Dammit, The game keeps stuttering like crazy whenever the game decides to autosave (aka, every 5 seconds). I have gotten my ass killed so many times because the game decided to become a slideshow at inopportune moments. The game's pretty damn fun when it's not stuttering like mad, though. I'm almost finished with it. All I need to do now is actually take down El Sueno, but I also have a few skills I haven't fully upgraded yet so I may end up just spending all day knocking over convoys until my surplus of skillpoints wear out.

Is that what causes it? I've had stuttering since I updated my drivers the other day. Before that it was fine, and in the beta it was fine too.
I have very odd stuttering with the game in that my computer is showing the FPS count at 60 even though it's clearly not.

It seems to always do it whenever the "the game is saving" icon pops up in the lower righthand corner, and according to the PC Gaming Wiki it is a common bug that people haven't been able to find a workaround for yet, so that's the conclusion I'm coming to. I honestly hadn't started encountering it until a couple of days ago, too. After I had gotten through roughly 80% of the game. I'm wondering if it's a save bloat thing.
Man, clearing camps with just a silenced M1911 is great, but sometimes you have to wonder if people in the cartel can see past 15m, I shot two dudes in the middle of the road and nobody reacted for the whole 10 minutes I was moving around the camp :v:
Bodies disappear quickly, but they actually aren't too bad about spotting them before then.
Yeah, there's nothing more satisfying than clearing out an entire enemy base without anyone noticing. Especially when it's a Unidad base, since they'll call in reinforcements if they so much as THINK they heard a gunshot. It reminds me of clearing outposts in MGSV.

That's my only complaint with the game. I wish they would stick around longer and have some sort of mechanic to move corpses.

All stealth games should have a body-moving mechanic imo.

But they should definitely still stick around for more than 10 seconds. :v: It's seriously comedic as it is right now.

It did that for me but it counts.
Almost as many discarded phones as there is in an episode of "Person of Interest"

Yeah, I don't know what triggers the game to recognize you got 100% and give you the "you got 100%" ending from the get-go. Maybe it's designed this way on purpose so that everyone gets to experience both endings, but seeing as the only real difference between the two endings is [sp]whether or not Bowman decides to execute El Sueno[/sp] I don't really see the point.
I'll probably start a new save after all the DLC comes out and when I do, I'm going to hold off on doing the first El Sueno mission [sp]where nothing actually happens[/sp] until I get 100% and see if that makes any difference.

So now that it's been a few weeks since the game was released, what's the verdict?
geddit or no?

wait a few months for a sale/bug fixes
I'd say it's a little under a 7/10 in its current state

I didn't find it very buggy, game looks great but I'd say that with my rig I should be getting better frame rates than I do.
As for gameplay, to be right honest the game is good but it's got that "Ubisoft open world game" shtick, its better enjoyed as a game that you find on on sale so you don't have so many expectations riding on it.
I got it for free with my second 1070 so I had no investment, however if I paid 80 bucks (or whatever it is that games cost now) I would probably be more critical of it.
Depends a lot on whether or not you enjoy going around the open world, taking down bases and collecting weapon parts. If you played the open or closed beta it's basically that, over several districts, with some small improvements. I've started playing singleplayer because my coop partners PSU went out and it's surprisingly enjoyable, but some people have expressed a lot of disdain for the squad AI, and it's undeniably better in coop.
Personally I'd recommend a sale, particularly if you are going to pick it up solo, but I've been enjoying it it myself. I got it with my 1070 as well but I'm up to 42 hours played with a handful of districts left to clear.

my friends and i were going to wait for a sale but frankly we're having a lot of fun doing this co-op
The lever action rifle is pretty awesome. They need to fix the sights in first person though as they are completely borked, you will not hit like anything in first person from a distance
as well as it using a standard rifle carry animation.
It's a solid one hit kill so you can use it in Third person and its really effective at taking out heavy troops

whats the name on the lever action?
whats the name on the lever action?
The "Stampede"
i'm banking that the "bad ending" is the canonical one and [sp]will be the basis for the sequel if there is one[/sp]

which unlock pack is it?
which unlock pack is it?

Let’s get the free stuff out of the way first. The PVP update will pit eight Ghosts against each other in teams of four, in what Ubisoft is calling “tactical, class-based combat.” Ubisoft are planning to reveal more about this free multiplayer mode at a later date, so watch out for more information very soon.
Kinda cool how enemies hold their shot limb before dropping dead if you kill them in stealth. More games need to do this.
On another note, I wish cartel SAMs didn't target Santa Blanca helicopters I hijack. Do the SAM operators just go "oh shit this pilot doesn't have any tattoos, fire all of our missiles"?
I could just chalk it up to Santa Blanca being very orderly about these things, so any helicopter that isn't where its supposed to be is immediately a target. Especially since they could be stealing weapons, information, product, whatever. While product or weapons might be lost, Santa Blanca makes an example of whoever did it, that they'll burn you even if they take a hit themselves. I mean, we see as much from Sueno's acts when people fail him even a little.
2nd patch for PC is out, and will also be available on consoles tomorrow. Patch notes: https://ghost-recon.ubisoft.com/wildlands/en-GB/news/detail.aspx?c=tcm:154-286964-16&ct=tcm:154-76770-32
In addition to that, following the community feedback we received, we have implemented the option to turn off the radios in the game by default, as well as the option to choose the type of vehicle you want to spawn when using the “Drop Vehicle” rebel skill. Now you should have even more tactical options to plan and execute your missions.
