I'm 250 and I don't play often but when I do I play a lot for like a week or so. Winning games and being in groups (+20% xp) helps a lot.

EVERY. SINGLE. GAME thats at 2200, I get someone on my team who is useless, and the other team is a total stomp with 2+ diamonds. This is the 17th fucking game now where I got to 2200, get stomped and will proceed to lose back down to 2100 and nothing can stop it.
I'll never get back into Plat much less climb to Diamond or fucking GM. :suicide:

Dude I dropped like 300 rating in one day. I wasn't even tilted- I just kept getting matched against teams that wiped the floor against my group of school children,

It's why I haven't been playing much competitive, since I know I'll never beat my season high simply because of this, and it's just a slow spiral down.
At this point it's pretty much a glorified quick play.

maybe you just suck, there is no "forced 50% win rate" boogeyman because this is a human vs human game.
I don't understand the 50% win rate some people bring up. I mean, it makes sense that a fair matchmaker would eventually settle on something like that once you've reached the level at which others of your skill play at.
Winning all the time isn't really a feasible goal (Who would be left to lose?). Losing all the time isn't good either. So a rough 50/50 would be the preferable goal I'd think.

Forced 50% is a thing, but that's because of basic statistics and not because Blizzard hates your guts.

It's not forced per say, it's just that putting you in balanced matches tends to result in 50%. But plenty of people have a lot higher or lower than 50%, the game never looks at your winrate directly and says "this winrate is too high, we need to get this guy into really hard matches to get this back to 50%"
50% winrate feels real if you solo queue, but you quickly realize it's not when you group up with people who do well together. I was kicking around high sliver to low gold til I met some cool strangers where we managed to reach mid to high gold but after that I've been stuck there ever since we disbanded after one night of success.

As for the cooldown increase, I find it well justified. At least when people say Zarya can be a good counter to the hook, they can mean it.
Having it share the same cooldown as that ability is pretty key to its nerf. Previously, Zarya was only a counter once, and then Roadhog got the 2nd one for free. (6s cd vs 8s cd will do that)
Since this game encourages death balling there is no punishing roadhog for missing a hook in higher play, he just stays in his deathball and tries again.
Zarya can now shut this out, at the very least.
That said, from the video here I find it very odd that it seems Winston is taking even MORE damage than he does on live usually from this combo.
Which is really the last thing he needed.
So your self sufficient carry machine will still most likely still function until you run into a good Zarya.

He's walking towards his targets there. The new hook distance isn't close enough to kill most heroes, and if they walk away / blink / translocate / shield / bubble / iceblock / or otherwise interrupt or escape from the new combo.

The hook lets you walk in while its pulling, you'll still get first hit.
The nerf seems to be preventing the Zarya oneshots.

But the hook pulls less close. If you walk towards it it will still stop an uncomfortably far distance away.

I honestly agree, but people are going to think you're silly because its Bastion, and he cant possibly be overpowered.
The ammount of things he can shrug off now is insane, and thats just been with his own healing.
If he has any sort of attention from another overpowered healer, you're pretty much going to be forced to run Ana+Hog to deal with him.
Best way I can put it to people who haven't played the PTR, Imagine Soldier 76 with infininte biotic fields, but also with more hp and takes 35% less damage.
He pretty much demands stuns/cc to deal with.

I was playing with a friend (I was Roadhog and he was Ana, I went road cos he's usually good in 3v3 even though I'm not the best) and in first round my team-mates die and I am last alive against 2 of them. I kill the first and the last is a symmetra with turrets in a small room so I don't go in so I don't get killed, I wait and make her come to me, hooking her and winning the round.
First he complains I didn't go in and hook her out fast enough. Ok, I could have but I was cautious.
Then I start missing hooks here and there because hey - it happens. The enemy team starts calling me 'pathetic' because I didn't fall for their symmetra trap (even though I won) and then my team mate starts asking if I am using a controller because my aim is so bad.
When I asked this guy why he was being toxic and not encouraging he said "you're in a group with your friend and not communicating, you don't deserve positive reinforcement" even though I was talking to my friend (in Discord) the whole time.
As the game goes on he gets more and more toxic telling me my aim is disgusting (despite the fact we were winning 2-1) and it gets to the point where its 2-2 and in the last round I just say "since you want to lose so bad I won't do anything" because he is being so toxic for no reason at all. I just zip around as D.Va and let myself die and he tells me it would make no difference if I tried cos I am so bad.
tl,dr: most toxic player I have ever played with blasts his own team because they won't play well enough despite them winning rounds.

I'm not going to lie, he seemed rude and went the wrong way about talking to you as a team mate but you seem in the wrong here
You were smart to not be baited by Symmetra, there's that. But it sounds like your aim really was pretty poor if even your team mate on top of the other team has to ask, it doesn't matter if you're winning or not.
Him saying you're not communicating presumably means you weren't using the in-game communication commands and just talking via Discord which isn't good since you're cutting out the randomer and not giving him info. I'm not saying don't use that, just be sure to clue everyone in on everything.
The fact that you deliberately threw the game and wasted everyone's time because you couldn't take (harsh) criticism is a complete dick move as well
There's also something about shrugging off players who call you out on your mistakes "toxic players", sure they're bellends but that doesn't mean they don't have a point
Honestly when you see a lowlife such as this and you feel like things are gonna go south, you should just leave. More than often have I tried to finish the game out of courtesy and ended up not only being tilted but also way too angry off a videogame.
