I actually kind of like Hanamura once you get past the first choke?
The latter half actually has some nice paths.
Same goes for Volskaya, which I see people rag on, but the final point of that is designed really well, and honestly the rest of the maps should've taken notes.
Eichenwalde is really the only map I genuinely can't bring myself to enjoy.
It's like a competitive multiplayer rail shooter where it's always stacked.
I actually hate both attacking and defending the second point of Hanamura. The balcony path for attackers is a little awkward to get to, and the huge open area just a makes you feel exposed on either side.
The only thing I like about Hanamura defense is that the spawn point is so ridiculously close you can constantly just run back into spawn every time you get damaged as D.Va. You can even just get a new mech.
You lose self destruct but who cares that shit sucks.
There's very simple way to massively improve Hana first and idk why Blizz hasn't tested it yet.

Move the flank hole a bit to the left, push the building back, and have the catwalk extend to the hole. Right now there's only one route where teams can coordinate a push onto first, and Hana is the only map where this is the case besides the equally as bad Eichenwalde. This makes it flow like any other first point and gives the team another way to force themselves to the point. It doesn't 100% fix Hana of course but it would make it so offense has a few options.

i want to invest time in a higher skill floor character like widow or mcree but i always feel like im a liability and i know what it's like to have a shitty widow on my team so i never try it, quite the conundrum. I mean even if you can land your shots you have to wonder if you could perform just as well with another hero.

First game with my new golden hammer went pretty well even if we lost.

Wouldn't Volskya industires also fall into this catagory, not every hero can make the leap of faith over a pit, and certainly not a current meta comp.
It is a bad thing if I like to play support more than anything else? I cannot find joy nor fun with the tanks or most defense heroes.

Why would you ever play support.
Just be a normal OW player and pick Hanzo or Widow literally every game without regard to map or team composition.

Holy shit no. I can do more with Lúcio or Zennyata instead of the Window or Hanzo AND support the team while doing so. Zen is so fun to play.
People would probably play support/tank support more if they overall gave the player a greater sense of agency and impact.
Supports, and tanks except maybe Ana and Zarya plateau really early, really hard in terms of how good you can get and how much value you can extract from them.
The best Mcree/Widowmaker/Soldier 76 can melt someone can either do nil damage or completely melt someone nigh instantly. The best Lucio might be better at dying less then someone in the same bracket who just picked the hero up for composition reasons; but they heal and boost at the exact same rate.
Zenyatta is way harder than S76.
I would also say that Winston is harder than most DPS

moving your mouse over people and clicking is not the only skill in the game
I've always liked playing support in various games because I feel like I have a good control over my team, Lucio especially has this sense of control with his speed boost and ult.

"It's just casual, team comp doesn't matter"
would help if most tanks/supports werent boring. I can tolerate Ana because she's stupidly good, I can play Reinhardt for the same reason as Ana and it's fun hooking people with Hog. Otherwise the other tank/supports feel really boring.
I love Lucio's character design but man is his gameplay a snoozefest.
If lucio is boring you aren't doing enough as him.

It's almost like fun is subjective. I see people playing D.Va all the time so clearly some people find her fun, same with Mercy and Zenyatta. Zarya is fun as hell and really good if you know how to play her. The only tank I see infrequently is Winston.

Exist (99% chance of gold healing medal)
Press shift and E when your team presses Q or some shit
Press shift and E when the enemy team does some shit, like press Q
Hold M1 in general direction of enemy reinhardt
whats left to do? Yeah he has wallriding and thats really cool, but its not like he's a flanker or DPS, he can't really capitalize from it unless theres an environmental hazard somewhere.

Which would be a problem if mercy didn't exist to be more boring.
I can attest to that. While i dont mind having to be support, I'd rather only go zenyatts or ana, who can impact a game much more extremely
Which would be a problem if mercy didn't exist to be more boring.
This is true, i know it's subjective but i can't find Mercy fun compared to other heroes who can do damage and heal without switching a weapon.
(Also forgot, having an ult that isn't straight up waiting your teammates to die)
There's a good feeling being able to assist and chase enemies while speedboosting and seeing them overwhelmed and you still putting up damage (because you also want your Ult to charge faster)
And i know it's waaaay harder to pull it off at higher levels but still.
And Zenyatta is still the most fun for me anyway but Lucio has its moments.
That's totally immaterial when most, if not a significant amount, of players hate/dislike/like less dps etc playing support/tank.
When your game is riddled with players who would rather throw by playing a third dps instead of a heal/tank you can pretty soundly conclude from a practical stand point overall that these roles aren't as fun to play, aren't rewarding enough or whatever.
This really doesn't have anything to do with overwatch or it's design. People always tend to gravitate towards damage dealing classes. There are a lot of people that find tanking or healing very satisfying and others that just want to kill shit. It just happens more people just want to kill shit. The only time you really see a lot of people playing a healer is when then can be highly offensive and self heal to aid in their own killing.
I just wish Support were given the same SR gain as others or at the very least made it flat-out for all team players instead of this individual crap.

I dont even bother waiting for that screen anymore. I stay for the potg if it was a good match or I quit out the second the game is over. Getting shit all SR because you played support is fucking annoying.
