So uhhhh game seems to have forgotten/deleted my saves. What the heck?
See this post for a possible solution: https://www.reddit.com/r/GhostRecon/comments/91j1aj/sepcial_operation_2_bugs_and_issues/e2ykfp3/?st=jk2cm4c5&sh=bc27a986 Ubisoft is working on a hotfix, but no further information is available.
I played the Rainbow 6 mission. Pretty boring one but at least it wasn't as bullshit as the Splinter Cell one. As for writing I felt like they tried to shove progressiveness down my throat. And the lady operative with skull face paint was more edgy than the Reaper from Overwatch.
Remember when Tom Clancy games where written by a competent writer, Tom Clancy
With Ghost Recon Wildlands it feels like effort and resources were misplaced in telling a story that most co-op players wouldn't care about.
To be honest I didn't like the whole drug cartel theme in general.
It would have worked fine on a smaller scale, or if it was more than a drug cartel, but with the way it's just so massive and yet crewed completely by dual-wielding, saggy-panted shirtless fuckers is just unbelievable. Could have been a faction in a grander scheme, not so good as the main force.
Which is why I like Unidad more. They feel like more of an actual threat (even though they're still kinda pushovers). Los Extranjeros were pretty cool too.
I liked SB. The cartel grunts all felt interesting (ex-military being more tactical, drugged recruits dual-wielding etc.) and I especially love the concept for Sueño and how he works, thinks and act. Unidad were a good addition because they were terrifying to piss off but rather passive otherwise.
Heads up , grab your free icons: https://i.imgur.com/u0r99d7.png Also the 416 is getting a short barrel and the iron sights will be fixed: https://i.redd.it/ziuity9duhc11.jpg There should be a hotfix hopefully soon, but it's probably next week.
Pretty sure Nomad wasn't actually interested in backing Karen up in this fight. Their expression and attitude seems to be, "The fuck are you doing, Karen?" Also yeah Karen would've had a knife in her eye if they'd come to blows pretty quick.
I love that you can completely edit your squad now to make them look like insane people awesome https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/235717/f57d772a-e1a4-4b53-adf5-e8d6265d9de4/dope.jpg
I just turned them in to HECU marines, then in to female HECU marines.
An update was released a few hours ago, adding a short barrel for the HK416. No patch notes have been released so we don't know what else was changed.
My team looks like a bunch of CIA contractors.
my guys are based around these dudes https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/234987/6493e1b7-1f05-4051-9cfa-742ed649dbd8/5u8umude.jpg https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/234987/d69d1894-970d-494e-b830-afc51a4f60d8/oefsf.jpg
Shame that this game doesn't have Desert Tiger Strike. Or any tiger stripe for that matter other than that air force tiger stripe.
Shame there's not more camos, period. Would love me some M90...
Ooh! I bet you would
M05 would be nice as well. 😉
the biggest issue with the cosmetics imo is that theres no proper plate carriers. It makes it hard to make proper modern operator dudes that look right. If you dont understand what I mean, look at the Blackbeard Icon outfit, then look at the "plate carrier" option and you'll see how weird low it sits.
Not to mention that the 5.11 plate carrier looks like it's made of cardboard with lower texture resolution settings enabled.
As well as new patterns, I want to be able to use the camo patterns that NPCs already have but we don't. There's a couple of generic urban and green/white digital and ERDL style patterns that Santa Blanca use (and also gets reused and recoloured for the Narco Road and Los Extranjeros enemies) that I'd like to have. I need that urban ERDL to make my HECU outfits shine
Well, they added the short barrel for the 416, but I still wish they'd switch it over to STANAG mags instead of Pmags, so the 50-round magazine would be the fat coffin for M27 aesthetics on it.
It's so dumb that they artificially padded the accessory list by dividing STANAG weapons into those using GI mags and Pmags.
I hope that the next Ghost Recon title would get some tactical nerd to 'sperg about all the gun details and encyclopedia-like knowledge of guns. Not only to bring impressive detail, but also to balance out the guns in interesting and realistic ways.
All modern guns perform effectively the same in real life, unless you count shit like reliability and comfort, which games have no reasonable way to simulate without going into Far Cry 2 tier silliness.
Rate my CIA team: https://www.dropbox.com/s/9cdxwbeb3j54z9y/Team%20Outfit.png?dl=0 Not pictured: jeans, combats and chinos with kneepads. Sorry for the quality. Screenshots are from my Xbox. Had to printscreen my feed on the Xbox website and stitch it together.
6/10 all shirt-designs and vest choices are the same, no business-casual or short-sleeves in sight.
Well one feature totally lacking from Wildlands is weapon collision. Adding length to your rifle gives you a penalty in the 'handling' stat, which doesn't seem to have a clear indication on what it does. You can have a long barrel and a suppressor on and it won't do a damn thing in terms of maneuverability since you can just stick it through whatever obstacle that's in your way. Not to mention that the game lacks encumbrance. Say an M27 IAR would exist in the game, it'd be a damn good rifle, but it'd be a weighty option at that.
