It's like when I play Torb on attack and everyone bitches at me. At the end of the game I get potg and the MVP card. Not a word is said. No votes on the card. Everyone leaves, silent and embarassed.
So Africa is still using Child soldiers? Thats pretty surreal.
Overwatch Guest Starring: Child Soldiers
>play a game on route 66 >playing off meta because FUCK THE META >my team spends more time angry at me because we're losing >get potg >they shut up and ragequit get this sweet potg though
PotG doesn't matter
it's like my friend who keeps bitching at me every time i briefly swap to bastion because we're lacking the punch to kill a few key targets "bastion won't win us the game" he says as the bastion pick is winning us the game
Its like, if team isn't dealing enough damage to push, picking the highest damage dealer is a bad decision? I don't get this logic some people have.
PotG doesn't matter
Maybe not, but damn if it's not a great source of post-game chat banter. Last night I was playing arcade as Rein, and an enemy D.Va got POTG. She ulted right in the middle of our team and I charged the mech away, so she killed me with the self-destruct and one other player with her baby gun for the POTG. The chat exploded into "YES REIN" and "YOU STAY, I GO." It's just another layer of fun.
woah you can charge the mech when its priming to detonate?
Yup; when it's critical for your team to stay on an objective and not have to scatter until the ult passes, you can charge it away. Some people aren't so great at it though, I've seen plenty of Reins accidentally deliver the mech straight into more of their team than if it had detonated where it lay.
woah you can charge the mech when its priming to detonate?
Its usually better to just hold your shield up in front of it, as it won't kill you or anyone behind you when you shield, rather than killing you and possibly teammates due to how fast it blows up and the long reach of the explosion. I've been killed by friendly Reins charging it away because their movement made the explosion in my LoS when i thought i was safe behind cover.
woah you can charge the mech when its priming to detonate?
You can also hook it. It's a good idea if you don't like your teammates.
How can you get better at roles you're bad at? Quick play only helps to practice aim, and if I pick them in competitive I'm effectively throwing and ruining the game for my team.
It will be OK to have a little girl as a new hero. Just claim she is a 3000 year old witch and everything will be fine.
How can you get better at roles you're bad at? People will get shitty and toxic if you mess up, but that's true of literally any class. Go into the practice range, make sure you understand everything about your character's movement, range, and abilities. Once you've got a handle on how they feel, Casual is really the best option. It's not as rough as competitive, but it's a highlander-style game mode where you're free to dick around a little without people getting justifiably pissed. Find yourself in Casual, then dip into Comp, and if you're getting a ton of hate, maybe keep practicing in Casual until you feel you're ready. But at some point, you're just gonna have to bite the bullet and jump into comp; you'll lose here and there, but so long as you're noticeably contributing to kills/damage/heals/caps, your team really has nothing to complain about.

Both of those heroes rely on some level of coordinated play that doesn't exist in quick play.
But quick play teaches me absolutely nothing about Rein or Lucio. Both of those heroes rely on some level of coordinated play that doesn't exist in quick play.
Play with friends then and stop treating it like as your teammates are retarded, because if you do, of course you're not going to get anywhere because you're doing it to yourself. ESPECIALLY now, when competitive does not exist, everyone is playing quick play, meaning most of the time your teammates will be decent.
Play with friends then and stop treating it like as your teammates are retarded, because if you do, of course you're not going to get anywhere because you're doing it to yourself.
I'm not saying they're retarded, I'm saying they're screwing around and/or practicing aim because it's quick play. Playing in a stack is a good idea though.
But quick play teaches me absolutely nothing about Rein or Lucio. Both of those heroes rely on some level of coordinated play that doesn't exist in quick play.
If you learn to play well with the lowest common denominator and NO communication, how do you think you'll do if you end up playing with skilled players who know how to communicate? It's like learning how to ride a two-wheeler and THEN slapping on some training wheels. Not to mention how Rein and Lucio are two of the more straightforward characters; pretty much anyone can play them okay, but it takes a lot of practice to play them well. Hop into comp and stick with your team/the objective, learn as you go, you'll do fine. Unless you try and solo the entire team. Don't do that.
Wait. People actually need to practice in order to play Lucio or Reinhardt?
Well, for Reinhardt they need to practice not pressing shift at every opportunity possible. I refuse to play Reinhardt properly in Quick Play :payne:
Wait. People actually need to practice in order to play Lucio or Reinhardt?
The only part of this game I understand is shooting things and Rein isn't even capable of doing that
If they make it a Tachikoma bot, they have to make it act like one, too.
I'm not saying they're retarded, I'm saying they're screwing around and/or practicing aim because it's quick play. Playing in a stack is a good idea though.
well you're completely wrong about that, most people don't play quick play "just to practice aim," they play it to play the game.
Efi unleashes hordes of miniature robot minions with their own pathing that harass but are easy to destroy
So Abathur from HOTS. I could see that working well.
Wait. People actually need to practice in order to play Lucio or Reinhardt?
To not get your team killed? Maybe?
The only part of this game I understand is shooting things and Rein isn't even capable of doing that
Here's my ~Pro~ Rectangle guide, written by me, the masterful Rectangle main who clocks in a total time with him of about 5 hours. Hold m2 Let it get low but never let it break (avoids the 5 sec CD) Spam E as much as you possibly can, all for your Q press. Wait for enemy mandatory Rectangle man's shield to break Press Q Press Shift in the general direction of one of the stunned and defeneless bodies Hold M1 in general directions for the rest if needed. Resume holding M2.
To not get your team killed? Maybe?
I literally just read what other people said to do with Reinhardt and I can play him in Masters SR. I never once practiced him, or dedicated any serious time to getting good with him. Same with lucio.
surprised nobody knew that
Especially with Jeff Kaplan in the middle there

I really wish we got new legendaries on a regular basis
well you're completely wrong about that, most people don't play quick play "just to practice aim," they play it to play the game.
That accounts for the vast majority of players in my QP matches. Either that or they're there to do silly shit like flanker Bastion.
1/2 the time I play Rein in quick play nobody stands behind me and I just wind up [del]ramboing[/del] reinboing
Usually this happens because you're playing Rein in a dive comp.
I love how no matter how mad people get at Overwatch, Jeff seems to be the sacred cow that nobody ever wants to talk shit about.
That's because Jeff is the actual best. The genius of having Jeff Kaplan be the voice of the Overwatch games is that unlike other companies, where they have some dude who's really trying to make himself a wacky meme (like for instance Almir from Overkill) while he tells you a bunch of PR guy bullshit, Jeff comes across as literally just some random dude from the Overwatch team. He's awkward, and comes off as quiet and kind of shy. He's definitely not trying to be a meme, and that just makes the memes better. Also he gives me Dad vibes. He's so not the PR guy type, which just makes you like him more. And then, he goes on to just be honest and actually talk about what's up and why they're doing some things and not doing others. Even if you disagree with him it's hard not to love Jeff, especially after we've all had to put up with shit PR guys in gaming for so long.
