HOLY SHIT WAS THAT A REVEAL. so much stuff
im honestly so tempted to preorder it
Wildlands was a test bed for this one. I just wish they'd told us.

I sorta did say it:
Do you think they're taking the opportunity, or do you feel they're going in the wrong direction?
I don't want to get overly hyped over acted demo's, but holy shit I'm impressed by how much community feedback they've acted on. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BjYF-9w5PMw From what I saw from the reveal and heard from LevelCap it's like were getting an AAA-title that isn't predominantly catering to the lowest common denominator. I haven't been this hyped for anything other than FromSoft titles in a long while and it's terrifying.
Too early to tell. But I will say that at least from my experience, Ubisoft generally trends upwards with titles over time. Rainbow Six: Siege and it's years of content, The Division (can't speak for the second as I've not played it, but over the life of the first game), things like that. You get occasional missteps like Assassin's Creed 3 and Unity within that series, but that series on the whole is a positive trend.
Yeah i agree. I've got high hopes for this one, it looks like it could be great fun and a challenge without being frustrating like Wildlands is on Tier mode.
Div 2 is a direct upgrade. I can't comment much on the AC-series but for me the only real disappointment I've had with Ubisoft in recent years was the first Watch_Dogs game. Aside from that I've felt satisfied and that's good enough for me. As for Breakpoint I'm fucking hyped to the max, so many things of that stream I just want to slow down and look at under a microscope.
The one thing i wanted in Wildlands that you could never do is just going on foot and trekking through the woods. It looks like Breakpoint will let you do just that. The new injury mechanics will play into that quite nicely. And i like the continued influence from the first Predator movie. The heavy gunner carries a minigun just like the one from the movie, so i hope we can also get the grenade launcher. I wonder if they'll release another operation for Wildlands to tie into the new game. I know Fallen Ghosts is supposed to end the story but it would be nice to get an extraction that ties in directly with that intro we saw.
No AI squadmates
I'd take no AI squad mates over the idiots we got in Wildlands. The number of times my infiltrations were ruined because they decided the best thing to do was run directly into enemies is staggering.
Ohh absolutely. Like I'm not someone who hated the first one because it missed a lot of the promised marks, I still enjoyed it. But man the second game is fucking fantastic and does what the first promised and then some. And somehow does "How do you do, fellow kids?" in an actually enjoyable way. Honestly the leap between Watch Dogs 1 and 2 might be the biggest and best leap in quality for Ubisoft.
My two latest anecdotes from Special(Class) Forces was when trying to Future Soldier mission I had cleared out a shitload of enemies, turned off the jammer and planted C4 on the AA, then there were two hostiles relatively close to each other one in a shorter lookout tower and and one by the foot of the tower, I mark those two for my A.I. buddies. They get lined up and I give them the order to fire AND SOMETHING FUCKING EXPLODES, explosion alert goes off, mission failed, escortee says "You're the worst Ghosts ever". My Special Education And Ligma team probably lined one of the shots through an explosive barrel like it was no biggie. And yesterday in Ghost mode I pulled up to a gas-station to intimidate a leader and while that happens, UNIDAD pulls up and I left my cannon fodder boys by the parking lot and appertly they decided that the HOLD command meant that return fire wasn't allowed since they were wiped out in less than five seconds (on regular difficulty). Can we get some other stories of the A.I. friendlies baffling retardation?
How about all the times they just stand around instead of reviving you? Or stupidly walking right in front of enemies to be detected when you give the order to sync shot. And being told to walk to a perfect shooting position and then walking away to shoot through a wall instead. And failing to sync shot enemies that happen to be standing under something, or in a tent.
I kinda really love the whole metal gear feel I'm getting from what I've seen/read of Breakpoint's story and gameplay.
Too future/fantasy for my taste. Which is too bad, I could really dig an open world game like Wildlands in the Gulf War era, or maybe a fictional story even earlier that leads up to the real invasion of Grenada
I'm divided on the AI teammates of Wildlands, they don't feel like a squad, but they were very useful. Though the shitty dialogue eventually drove me to turning them off (sadly that doesn't stop region/mission based dialogue). As backup they're mostly okay, but the biggest issue is having one track mindsets, I've had them ignore a cartel goons until I was gunned down. Though syncshot makes offline play infinitely less frustrating. I can't remember how effective squadmates in GRAW/GRAW 2 were, but I don't remember having any trouble with them. Squadmates in 2 were squishy but usually held their own as long you kept them in cover.
Previous games usually had scripting to help make the AI better. Hints for cover, attacking, etc. Can't be done that easily in an open world environment.
I play solo so AI squadmates being gone hopefully comes with a buff
I just fired up Wildlands again for the first time in maybe a little over half a year and ohhh my god, did they break the AI with a patch or something?? I don't remember them being quite this awful, enemies and allies both
They were always that bad.
I've been hearing rumors about tiered weapons and colors on the GR subreddit, but the stream didn't mention it and only one article mentions it: https://www.pcgamesn.com/ghost-recon-breakpoint/new-gameplay-features Tiered loot drops Though our hands-on time with Ghost Recon Breakpoint was very brief, we did notice one interesting new quirk: enemies drop tiered loot. Sure, you can always grab a dead grunt’s gun in Wildlands, but in Breakpoint goons drop different rarities of weapons. The only example we came across was a PP-19-01 Vityaz that dropped with a greenish glow, which traditionally flags in-game gear as ‘uncommon’. Unfortunately, we weren’t able to investigate its stats to see what made it different. Much like in looter shooters and MMOs, you’ll also be able to unlock gear and cosmetics from chests scattered around the world, ensuring every map marker is teeming with potential loot rewards. Sounds to me like dropped weapons are easier to find. If the graphics have improved then finding a gun in grass/mud/etc would be hard otherwise. Does anyone know more? Also you get rewards for playing Wildlands, see here for what you get: Ghost Recon Wildlands Rewards Program | Ubisoft (US)
Breakpoint is always online, thats one way to kill all my interest
I hope they go more into detail on certain features at E3. Like supposedly there's something about weapon tiers and degradation? I would love to hear more about it.
Also EGS, though you can just get it through Uplay as it'll most likely open that to play anyway
The only thing i've heard about tiers is that weapons have different colors, which could mean anything. Degradation is already in Wildlands but it's purely cosmetic so far. I did hear about weapon maintenance buffing stats, but they're all second hand accounts from streamers: https://youtu.be/UDWTjEKucrI
Item rarity? Oh fuck, no no NO. Please don't tell me they are doing that RPG elements in a shooter game. I hated it in Far Cry New Dawn. Some of the changes sound nice on paper but I can't take the gameplay seriously yet, the lack of the HUD and some of the animations make me feel this ain't the final product.
fuckin' SEEYA
