Damn, i'm liking this more and more with every hour i put in
i might actually give in and preorder soon
i just hope there's more customization options in the finished game and they should let you customize the AI squadmates too
you look really fucking out of place decked out in multicam when the rest of your squad looks like tacticool airsofters
none of them even have the mandatory operator beards for fucks sake
They apparently said you can't, but I wouldn't be surprised if it came in an update. It's a really common request.
after playing for an hour i have come to the conclusion that wildlands is literally just an open world future soldier.
the gameplay feels almost exactly like it, besides the camera not being directly on top of the shoulder like it was in future soldier
There are quite a few things from Future Soldier I would like to return to Wildlands. Like the ability to keep a drone out to mark targets, rather than having them all marked permanently, or the ability to tag 4 sync shot targets so I can kill people unrelated to the sync shot without triggering it. Also having enemies spawn in from sensible locations rather than all around you in defend side missions.
Or anything else from this post I made after the last beta.
Is anyone else playing this right now? I'd like to play with people who aren't retarded mic spammers and actually try the MP for real
Uplay name is King_Purge
I shot down a unidad helicopter and everyone inside survived even though the helicopter exploded. The guy on the minigun kept trying to shoot me.
I shot down another helicopter and it exploded in mid air.... And stayed there. The mini gun kept firing that time...
I think I dressed wrong for this game

So I've learned two things. There is a G36 that is not in the weapons menu but it can be picked up (I had to kill a freed rebel to get it). It has no name other than "Assault Rifle".

Second, kids exist in this world, they are immortal.

I think that weapon's a ubisoft club reward, might have something to do with it having no name/not showing up in the list(none of the UC rewards that are in the reward list do in the beta). Still really strange.
that's weird, yesterday at the cartel training camp, I killed a guy in a guard tower and he dropped a G36c with the proper name included

despite all the blatant bugs, I may still buy it. Got 11 hours out of 10% of the game
All guns are in the beta. Sort of. You can double click them and look at them. The model is there, the texture is there, the assets are in the game. Just not in any area we get to play in
so this game keeps a stable 60fps apart from some 5 second freezes which p nice considering I'm running a 970
but does anyone else get issues with background programs when running this? my cpu is at 99% usage pretty much all the time and it's nice to see a game utilizing multiple cores well but this causes issues with stuff like teamspeak, causing packet loss etc
What the fuck is wrong with Ghillie suits? The way they flicker is just fucking outrageous, I'm about to have an epilepsy.
The game is insanely fun, but lacks in the technical department - poor optimization and lags certainly do not help.
I will wait out a bit until they iron the bugs out and will buy it for sure, but it will take a month, two even, at the very least.
I kinda hope the selection of shotguns is better in the full game, compared to how many guns are in other weapon classes having only one pump action, one semi auto, and one auto shotgun(not counting the unlockable weapons from killing cartel dudes) is kinda lame.
Hello there

You can unlock this is the beta theoretically, you just have to explore all of Montyuoc
I have it unlocked, it's in the middle left of Montyuoc.

For the part about freezes, that was a new bug introduced with this build and a lot of people are getting it so hopefully it's something that can be patched.
For CPU usage, yes, a friend and I had problems using Discord while playing. We fixed it by changing CPU priority of grw.exe from High to Medium.

I got the SPAS 12 last beta when you could go out of bounds. Suffice it to say, you probably aren't going to use shotguns much anyway. Wouldn't complain about more options but they just aren't balanced well with the other weapons.
Yeah, you can just grab weapons off of dead enemies, but you can't customize them in the loadout screen until you unlock them by finding them in a gun crate (which means no suppressors or damage-increasing mods or even custom paint jobs). The G36c in particular is a Ubisoft Club reward, you can't find it in a gun crate, which IMO is a shame because while I'm no gun nut, the G36 series has been my favorite gun to use in games since I first found one in STALKER. Good thing I had a massive surplus of Ubisoft Club points, I guess.
Decided to play it some more.
The game is still fun, but the AI squadmembers are borderline useless until you go down and need to be revived
I'd also prefer to crash when I drive a bike into a rock, not being flung into outer space.

I hope there are more customization options in the full game. I'd rather look more like a regular Ghost Recon character than the Medal of Honor Warfighter style guys.

But you can already do that.

Put 3 hours into the beta today. I like it! Might get it on XBone to play it with my friends.
Far cry meats the division is the only thing I get playing this game.
Not exactly a bad thing either.

My friend and I made a plan to ambush the convoy moving north in Montuyoc. We put together a roadblock using civilian cars, set up C4, and waited. When the convoy got close my friend popped the helicopter with his grenade launcher and this happened

The wreck spun out of control, exploded into the ground, and shoved the humvee and truck off the edge. After we shot up the first truck we went down to pick off any stragglers and secured the fuel. Was a neat moment for sure.
Yeah. You can forcibly respawn that thing just by dying over and over near it. There is a small little firing range or something nearby with minor cover and an ammo box. I went to that and placed like eight C4 on the ground by constantly refilling, then removed the convoy lead from existence.
As much as I've been enjoying the game generally, I have to say the squad elements are totally lackluster. They are decent shots, especially from a vehicle, but everything else sucks.
On the command side you can only tell them to go to a spot, hold position, regroup, or fire. The problem is, all of these are mutually exclusive from each other. If I tell my guys to open fire, they will manuever and shoot on their own. If I want them to fall back, they will stop shooting to run to a spot. If I tell them to go towards an enemy to engage they will just walk at him and eventually return fire. If I try to manually tell them to return fire, they break from going to the spot I told them to go to and engage in a fighting retreat.
Then there is the fact that you can't customize them which is a huge misstep. Cosmetic customization would have been nice but I could live without it. Not being able to choose their weapon loadouts is just annoying though. Given the homogeneity of weapon classes it probably wouldn't have added much depth but loading out a team to excel in one area of combat specifically would have added another tactical edge to the game, plus make it more exciting when you got caught out of your area of specification. Unless of course you put together a balanced squad.
Speaking of weapons feeling really samey, I find very little reason not to roll with a grenade launcher assault rifle of choice and a sniper rifle. Neither the SMG's nor LMG's I've used seem to have a practical edge over a rifle and shotguns are basically useless on higher difficulties. If SMG's were just wildly better at hipfire across the board or allowed you to run faster and LMG's had a suppression mechanic to keep enemies heads down or bonus damage to vehicles that would make me more interested in taking them.

SMGs can be fully silenced. None of the assault rifles in the beta can be completely silenced, enemies will still hear them if they're close enough. Only the pistols and SMGs can be fully silenced.

I've cleared bases with a silenced pistol and I honestly couldn't tell a difference. You can technically clear a base undetected with an unsilenced gun too.
