Playing on PC with a controller, the cars fishtail like crazy as soon as you even think about touching the stick. Even with a keyboard it still feels strange. Maybe I've been spoiled by MGSV but the gameplay in this just doesn't feel super good. I thought that this would basically just be The Division: Cocaine Cowboys but this does a lot of stuff poorly that the Division did really well imo. - The writing and voice acting are poor, especially the female voice. Half the time she doesn't sound like she cares at all, especially when speaking Spanish. - Enemy AI is bad, even on the second highest difficulty. Enemies won't instantly detect you even when you're right in their face, and as soon as you're out of their vision cone they forget you were even there. Firing an unsuppressed weapon doesn't instantly alert them. - Movement feels awkward, there's zero momentum and the movement speed doesn't really match up all that well with the animations. - 30-45FPS on medium settings at 1920x1080. Well above their minimum specs, and only slightly below their recommended (GTX 970 4GB, i5-3570k, 16GM RAM). On the plus side, the customization of your character and guns are pretty good. You have a lot of options for clothes, although you're limited to maybe a dozen preset heads and only a handful of hairstyles. The gunplay is alright but there's a travel time on the bullets that feels strange, and a very noticable amount of bullet drop.

You can switch shoulders on PC with middle mouse button.
avoid this game like the plague, goddamn
This is quite possibly the jankiest game I have ever played, and that's saying something. Holy fuck the driving and flying is awful, also.
Haha, that helicopter taking off at 1:38. How did nobody notice this?

I'm feeling like I'm playing a different game than you guys, apart from the optimization and the kinda bad writing, I think it's pretty fun so far. I really like how open-ended everything is. Though stealth does feel a little weird right now, sometimes enemies will seemingly spot you from miles away in the dark and sometimes they'll barely see you at all and sometimes will just go alert for no reason.
This wouldn't be so bad if it was a tech alpha from before christmas But it's literally unchanged since the tech alpha before christmas. Also I think it might be 32bit
This wouldn't be so bad if it was a tech alpha from before christmas But it's literally unchanged since the tech alpha before christmas. Also I think it might be 32bit
I haven't noticed much of a difference since the tech alpha either
Oh so it's just a super old build. That probably explains the optimization. [editline]3rd February 2017[/editline] And probably some of the jank.
Hopefully by the time the game is out they ironed out the shit, because as it is I'm not sure the game will do great if the reports are true.
this has 100% put me off I've uninstalled it already and most definitely won't be buying it
What, the fact that a beta has problems?
What, the fact that a beta has problems?
The game comes out in a month. Yes.
The game comes out in a month. Yes.
Yeah and this is a build that's probably like 6 months old or so.
Yeah and this is a build that's probably like 6 months old or so.
There is no way they are going to use a 6 month old build for a 'Closed Beta' that's 2 weeks from going gold
There is no way they are going to use a 6 month old build for a 'Closed Beta' that's 2 weeks from going gold
Why not? Betas for games are always old builds. You heard it here that it appears to be the same build as the test from december. And I wouldn't be surprised if it's even the same build that people at E3 got to play. They're not gonna spend a bunch of time making a new build when they already have a beta-ish build done and they could instead spend that time on the actual game.
Yeah and this is a build that's probably like 6 months old or so.
What the fuck would be the point of doing a test on a six month old build. And it's clearly not a beta release for sales hype, because you wouldn't have people's impressions be based on an inferior build. People always fall for the old build rumor. Same with The Division, Destiny, and Far Cry 4's betas.
What, the fact that a beta has problems?
this is not recoverable in the time to launch I was burned by the Division, not happening again
I can't even get through character creation. It keeps kicking me out saying there's a new build.

They're not gonna spend a bunch of time making a new build when they already have a beta-ish build done and they could instead spend that time on the actual game.
This is literally the most retarded excuse I've heard for it ever. First, a beta is generally to bug test. Now what would be the point of bugtesting a 6 month old build? Second, current builds are about as viable for open testing as 6 month old builds, if not more viable because of all the polishing and implementation they've added. Third, as others have said this is general a first impression people get on the game. People expect bugs, people expect problems, what people don't expect is flawed to the core gameplay(which is what most people are seeing, with the gunplay and driving)
Hmm, this game is OK. Nothing amazing, nothing terrible. I guess playing it by yourself would be boring as fuck. Might be worth picking up cheaper on a cdkey site for co-op. Not really sure I like the helicopter handling, seems finicky about ascending and doesn't feel like what I'd expect. Also the performance is kind of shitty. Some of the vehicles feel like the animation itself is stuttery but I'm guessing that'll probably be optimized before release. All in all, yeah...it's just ok. [editline]3rd February 2017[/editline]
You can switch shoulders on PC with middle mouse button.
Is there a button for this on the xbox pad? I didn't find it.
Since people are saying optimization is bad, is it even worth the 25 gig download on a 3570k/680gtx? I REALLY don't want to waste the time downloading if it's not gonna run properly.
this is not recoverable in the time to launch I was burned by the Division, not happening again
Burned how? The Division didn't have any major problems that were in betas and remained in the full game. The Division was basically the same situation as this, they used the same build for like 3 different beta tests almost all the way up to release, the only difference is that those builds were more complete builds than this is. And I haven't even encountered any major bugs in this beta either.
Ghost Recon: Janklands
This feels super generic, every Ubisoft mechanic imaginable is in there (dunno about observation towers), driving feels terrible as well as helicopter controls, gunplay is pretty bog standard, stealth mechanics are almost non-existent, etc.

I'm not finding it to be too offensive apart from the helicopter controls, it's just completely unpolished and generic as all-hell. I'd play it if i got it with my graphics card or something.
