Looks like some neat shit getting added. That SCAR L got me hot, for example.
Yeah, but they did as I was afraid they I would and gave it the "I don't know how to operate this weapon and lack upper body strength"-reload.
Is the update live yet?
Pretty disappointed that they only added new camo for weapons and not clothing in this patch. It was a bunch of stuff the community had been requesting for a long time too (notably classic tigerstripe) and ubisoft staff had specifically been asked people to submit suggestions for clothing camo, plus they just added the first new clothing camo with challenge rewards a couple of weeks ago, yet they go and add these ones as weapon paints instead.
Guerilla mode is looking to be annoying. For starters the shopkeeper keeps talking every round, mocks you when you die and has a really annoying accent. You start off with a Super Shorty (the 2 shot one with extremely short range) and you have to play a whole round just to buy a proper gun, then another round for just one attachment, etc. There is a rank value so maybe completing rounds will give you more next time around, but i haven't gotten that far yet. The AI is pretty useless since they seem to refuse to actually fight, they seem to be stuck in stealth mode and easily get mowed down even on Arcade difficulty. You can't use any of your campaign unlocks like Rebel support powers or weapons, so while you can earn XP and resources for it it doesn't go the other way. I've heard there's only one map, when i played it it took place in the Unidad base in Caimaines both times so i assume that's the only one for now. Maybe the second set of rounds is in another level, i don't know yet. It would've been nice if you could play it the same way you'd handle such a situation in the campaign, but looks like they want you grinding it so you don't earn too many Prestige points to get those items from crates. Speaking of which, i got 2 Prestige crates and both had dupes, so the duplicate rate is still pretty high. The Spec Ops crate i got from last week's challenges gave me parachutes and a weapon camo so no new guns there either. I'm waiting to see if the FAL Club reward will be added because i don't see it yet. I did use it in Guerilla mode and it seems to have a fair amount of recoil, but that was using a base FAL with no skills unlocked. I've heard that the M110 is a letdown, it's missing the unique silencer and seems to be a clone of the G28 in terms of stats. Despite being (almost) the same gun as the SR25 it fires much faster. I'm hoping that Guerilla mode lets you keep weapons or points or something by playing it, otherwise i see little reason to play it for very long.
The worst crate reward are the ~social interactions~ like voice clips and fortnite dances. I tend to get crates with three of those. At LEAST give me some dumb Swedish camo pattern so I feel like I got SOMETHING, man.
I died in ghost mode on the final mission, El Sueno. rip boys
The horde mode suffers from a bad case of being kinda boring, I'm afraid. The challenge creeps way too slowly which makes the rounds feel like a drag and the weapons selection/progression is too slow, and doesn't make it any more challenging because the difference between weapons in the game is minimal anyway so you're just forced to fight with ugly guns you don't like the look of.
So i played through a full 25 round game of Guerilla mode with 2 of my friends, and we found that it gets repetitive really fast. The shop may close on round start but as long as you're in the menu you can still buy stuff, which can be useful i guess. They should make it more obvious which attachments you get when you buy them since different weapons get different things. We had a couple cases of enemies spawning inbetween rounds, it's a bug that's very similar to enemies respawning in bases that you're currently clearing. On higher difficulties that could kill a whole team if they're all in the shop menu. Once you get to the 416 the game's pretty much yours as long as you duck for cover, it has the accuracy, range and recoil to handle combat. The only thing you'll really have trouble with is helicopters and APCs due to a lack of grenade launchers, but the drone can be used for kamikaze attacks and explosions once you get that upgrade. I think if they were to add more maps and increased the variety (and shut up the shopkeeper) it might be good. Speaking of the shopkeeper, you can shoot her through the wall on the right but she's invincible. Too bad, would've been nice if that shut her up.
Where are you supposed to unlock the FAL? It says its in the club rewards but im looking there and I dont see it.
Seems that they haven't added it to the rewards yet. Maybe they'll wait a week or something, who knows.
It'll be available to unlock on the 7th.
I got it as a random starting weapon in Guerrilla, and it's a bit of a let-down. No customizable stocks (so no para FAL) and no short barrel for it; only the basic laser - magazine - sight mods. Felt punchy as it should, though, and has lowest mobility possible which is fun
I finally completed Guerilla mode by myself, and boy was it hard. I don't see anyone doing that on higher difficulty levels without some kind of exploit. The last wave had me being swarmed by Unidad running up the stairs to the raised platform next to the helipad. My AI teammates were stuck running into a crashed helicopter so they were less help, i was down to gunning down each soldier using my pistol because i ran out of ammo. I would've probably died if i hadn't gotten skills to increase my damage resistance. I got the R4 for the final few waves, its recoil is low enough to gun down groups of targets easily. Definitely would recommend it.
Today's challenges are damn near impossible to do. The task force challenge requires you to kill 3 bosses in Itacua with C4, which would be fine if C4 actually killed them. The solo challenge requires you to kill the Predator and then complete El Sueno on Extreme, without dying using only handguns. I guess they don't want people getting all those sweet items for free.
It's really fantastic though as a starting weapon in Ghost Mode, where 100 rounds reserve of 7.62x51 is a whole lot more useful than 100 spare rounds of 5.56x45.
I got the R5 in first round once, that was the best starter I've had.
Since this is a Uplay game, I thought I'd post it here too, but someone managed to log into my Uplay account, even with 2 Factor Auth enabled. I'm not sure how that is possible, unless the uplay website lists logins successful even if they fail the 2FA.
If its like what happened to me a couple of years ago, I believe some of their sites have weird holes that allow various ways of hijacking session tickets or cheating a login, like the stat tracking site for Rainbow Six Siege had a hole that allowed people to gain access to accounts. Also 2FA isn't fool proof. Depending on the system it is possible to trick it such as phone number spoofing.

Who's Cole Walker?
Cold Walker was a Future Soldier mission, maybe it's more Future Soldier content?

Time to recreate the Punisher.

Does anyone have a weird issue on PC where sometimes the controls seem to scramble? I play with an Xbox One controller via bluetooth and randomly when I play the button to crouch suddenly becomes the button for launching a drone (that's just one example.) I've never had that issue in any other PC game that I play with controller, even other uplay games.
I use a controller as well and i only have issues like that when i get into an APC turret. The controls get all screwy until i have full control of the turret. The new missions are a plug for a new Ghost Recon game: https://i.redd.it/app2w9bxmrv21.jpg
Seems pretty obvious it's going to be about Walker going rogue and / or Skelltech war profiteering.
Open world future soldier?
