, if you do a takedown on someone or shoot a silenced gun and there's someone close to you, they will still hear it and the range on it seems to be based on what weapon you're firing, silenced pistol has the shortest hearing range, assault rifles have longer and sniper rifles can be heard from a pretty decent distance even when silenced. And also the sync shot mechanic is still so much fucking fun to use and feels so satisfying.
anybody having issues with the servers im trying to party up with my roommate

doesn't this go against your argument?
the "betas" of those games were mostly fine, the games ended up fine?
Meanwhile the "beta" of this is a downright mess and disgusting state of a game that's out in 2 weeks...
I wanted to like this, even without the issues the game has, it's a shame that this gmae is what ghost recon has become.

No? The beta was fine, so there wasn't much to fix for the final game. Kind of a different situation.
No? The beta was fine, so there wasn't much to fix for the final game. Kind of a different situation.
There wasn't much to fix and yet they didn't fix the netcode in Siege until months after release, and Division had all sorts of connectivity and server problems at the launch
Going off that, would they really be able to fix the countless issues with Wildlands?
There wasn't much to fix and yet they didn't fix the netcode in Siege until months after release, and Division had all sorts of connectivity and server problems at the launch

Neither of those issues are the beta type issues, in Siege's case it's just inherently how the game was made and server issues is just something that happens with every online game. Optimization issues is a different thing.
So does anybody know how to fix the outdated version bullshit?
Is there a way to delete your save and start fresh? My computer was acting up and System was eating my disk usage rendering anything I was doing slow as hell and I couldn't even work past the character creation menu, but for some reason it saved the default dude.
Open beta runs worse for me than the closed beta did. Nice.

I don't know what you're talking about.
The game runs at a constant 60+ FPS for me on Very High settings. Not to mention the driving feels much better, albeit motorcycles still feel like ass, and the AI also seems to be much more aware than than the closed beta. The only thing that irks me is this off stutter in animations of your character when you're moving around which makes it feel janky but it's a lot better than the closed beta that's for damn sure.
the fuck
a well placed frag just blew up my technical along with the entire squad and i still heard a muffled "YOU'LL BE FINE MAN, I'M ON MY WAY" in the distance as the KIA screen appeared
But yeah, now that i've put a few hours in the beta it's not nearly as bad as i expected
not really worth 70€ but i'll definitely buy this one once it goes on sale
