11 year olds play the game but can't have an 11 year old in game No PlayStation without representation
It's mostly that having a game with a killable 11 year old will probably be asking to get torn up by pretty much every piece of media there is. [editline]23rd February 2017[/editline] TONIGHT AT 7: DOES BLIZZARD SUPPORT THE MURDERING OF BLACK CHILDREN?

woomy
I would say there's pretty much no chance Blizzard would make an 11 year old directly playable.
But we talked about this, she's actually a 10,000 year demon
But we talked about this, she's actually a 10,000 year demon
Doesn't League let you kill a little girl for this exact reason? :v:
I don't understand these people. Do they want every game's cast to just be 5 call of duty white-with-short-brown-hair dudebros with one black guy to round it out? That's fucking boring. Not even considering things like representation or social politics, it's just a more visually interesting way to design a cast. I'd rather have arbitrary diversity out the ass because that just means more interesting characters and backgrounds.
tf2 pulled off 7 white guys and a black guy perfectly fine. Just don't make shit character designs, you don't need to be diverse if the designs are good.
isn't the entire cast technically criminals
I don't think Pharah or D.Va are. Pharah has a voice line confirming she's not an Overwatch member, but aspires to be. And D.Va's backstory has no ties to Overwatch in the slightest. Unless you mean she's criminally cute
Mercy isn't, Genji isn't, Pharah and D'Va aren't. Actually, like the vast majority of the cast,
Unless the present timeline of Overwatch is different, Athena said any Overwatch activity is deemed illegal. That includes every hero involved with Overwatch.
And D.Va's backstory has no ties to Overwatch in the slightest. Unless you mean she's criminally cute
D.va's in it for the bloodsport. Killing people in games wasn't enough, she had to go kill for real. She's truly the most criminal character of all.
As far as I'm concerned, Mercy is the only hero that has any objections against Overwatch. The rest are willing to be unlawful, as long as it's for the greater good. Except for Talon, of course. :v:
What I meant is that both of the Hispanic characters are villainous criminals. Granted, Sombra is less so, but she's still working with Talon.
D.va's in it for the bloodsport. Killing people in games wasn't enough, she had to go kill for real.
As far as I'm concerned, Mercy is the only hero that has any objections against Overwatch. The rest are willing to be unlawful, as long as it's for the greater good. But Lucio is a theif, and Symmetra is part of a shady orginization. Though I suppose Symmetra hasn't done anything illegal.
What I meant is that both of the Hispanic characters are villainous criminals. It would be massively out of character for the company that made maybe the most diverse game ever, to then also hate hispanic people
I doubt this is anything more than coincidence. It would be massively out of character for the company that made maybe the most diverse game ever, to then also hate hispanic people
but its perfectly fine to hate robot people.

Just like, really elegantly done artwork as a means of self expression.
What part of "heroes from every corner of the world" aren't these retards getting yet?
Its becouse they are not getting Doomfist (as a next new hero) :v:

Like, I could understand some of this negative feedback if Blizzard was handling their diversity like, say, Marvel Comics, but they've been doing a really good job with their characters so far. There's no lines about "GIRRRL power" or anything like that, no one feels like the shoehorned token minority. Like, you could have an entire team made up of non-white female characters, and not even notice. Overwatch just treats them like cool characters who can do neat shit first and foremost, and I really respect them for that. The concept art proves that the design process wasn't "well we need a strong independent womyn of color", it focused on a gameplay idea or neat design element first and foremost, and that's (unfortunately) not how all companies approach characterization. Like, Pharah started out as "Rocket Dude", and then someone said "that design would be cooler if he was a lady". Which is how diversity should be approached and implemented in mediums like this; naturally.
I want the next hero be a robot. Robots are frikkin cool.
I want the next hero be a robot. Robots are frikkin cool.
This. The Omnics are easily the coolest part of the OW mythos. Also Zenyatta is my favorite character, so I'm a little biased, but "robotic monk" is just such a fucking cool and out-there concept.
I wish we got to see some of the current murder-omnics. At present all the omnics we've seen are the old bastion units and the reformed shambala-era omnics. But presumably there are intelligent, self-aware omnics out there who are out there working to kill humans. It'd be nice to get a more in depth look at what exactly is going on with them. Are they just totally subservient to the omniums, are they fighting humanity of their own free will? For what's supposed to be the basic cause of current world destabilization the that's the entire reason overwatch has to re-form, they sure don't focus on it much.
So you mean the gang omnics from the Sombra comic?
So you mean the gang omnics from the Sombra comic?
No they're just the shambala-era omnics, and some of them turned to crime later on. I'm talking about the omnics waging war on Russia and Korea.
I want the next hero be a robot. Robots are frikkin cool.
What's weirdly missing is female omnics. Like they really should be around. I think they would be around, if only because humans wanted it to be that way. You think the Overwatch fandom exploded over gay Tracer, imagine the frothing rage from a transgender male to female omnic.
We need an HK-47 equivalent omnic. A brutal, unapologetic murdering machine that doesn't pretend to not be evil. [sp] Well, another one, if you count Mei. [/sp]
Overwatch needs Robot boobs
The thing I think is interesting about omnics is how people's distrust of them is actually justified in-universe. Imagine if all of a sudden half of the world's population went apeshit bonkers and started attacking random people. After two omnic crises, it's totally understandable that some people wouldn't be too keen on them. Usually when there's a "robot racism" trope it's just "those dang robots aren't real people! go back to fixing my car like you're programmed to, machine!" but in Overwatch there's an actual justifiable defense for not liking omnics. [sp]zenyatta is still a perfect cinnamon bun though[/sp]
