As a (sort of???) Ana main, it definitely seems I threw in my lot with the right hero as far as the whole "being able to pick her for months and never having to worry about her not being viable" thing goes. I'd certainly like to see Zen and Mercy become more viable though, Zen's an absolute blast to play and Mercy's fun too. If nerfing Ana gets us there I'm fine with that. Turning that "no heals when heal grenade'd" into a "-75% heals when heal grenade'd" or something would be a start. I just hope they don't cut off her head, I really do enjoy playing her and I'd hate to see her get overnerfed.

So I managed to stump someone. Played Mercy and my team just picked sorta whatever in ranked. At the end of the half, the guy tried to blame me for us getting steamrolled, since I was playing Mercy against a team that was all flankers (Genji, Tracer, etc.) I told him I lived much longer than he did, and stuck with the tank/dps like I was supposed to. Hell, I didn't die until about four minutes had passed. He tried saying something in mic, and gave up. Victory! (Still lost, but hey)
I am finding it very hard to enjoy the game with the waiting times. Why must it take 5-10 minutes to play a 5 minute game? Why must the game kick everyone out if 1 person leaves. Why does Skirmish always end up with nearly every single player required to play, with the exception of 3, why not just put other people into that Skirmish and call it a Game. This is really annoying. I am trying my best to get better at characters but I have to wait minutes before I can practice.

Bastion can be annoying to play against when he's played well, but all things considered he's a lesser offender compared to things like Roadhog, Mei and Widowmaker. Personally I hate playing as, with, and against any of those characters. They're just lame in every capacity, if you ask me. I think the only thing that really bothers me about Bastion is his self heal ability. It makes Bastion seem way more independent than he really is, and encourages Bastion players to go off on their own and find some blind spot to shoot from. From a "playing with them" perspective that means they'll constantly be getting themselves killed because the healer can't reach them, and from a "playing against them" perspective they'll be hiding in some corner you'd never expect and be hard to counter until you've already died to them once. I don't think either situation is very fun.
What if: -Roadhog's hook had an arc instead of being a straight line -The hook has health and can be destroyed if a teammate is quick enough (Not entirely sure about this one, I feel like it would make him kinda useless in team fights) -Adjusted damage so the hook combo doesn't 1/2-shot tanks but still does the same for the rest of the heroes Been playing a lot of hog lately and the hook feels really good now, almost[I] too[/I] good. I don't think he should be able to absolutely melt the other tanks like he does with the <300 health heroes.

Or in a sense just remove the stun it applies [editline]26th January 2017[/editline] actually now that I'm thinking about it, that wouldnt really leave hog any uses for the hook in a lot of cases other than pulling people out of position, almost everone would be able to get away :v: Though imagine roadhog hooking you as D.va, you jump out of mech before you're pulled and leave him with a bomb and a big problem :v:

He's one of the single most powerful characters individually, but still often does not contribute as much to the team as a whole as most other tanks. If you ask me, he'd be better if he simply didn't have the hook-combo at all. Just put a short cooldown on being able to use the shotgun after hooking someone, just like a second would be enough. Suddenly Roadhog becomes something resembling an actual team player, dragging opponents in for his teammates to dispose of. I think this would both make it less annoying to have a Roadhog on your team, and to play against a Roadhog on the enemy team.

people who complain about roadhog have obviously never played as roadhog you benefit a lot more from good positioning and timing than just spamming the hook on whoever you see, because you're a gigantic fucking target with no armour and absolutely no damage potential outside of the hook's range (which really isn't as far as some people seem to think.) To actually get one hit kills you need to be targeting the enemy backline (assuming you're playing against people who aren't fucking stupid) which requires you to be crafty and position yourself well. if you get hooked by a roadhog it's not "OMGBULLSHIT" it means your team isn't covering enough options or you were an idiot and ran in front of the tanks while playing as a piece of paper
I've played roadhog for about 45 minutes and I can play him effectively in Master SR rating. All I do is throw the big hook in general directions and click m1 after it. I've even read how to move against certain heros to confirm oneshots. But honestly, the entire design of "Fucking GOD with the hook, giant feeder without it" is a direction I just don't like. Even though he's not, since his m2s are also pretty good. Especially when you need to drop a reinhardt shield, which Hogs presence in itself forces to be run.
