this probably IS a test-run/feeler for a future ubisoft predator title Licensing fees and royalties for big franchises and what not are way too expensive for a company to just give out a little freebie "hey isnt this cool!" mission in their game. So, I would not at all be surprised to see Ubisoft release news about a predator title in the near future. Furthermore I bet it will coincide with the release/promotion of the new Predator film.
Call of Duty Ghosts had a Predator game mode too. The Predator license seems to be running cheap for cameos these days.
From what I heard, doing this little event was all Ubisoft could afford to do, because Fox was charging them out the nose for the rights. Of course, my only source is the Steam Community forums, so take that with a fraction of a grain of salt.
How long does it take for predator to die?! I have yet to successfully kill him with my roommate. I bring rebels with me, I've tried several guns and underbarrel GL. I've noticed him get more aggressive but eventually he gets both of us.
Do you get anything for beating him? It was unclear as to whether you get unlocks for beating the mission, or have to just buy the Predator pack.
I noticed you get a face paint that makes your face look like a predator without his mask. It looks pretty silly. The better reward is you get an actual predator mask. No dreads though, just a ski mask underneath sticking out. The wristblades, mask with dreads, the movie soldier stuff is all paid content.

Just make sure that when you have to confirm the kill you're ready to run.
Tried it together with my operating buddy. We could manage his bullshit immunity when taunting. We could manage his teleporting and bulletsponginess. But we drew the fucking line with his shooting ability which feel like it's drawing a raycast from predator to player with the projectile just being a visual effect. At least when a rebel was standing in front of me and caught the predators plasma ball without flinching while I got killed, or seeing the plasma-ball change trajectory to hit me.

Moving in a completely perpendicular angle will dodge it, but even the slightest angle away from 90 degrees will make it a hit, because the projectile is so fat.
I know this is a bit of a late bump but god damn is the predator one tough son of a bitch. I've been doing the whole game solo atm, and I know that people say they've solo'd the predator... but I just haven't been able to yet. I just get this feeling though that I'm gonna need some help, and I don't know anyone IRL with Wildlands. Would any FPers be available to coop this mission with me perhaps?
What platform you on buddy? I haven't done the mission either and I'm on XB1.

https://ghost-recon.ubisoft.com/wildlands/en-us/news/152-317530-16/update-3-extended-ops-patch-notes For the PvE players: if you have Fallen Ghosts installed, you can use the weapons in the main campaign. Gonna get me some semi auto .50 cal sniping in.
Lootboxes inbound http://www.pcgamer.com/ghost-recon-wildlands-is-getting-loot-boxes/
Update's out, rather disappointing. No BFG in the main game, the guns are not the same ones but rather copies of other guns modified to look like them, so attachments are missing, there are duplicates, one even has the wrong model in Gunsmith. In Fallen Ghosts you have 2 copies of the guns now.
Lootboxes inbound http://www.pcgamer.com/ghost-recon-wildlands-is-getting-loot-boxes/
I just don't understand, I'm sure the games player base is dwindling and then adding lootboxes later into the game just makes no sense

first they release predator then they release the terminator
Yeah sometimes pistols do no damage. Swapping weapons usually fixes that. Last month's update was postponed to merge it with this month's one, in order to provide the Fallen Ghost weapons as initially promised: https://www.reddit.com/r/GhostRecon/comments/7zf4y4/ghost_recon_wildlands_release_date_for_update_4/?st=jeh48qs7&sh=e142e34b Lots of bugs have been reported so we may see some improvements. I suggest doing the solo challenges for the free crates, you'll get free gear if you do. You won't be able to do any challenges that you've missed, so keeping up with each week's challenges is a must.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fjAkZmXOOD4 https://youtu.be/S3TibSpdbVE We're getting AI teammate customization (changing their clothing), and new PvE missions. The first is apparently a Splinter Cell themed mission, with Micheal Ironside returning to voice him.
Can I just bury the rest of my squad in the sand and take Michael Ironside along with me instead? We can have long walks together through the jungle.
I hope this leads to an announcement of a new Splinter Cell game
It's been 5 years since the last one, and if they got Ironside for this they probably have another one in the works. We'll probably find out at E3.
I'm hyped for that AI customization. Finally the entire squad will look tacticool. Also beat the Predator mission, it was a fucking mess that cost the lives of twenty rebels.
I love how approaching it like the movie with just a shitload of mooks is the best strategy.
Looking forward to the mission that includes Sam Fisher voiced by Ironside again. And the 10% AMD performance. Not that it needs it, they've optimized the game pretty well since the beta, runs great
Hah, the Sam Fisher mission opens with Sam on call with the Ghosts using a codename. Your ghost recognizes him immediately just from his codename, then after the call does the special forces equivalent of fangirling for like a solid minute or more about how awesome and tough Sam is.
Ok, wow, that actually tugs at the heart strings just a little. When you finish the mission, Sam goes to talk with Bowman and get extracted and she comments on his old age. Sam replies about not making guys like him any more. He asks about another guy like him, had been army, did infiltration, "wears a bandana" (Snake, of course). Bowman replies that he retired. Sam gets this look of shock, horror, and heartbreak and in a voice like he might cry goes "It's only me..." Like that shit actually fucking stung, but I also kinda love it to see apparently Sam is upset over losing a stealth brother.
Now its an entire HECU team: http://u.cubeupload.com/Coldmute/1VL7RA.png
Any tips for getting through the mission? The second Sam starts to hack the server Unidad swarm the area. It's not unexpected just overwhelming. It would be nice if my team mates weren't fucking useless. I literally had one team mate start to revive me, only to stop, jump off the building and try to revive one of the AI team mates instead. Then the moron died because he dropped down in front of a car full of Unidad.
Finally did it. The final scene with Sam was so sad. "It's only me." Enjoy the retirement Snake. That said, I can't wait for E3 to find out what the "loose arrow" is, since it's clearly setup for a new game.
How often does this go on sale? I played it round my friends on his Xbox a few days back and really enjoyed it. I'm told I just missed a Steam sale for it and I don't fancy shelling out £50 for the game just yet. How capable are your AI squadmates? Can you play it single player or is it only worthwhile in a squad?
